A jeez. The wiki said ANY soldier can drop those pot crafting masks. That explains why I got none from my farming attempt. Thanks for the info and makes a lot of sense. Good video title. I hate it when people write "10 secrets you don´t know yet". Thats 99% of the time a false sentence to the viewer. I simply never click those videos.
considering that only about a fifth or so of the people who played the original game are playing the DLC, your views might not be as low as you expect. That said, please keep doing these videos dude. I absolutely love this stuff and I'm a father of three in a family of five with a full-time job so I don't have the time to discover a lot of this stuff on my own, so I rely on videos like this to help me get the most out of these games..
Dude 18:31.. Dom.. Thank you for addressing this. You are a respected source of good info in the Elden Ring community and I don’t think enough people at your level are calling this out. It’s become wayyyy to big of a problem and yet such a simple solution consisting of two parts A: You do you. I do me. Live and let be. B: When offering advice, offer only what you have experienced. If you have not experienced the DLC all you have is speculation. That was great during the countdown but the game’s out now. Just play it and then give the advice 😆
I have never been as unhappy to know I'm approaching the end of game as I am of this. I'm trying to find anything and everything I can to prolong it. Elden Ring is truly an all-time masterpiece of a game, and in my 35 years of gaming, I don't think I've ever gotten so much enjoyment out of an experience. And I've played LoZ: A Link to the Past and FF4 a bajillion times.
I started the DLC on Ng+3 with a SUPER OP character at 421 and had a blast playing through the DLC. If you want to play the DLC, don't let anyone scare you off, it is definitely a bit more difficult than the base game but it's still an improvement on the base game as well in my opinion. If you enjoyed Elden Ring then I don't know how you couldn't like the DLC.. and you get one of the best armour sets in the game right in the first new area at Western Nameless Mausoleum.
First one is a thing in the base game aswell. The only fire monk that drops his sword is in the hero grave in the mountaintops of the giants is just 1 example.
Blame the below average views on TH-cam. I'm subscribed and have the notification Bell turned on and I am getting almost no notification when you post a video
I’ve been wondering about this “dlc+” thing. Good to know. My first dlc completion was on my ng+7 character and I think I’ve gotten most of the stuff… looks like it’s one more level of scaling ahead for me, then 😂
For Tip #9, I killed Freya when she needed Ansbach's information to proceed in her path at the grace in the middle of the Specimen Store room.. because I thought I didn't need her to activate the bits where you side with Ansbach or Leda... and because of that I couldn't activate the fight picking Ansbach or Leda's sides... I havn't tried killing any of the other npcs, at the time I thought I was just getting rid of an annoyance during the last part... man did that backfire for my intended goal to get the questline stuff 💀
Nice vid and work, even most things are known. But one big mistake is in it. You can kill Freya (an NPC) as soon as she is in Shadow Keep. I always do it because i want her armor set early and do a lot of RL1 runs and also ban her this way from the NPC fight before consort by killing her before. I haven’t tested it with other NPC‘s yet, but I assume that they are killable later on. I also have to mention that a fresh first DLC playthrough an NG is way easier than with NG7. Maybe they have fixed/changed it now or it is still like this, but at DLC release NG7 was significantly harder than NG. Just like in base game. I mean starting in the DLC the first time as NG7 vs NG. What those „experts and Gatekeepers“ maybe meant wasnt that the player level is too high and thats why the game is harder (absolut unlogic), i guess they meant. that it is way harder for them because they have done to much game cycles in the base game. I can, of course, only guess. All good to you Umbasa
Ansbach and Freya can be killed inside shadow keep, did this to get his bow, can get both of their armor sets early this way as well as Freyas sword. This does however lock you out of getting Ansbachs scythe and spell at the end if his questline
About the first part of tip 9 in particular, you *can* kill Redmane Freya early when she’s at the fireplace in the Specimen Storehouse. I am not aware of any other NPCs where this is the case.
When fighting Cowboy said that his character for the Erdtree Playthrough was over 360 I knew that the gatekeeping was over and that we could do what we wanted Thank you so much for the tips about the visages!!
