how do i make it adapt to my fisheye. When i put my fisheye on it doesnt look like a fisheye when i look through my viewfinder. Help me please. The fisheye was $80 i dont want it to go to waste.
I've recently bought a Panasonic HS700 for animation. The Panasonic's O.I.S system is never fully off and cannot capture 100% steady shots. (watch the first video on my TH-cam page) I've spoken to Panasonic about his and they say "We believe this is a limitation of the OIS technology" I've just bought a HF21 and I'm looking forward to seeing if it has the same 'limitation' Thanks
@infosyncvideos I don't know I buy camcorders to record video not to take pictures. I just bought the canon vixia hf s21 and very impressed with it. If you use Sony Vegas Pro you don't need to install the canon software simply import the media off your hf s21 and you are good to go. The vixia model was also used in a motion picture film, think it was a Julia Roberts movie.
You can also do a comparison by going to vimeo and seeing what people are doing with the cameras. From these two reviews, I am more interested in the Panasonic but I like the idea of bluetooth mics and have seen a lot of Canons work well with lens adapters. Really well.
I'm seriously thinking of buying this one. I got one problem, tough. I'm a musician, and I heard some of these cameras have a automatic volume function (to avoid volume distortion) that cannot be disabled. In my case, I need to be able to connect an external audio source (mixer or mic) and its important that i can control the volume manually. in this camera, can I switch off this auto-volume control?
@Danz2003 Choose whatever camera company you prefer. All of them make great cameras. I've "borrowed" cameras from Amazon and Crutchfield and settled on the TM90. It has a 28mm wide lens, small in size, shoots real 60p, quick performance, great battery life and it sells for $350. My Sony CX700 is going back to Amazon, its frustrating camera I love to hate. The Panasonic TM900 is not an option, has a cooling fan that makes noise, its 35mm wide lens is way too narrow for inside use.
Have you tried to use the down conversion feature (convert HD to SD shots without using the computer)? I would like to know if it works fine and how long does it take to convert.
does it have- audio attenuation & 5.1 surround sound like the hv series does, cant you get a propietary adaptor for non canon shoes mics? can the software that comes with it create a video in mpeg 2 or wmv file types?
How's the focus on this? Can you make a video of it focusing on one object (with a blurry background) then focusing it on another? How fast does it focus? And will it be able to import videos onto Adobe After Effects?

@jasonaugustmusic You are right. You can see more in the low light shots, but it looks really dated and messed up on the Panasonic. On the Canon, it's darker but it just looks better to my eyes and where there is lighting it looks amazing. On a Panasonic HVX200 ($3000) it's like that too, you have to work with manual controls and lighting to get a good image, it doesn't pretend. There's a vid of the HF S21 with a wide angle lens at night on Vimeo that says everything.
@infosyncvideos is the cinema mode of Canon Vixia HF S21 alot better than the Cinema mode of Panasonic HDC HS700? i have watched your videos on both of the camcorders and i see that the panasonic smokes the hf s21 in overall conclusion. how about on this cinema feature? is this one feature that the canon prevailed with a wide margin? or the panasonic made their cinema feature atleast in the level of canon's top feature like what youve said.
@lilajim I purchased both of these cameras and decided to keep the Canon HF S21. I think the video is extremely objective. The Panasonic 60P footage was spectacular! I played that footage on a large screen projector.However, the 60P footage can not be imported in to any third-party editing system -including Final Cut Pro, without being converted and losing resolution. So that is why I returned the Panasonic and went with his suggestion, which clearly seems to be the Canon, to meet my needs.

I am confused between Sony HDR-XR550V, Canon VIXIA HF S21, Panasonic HD 700 HS. Dont know which one to buy. I want some thing solid great quality great features but simple to use. Money is not an issue if I'm getting top notch quality cam. Any one with expert advice out there which will be the best pick mentioned above
I agree with you on the low-light noise for sure. My Vixia hf s10 has very noticeable graininess in low light situations. It's quite frustrating. However, for the money and quality I think the hf s20 is worth it for sure, but the s21 is pushing it on price, just for some extra space. By the time you have 32GB internal and two 32GB SD cards, you have well-exceeded the limits of any battery Canon offers for this. Thanks for the review. It was good.

Hannaleesbrain, you're absolutely correct to keep the HFS 21 and send the HDC TM700 back. The 60P video produced by Panasonic can't be imported by any video process. Both MPEG4 or AVCHD support 60P. So what good is it? There are no Blu Ray programs that support it either. This note for the infosyncvideo jerks that don't even look at many of their own comparisons, I saw a comparison between Panasonic cameras and Canon's HFS 10 and the Canon blew away the Panasonic. Panasonics colors are poor.
@MadSwiima I have the S10 with the DM - 100. It looks fine if you spend the extra 10 bucks or so on a lens hood. And I would highly advise doing so because the DM100 is longer than the camera without the hood and you can sometimes get unwanted shading from its shadow if your light source is directly overhead. If you have that mic, an extra lens, and a lens hood, then it REALLY starts looking beastly!
Hello InfoSync, Love your videos! just a quick question about the hdc tm700, i know u recently reviewed the hdc-hs700k (240gb model). my question is the above camcorder is basically identical to the TM700 so i was wondering if you knew about this issue i read on the internet. it says the 60p mode is not supported by any move editing software? is this true? i was thinking about buying Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10, and i wanted to know if the 60p mode will be editable on this program?

