Here are the English lyrics to this song for anyone interested: A bustling theater, a busy lobby, a familiar face passing by Looking between the clock and the entrance, perhaps waiting for someone Won't you turn around, won't you realize Even now, I love you so Please give me one more chance Tonight's concert, an opportunity to see you. I had the courage to come, but My half-puffed cigarette turns to nothing but ashes as I gaze after you Won't you turn around, won't you realize Listen, I need you so I still see your face wherever I go If I try to run away, the rain outside makes it impossible to go home Whoa-oa-oa Whoa-oa-oa-oa Run up to me, embrace me Listen, I need you so I want you with all my heart Won't you turn around, won't you realize Even now, I love you so Please give me one more chance Run up to me, embrace me Listen, I need you so I want you with all my heart Won't you turn around, won't you realize Even now, I love you so-o-o-o-o-o Please give me one more chance Run up to me, embrace me Listen, I need you so-o-o-o-o I want you with all my heart Won't you turn around, won't you realize I love you so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o
She is Japanese and this is from 1984. I found It at random a while back and love it even if I don't understand a word of Japanese. Like they say music is the universal language. Between her amazing voice and the production this song shoots dopamine to my brain. Glad you liked it JJ.
I just discovered this song today and was surprised to see you reacted to it already. Hahahaha ! Why does it remind me a bit of Rising to the Top by Keni Burke? Great choice. PS: If you want a bit of a George Duke-y feel, I highly recommend "4 a.m." by Taeko Onuki.
Her first name is pronounced JOON-co. You got her family name right the second time you said it. 😉 Looks like someone is venturing into my lane but I'm cool with that tho. Junko got gems for days! 👍🏽 More classic Japanese City Pop and R&B, please! 😎
"Aru Yoru no Wonder" and "Kagi wa Kaeshite (Return the Key)" are two very great songs out of a plethora of good songs by this singer, if you or anyone reading this comment is interested. A lot of soul and powerful vocals/lyrics in the second song and I love the intro to the first one so much that I replay it constantly. There's even a good electronic funk song that she sang entirely in English called "Dancin'". It's hard for me to stay quiet or still while listening to any of these songs lol. She's got a lot of good tunes.
That flute part and other parts of this song sounds just like Chaka Khan's song "What Cha Gonna Do For Me". It is a complete rip off! Someone from that country likes Chaka.
To be fair, Junko’s interpolation is a tiny bit better in my opinion. Plus it’s sampling, everyone does it. Even Ray Charles did the same thing to certain gospel records and just re-did them for a mainstream audience
Rest in Peace, Angel ❤