I was farming the furnace visage day one when i first got to that part 2 of the soldiers dropped 1 each, i farmed it a couple days, i thought was weird since no body brought this up till your video
I just finished my first run of the DLC on my NG+2 journey. I guess that means the DLC+ mechanic made it a bit easier than if I had played it before and then again in NG+? I'm not sure I understand how that works. There were several times where I thought I had made a massive mistake and wouldn't be able to finish it (especially while fighting Radahn) but somehow I did it.
I found level 65 is about the same difficulty as level 150 in the DLC as long as you collect scadutree fragments. The only difference is slightly less vigor, so maybe take one less hit and slightly less damage output, but genuinely, damage output is only slightly reduced.
There is one bit of misinformation in here. I know for a fact at some point in the Ansbach questline I accidentally attacked him and he definitely took a chunk of damage. Not sure if he can actually be slain, and luckily he didn't turn hostile or anything, but just FYI. I think it was on the 1st floor of shadow keep.
I killed Freya in the Shadow Keep. I realized I failed her quest when Ansbac disappeared so I couldn't tell him about her. She was at the fire place and I attacked her. I got her gear less her shield.
death stare disable lasts till death and the moving orbs will stop moving when they return at their statue and lose form entirely becoming silvery black fog
There are only two scaling systems zone scaling and new game+. DLC+ gives every DLC enemy the ultimate zone scaling on the next run in contrast to the base game where Limgrave becomes a joke on new game +.
You definitely can kill freya before she joins the leda fight. But you have to do it before you give her the note from ansbach at the shadow keep. And you can get her loot from her corpse, but not the shield. I know because i did that twice. Once killed because ansbach refuses to give me a note (got all loot except shield). She will respawn at that location even if you die. Another time i attempted to kill her after giving her the note. I died and she moved on when i respawned.
I figured out immediately that the npcs can't get killed. On my 1st venture into the dlc the furnace golem chased me to the grace and kicked up rocks that took out leda. I thought she was done for
You need to be careful, you actually can kill one npc. It's Freya, in the storehouse if you give the divine rite scroll to Ansbach without showing her first. You can assassinate her that way without facing her in the npc fight at the end.
Regarding the npc killing, I killed Freya in shadow keep. Not sure if it's because I'm on a second playthrough or it's just because she moved from her original spot.
You CAN kill ansbach at the storehouse... in my dlcng+ I tried, just to see if I could, and what I'd get... and you get his armor and bow when you kill him... and you can't get the new talisman for backstepping etc... I haven't tried with anybody else but thollier and he CANT be killed... but I swear you CAN kill ansbach AND freyja, Un the storehouse... and you get their stuff then and there without doin the rest of the quests
I misheard when he was talking about NPCs being unkillable: "except for xxxx, don't accidentally swing your sword multiple times at xxxx" I swear he said Bayle. The auto-captions didn't help, and since Bayle is not an NPC, who was he actually referring to?
There are more than 5 million copies of the dlc. The 5 million number was how many copies sold during the first week. There have probably been another 5 million sold somewhere close to that. Level scaling those “elitists” refer to is probably in reference to pvp. You are correct when you say the pve ng+ scaling is the same no matter what level youre at. However your level does influence pvp. A level 150 player can invade around that same level but not 200 or higher. You cant invade level 200 unless you are at level 167 (?? - I think that’s the threshold) but you then can’t invade level 150. I havent tried to kill npc allies in the dlc but in the base game you can pimp hand and/or kill just about everyone. Some will come back if you do but you have to use celestial dew if you do it enough to anger them. Theyll try and pimp hand you back until you……..dew…it……… If you cant do this in the dlc then that’s a huge change.
The trees of Shadow Land are the exact copies of the spirit trees found in Forbbiden Land and the shape of Shadow Land map loosely resembles Forbbiden Land.
This confused me as well. I was happy to get this duo when I heard of it but did not find them as strong as the Mimic or Black Knife Tiche. I wish they were. That said, I also didn't try them as extensively so it's possible I should have used them more than I did.
I have always heard that you don't want to go into NG+ before the DLC. Is that Fextralife info saying that it's actually *easier* to do it the first time in NG+? I'm not sure I understand.