@mikelathrope I am so bad at the technical things, so I had to get some help. Basically, I can use Imovie '09 to edit. However, when I used 24P, I had to convert it through Toast or Clipwrap, so it was no longer HD footage, but standard def. However, I could import directly in to Imovie with HD, when I shot on other settings. Apple Care, which I pay a yearly fee for, could not help me. And Canon Customer Service just kept telling me to use the editing software that comes with the camera.
I've had the Canon HF G10 and the M41 in my home to play with. Both have the same HD CMOS PRO sensor. I was disappointed. The Sony 560/700 was better in low light. I don't care what the reviews say, in my home tests the high end Sony was better. I love the Sony 560/700 image stabilization, It's buttery smooth. Buy 3 of the cameras you are considering from Crutchfield, evaluate them for 60 days, then send 2 of them back. A camera in your hands at home is the best evaluation.

You say that this is the top as far as image quality goes. How come my Canon SX-1 (at less than half the price of the HF S21) records at 42 Mbps and has 20x optical zoom and optical image stabiliser, as well as full manual control (iso, iris & shutter) and the best audio quality I have ever heared to date? So when it comes down to image quality only, there is better for much less $. Why can't Canon incorporate this image quality (@ 42 Mbps) in the HF series? It would double the image detail.
@sweepkeep14 Hey I have a vixia hf s21 and I use it to shoot my parkour videos. Most of the videos on my channel are not shot with the vixia hf s21 (because I just got the camera recently), but the Wednesday Meets video is shot with it and so is the Florida 2010 video which I am uploading as I write this. Check out the Florida video if you want to see what my footage looks like, it is the most accurate representation as I didn't do colour correcting or anything on it, I just put it in order.
@Tobeit I love my Panasonic TM90, its my go camera, fast and great in all aspects and its got a 28mm lens. However my Sony CX700 is a little better in low light, better stabilization and way better sound. Tried the Pana 900, but the darn 35mm wide lens was just too narrow. Now if they could combine the Sony CX700 and the Pana TM90 that would be the camera of the future. Thanks for your channel.

All new HD camcorders do well in normal lighting, what sets them apart is their ability in extreme conditions, low light. The Canon products are bulky and annoying to carry around. Sony 560/700 shoot the best video, sound. Panasonic- most user friendly. In the end, its what you like to carry at the kids functions, birthday parties and Christmas. If you want a camera for tripod use for the family, get the Sony 700, its the best. For an all around carry about camera, get the Panasonic TM90
Image quality is very similar on all the HD cameras. If you are a pixel peeper you'll see some differences and loose sleep. Don't skimp out and get a $300 mid level camera, you'll hate it. And if you don't have a fast computer with tons of memory and HD space, forget all this HD camera stuff and stick to 8mm tape or DVD camcorders. The HD files are HUGE and frustrating to manage. ( shoot 4-5 hours of family video a week)
I settled on the Panasonic TM90 and couldn't be happier. Its faster than the Sony and very small. Buy a Panasonic camcorder and you won't look back, I always shoot in 60p mode. Check out the new Panasonic cameras. X920 for the best or the V520 for the best all around camera that is affordable. I have both. No doubt the X920 is better than the V520, but its $400 more. Get the V520 and be done with it.
I think your on Panasonic's payroll. There is no way 3 - 1/4 inch chips will out-shoot the HF S100's 1/2.6 inch lowlight. The Panasonic is good, but the HF S line has a better concept, 3 chip cameras are going the way of the wind. There is no reason to have them around. Plus the Panasonic overcompensates for a small grainy sensor array over over-saturating the image in low light.
CONTINUED: **Also, currently using a Sony SR11 (very good camera, but looking for something with a bit more jazz in the video quality). You can see his videos with the SR11 under "Dylan Faucheux."
You can fit a Rode videomic if you buy a pearlstone adapter. I got mine from B&H, works great.

All new HD camcorders do well in normal lighting, what sets them apart is their ability in extreme conditions, low light. The Canon products are bulky and annoying to carry around. Sony 560/700 shoot the best video, sound. Panasonic- most user friendly. In the end, its what you like to carry at the kids functions, birthday parties and Christmas. If you want a camera for tripod use for the family, get the Sony 700, its the best. For an all around carry about camera, get the Panasonic TM90
Image quality is very similar on all the HD cameras. If you are a pixel peeper you'll see some differences and loose sleep. Don't skimp out and get a $300 mid level camera, you'll hate it.
And if you don't have a fast computer with tons of memory and HD space, forget all this HD camera stuff and stick to 8mm tape or DVD camcorders. The HD files are HUGE and frustrating to manage. ( shoot 4-5 hours of family video a week)

I settled on the Panasonic TM90 and couldn't be happier. Its faster than the Sony and very small. Buy a Panasonic camcorder and you won't look back, I always shoot in 60p mode. Check out the new Panasonic cameras. X920 for the best or the V520 for the best all around camera that is affordable. I have both. No doubt the X920 is better than the V520, but its $400 more. Get the V520 and be done with it.
Sony 560/700 is the best in low light. My basement test proved it to me. Compared it to the Canon Hf G10.

I think your on Panasonic's payroll. There is no way 3 - 1/4 inch chips will out-shoot the HF S100's 1/2.6 inch lowlight. The Panasonic is good, but the HF S line has a better concept, 3 chip cameras are going the way of the wind. There is no reason to have them around. Plus the Panasonic overcompensates for a small grainy sensor array over over-saturating the image in low light.