Came here to say this. Was able to get more than enough to kill all the furnace golems. Never needed to farm a crafting item so I randomly thought to respawn there since I wasn't familiar with how ER field drops work.
i thought I was going mad because on my second DLC playthrough all the enemies seemed stronger. So there is a DLC+ scaling after all. Are you sure this only happens once because on 3rd playthrough they feel even stronger?
I'll be honest the hanging pots with the bell bearings kind of piss me off. It blows my mind that something like String wasn't able to be bought any where in the base game when it really should have.
Jolan and Anna are a very cool summon but not even close to the best summon in the game. All they do is soak up hits and die in 30 seconds, If you're lucky they proc bleed once or twice but I've had better luck with several other DLC spirits personally.
I just recently got to Enir-Ilim in SoTE so I didn't watch the previous videos due to potential spoilers. I'll circle back to them, esp. the Things You Missed series. EDIT: Aaaand I got a spoiler here anyway on St. Trina. Damn :(
Tip 9, in other words, play the damn game for yourself and don't listen what people say. In my case, once I beated the game, I started looking into secrets and stuff, but once I knew how everything works and discovered most of the stuff myself. In any case you know how Elden Ring is, there's a ton of secrets and unless you beat the game 3 or more times, you aren't able to get everything.

destined death and black flame got nerfed ( bosses have resistance to it so it does a smaller percentage of damage)
i really wish sleep was done better. i really like the idea of the status effect.. but only being truly effective against godskin duo & very few way to apply it... feels like it was forgotten as soon as it was started, then threw that frost boss in front of St Trina cuz they remembered about her last second. would have loved a St Trina questline similar to Ranni's
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and that of others, keep making the Things You Missed series I thoroughly enjoy them too!
where is the things you missed series?
Oh dude the destined death tip on the weird eye things is golden. Thank you!
Oh also the darts on the red butt golems.
On the basilisk death stare dungeon, you can also wear the mimic veil to pass by without and death blight buildup.
Already knew them all, having beaten the dlc 8 times already, i should have expected it… good vid tho!
considering that only about a fifth or so of the people who played the original game are playing the DLC, your views might not be as low as you expect.
That said, please keep doing these videos dude. I absolutely love this stuff and I'm a father of three in a family of five with a full-time job so I don't have the time to discover a lot of this stuff on my own, so I rely on videos like this to help me get the most out of these games..
I started the dlc on new game+ 7 I brutally suffered but it was still fun, and such a relief when I finally beat it.
Dude 18:31.. Dom.. Thank you for addressing this. You are a respected source of good info in the Elden Ring community and I don’t think enough people at your level are calling this out. It’s become wayyyy to big of a problem and yet such a simple solution consisting of two parts
A: You do you.
Yeah! I clicked on this notif and was pleasantly surprised to hear Dom's voice again. The system is quite a bit fcky 😅
Same. TH-cam has a really bungled notification system.
PEST THREAD SPEARS works really well vs furnace golems
I’ve been wondering about this “dlc+” thing. Good to know. My first dlc completion was on my ng+7 character and I think I’ve gotten most of the stuff… looks like it’s one more level of scaling ahead for me, then 😂
Thanks for the first secret.
It's like farming arteria leaves from the troll on the mountain tops of the giant.
All good to you
Umbasa
Ansbach and Freya can be killed inside shadow keep, did this to get his bow, can get both of their armor sets early this way as well as Freyas sword. This does however lock you out of getting Ansbachs scythe and spell at the end if his questline
I used ancient death rancor to kill the armored furnace golem lol
About the first part of tip 9 in particular, you *can* kill Redmane Freya early when she’s at the fireplace in the Specimen Storehouse. I am not aware of any other NPCs where this is the case.
When fighting Cowboy said that his character for the Erdtree Playthrough was over 360 I knew that the gatekeeping was over and that we could do what we wanted
Thank you so much for the tips about the visages!!
Lol so you need someone to tell you what to do in a game?😂
@@hidden_name7469 this is exactly what I thought when I read the above comment lol... what has gaming turned into......
Not just the visages, actually all "exceedingly rare to find" crafting materials are farmable somewhere from some enemy in the game.
you can definitely kill the hornset grandam, there is even different dialouge depending on when you do it (before/after beast or messmer)
There were several times where I thought I had made a massive mistake and wouldn't be able to finish it (especially while fighting Radahn) but somehow I did it.
the crystal dart thing is dope.
Tip 7 addendum, you don't need to connect with your parry to be able to harm them. If you hear the sound you can immediatly deal damage.
Black flame also makes the basilisks in the catacombs stop giving you deathblight.
There’s so much in this game. I’ve missed story lines and so much more. I’ve beat it and about to go into ng+1
I think starlight shards can be formed from the Yoda like enemies in C-Cost too!
Amazing video🙌 Very helpful!
I found level 65 is about the same difficulty as level 150 in the DLC as long as you collect scadutree fragments. The only difference is slightly less vigor, so maybe take one less hit and slightly less damage output, but genuinely, damage output is only slightly reduced.
When talking about the npcs not being killable, you state not to hit bayle like he’s an npc? I’m confused. Do you mean Igon?
Yeah I noticed that too I’m assuming he means the absolute gigachad legend that is igon
He meant igon for sure, I can confirm he is the only one that can really be attacked and killed
@@nis_gia why attack friend
@@pollos1 made a backup just to see, never killed and never will kill igon
@@nis_gia okay thats good
I want
Things you missed!!!! I love those videos and have not missed 1!!!
Notification bell working well here. I receive all your video's notifications.
Hey Dom, Please can you do a Faith / Arcane build using dragon communion incantation and Eleonora’s Poleblade. Thank you for your helpful content 🩵.
You can kill the both of the Armored Leg Furnace Golams with Comet Azure and hiding behind a part of the rocky cliff.
Deaths Poker trivialises the golems, just kite them forwards and backwards over the ghostflame.
I’ve started SOTE with levels 111, 167, and 430 characters. I can absolutely confirm that level scaling does not exist.
I thought she was done for
What about gold horn tenders 6:25
What about breaded deep-fried gold horn tenders
Dropped by inquisitors.
You need to be careful, you actually can kill one npc. It's Freya, in the storehouse if you give the divine rite scroll to Ansbach without showing her first. You can assassinate her that way without facing her in the npc fight at the end.
I appreciate your videos a lot. ❤
18:55 "please make sure you don't accidentally kill Bayle"
What? Bayle isn't a npc
I think he meant Igon and just misspoke.
Those pots were the only crafting materials I've made, just to kill 2 Golems. Crafting in ER is so out of place.
The first tip is an old one
Theyll try and pimp hand you back until you……..dew…it………
If you cant do this in the dlc then that’s a huge change.
I was irritated when I got knocked off Torrent but I understood once I learned Frenzied Flame kills spirits.
Thanks!
Moe's shackle works on the hanging pots as well
Oh nice, ty for the tip
Thanks I’ve been wondering how you get the lily head piece
Jolan and Anna spirit ash is not even in the top 10 strength wise. They’re slightly better than garbage at +10.
The trees of Shadow Land are the exact copies of the spirit trees found in Forbbiden Land and the shape of Shadow Land map loosely resembles Forbbiden Land.
Where did the thinking around Jolan and Anna being one of the most powerful ashes? They've been pretty poor in my playthroughs.
This confused me as well. I was happy to get this duo when I heard of it but did not find them as strong as the Mimic or Black Knife Tiche. I wish they were. That said, I also didn't try them as extensively so it's possible I should have used them more than I did.
@@douglasaccat they die really quick when I've used them. I maxed them out too.
I have always heard that you don't want to go into NG+ before the DLC. Is that Fextralife info saying that it's actually *easier* to do it the first time in NG+? I'm not sure I understand.
Furnace Visage respawn at ruins of unte.
7:48 Yes.😐
Jolan and Anna are a very cool summon but not even close to the best summon in the game. All they do is soak up hits and die in 30 seconds, If you're lucky they proc bleed once or twice but I've had better luck with several other DLC spirits personally.
I just recently got to Enir-Ilim in SoTE so I didn't watch the previous videos due to potential spoilers. I'll circle back to them, esp. the Things You Missed series.
EDIT: Aaaand I got a spoiler here anyway on St. Trina. Damn :(
Silver horns can be farmed in the Manse from the shadow people
Ahhh Dom , my old friend. 💪
… still have no idea what I missed everywhere else. Now I got to go on wiki pedia and figure out wtf the text means.
