Just FYI, tucked away under the command menu at the bottom, under doctrine and blueprints, you can "prioritize" your favorite ships, and everything else will show up less often in your faction's fleets. It can help you get less fuel/transport ships in your attack fleets. Edit: I opened the game up so I could actually explain how to find it properly lol. Fixed my comment.
Is it an in-game setting or something you would find in mod settings? And is it possible to disable certain specific ships that you don't want in your patrol fleets?
@@rzabat1863 Yeah, it's in-game and it's a vanilla feature. Click the command tab at the bottom of the screen, go to the 4th tab (Doctrine & Blueprints), and then "prioritize" the ships you want. The ships you didn't prioritize will show up less often.
One, because it is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels. Two, that signal is over a thousand feet high. The entire Royal Navy is out looking for me. Do you really think that there is even the slightest chance that they won't see it?
10:15 I think that ship is meamt to be an FTL reference considering that it's almost identical to the final boss from that game, has the federation paintscheme and has the weapons mounted on the same points. Edit: It's also called a “Rebellion Class Assault Battleship” and in FTL it's called the Rebel Flagship.
honestly i think the only thing keeping the rebellion from being really accurate to the game is how the sides can't be blown off. but otherwise it's a beast, just like the actual rebel flagship especially against stations
I’ve become thoroughly obsessed with Starsector over the last couple months, and thanks to your videos have realized I play way too nice. I’m sitting there thinking, why is it telling me what the smugglers are smugglin’? Why am I taking all this time to chill with my main fleet around my one sad planet for an expedition force that couldn’t de-wing a fly? WHY DO I ALLOW THE HEGEMONY TO LIVE? *cough* Anyway. You’ve definitely inspired me to indulge in some more…brutish impulses when next I play.
yeah, make friends with the league so that you get free reign with your AI and just savage anyone who dares attack the league. Steal all the cool shit from planets
You should get a group of youtubers together and start on the same seed with a challenge of who can build the biggest empire by cycle 220 or something like that
Doing TH-cam fulltime must be a scary venture for you. Although I thought you were already a fulltimer judging by the videos you are putting out. I say you'll do just fine. You have a way of delivering your journeys in a very funny and relatable way. You also know how to set intriguing goals for the viewer. You are a good storyteller whether you know it or not.
Just loved this. I've tried stuff like this, and modded StarSector is just as perfect as modded Rimworld. I'm glad you're a man of culture as well. Keep it up man, you have criminally low subcount but the algorithm is always watching!
Man, I have played vanilla starsector countless times. nexerelin is something else. My first game so far has been a struggle for survival. this guy starts as a pirate hostile with everyone and kicks ass. In a modded game with more high tech toys that can kick your ass. good content my man. that was very enjoyable.
14:21 Haha, believe or not, but that mining ship used to be so badass it had to be nerfed. Flux stats are kinda crap but it could fit so many hammers and energy blasters.
They can be quite expensive, but by putting an Outpost on a planet, the AI can't beat you to it - they won't colonise because there's technically already a colony, and they won't invade because Outpost.
Wow man! I have never seen anyone make Starsector content past the sseth video, what an amazing game worthy of our time. You are an absolute beast at this game holy shit! because I haven't seen any Starsector content my only reference was my own experiences with the game, I never knew you could do such crazy things with your own ship I kind of always played with autopilot while giving commands, more like a strategy game. Thank you for this great content, please keep it up!
After testing it a bit recently, I have found out that if you enjoy reapers and mobility the pirate version of the Falcon is phenomenal. With expanded missile racks and the missile specialization trait you get between fifteen and (the only true way to go) sixty. With the ability to increase speed and maneuverability it is super easy to get behind big enemy ships and melt them, and it has a built-in unstable injector. 150ish speed on a cruiser is just great.
Thumpers on enforcer are glorious, enforcer has tons of slots and no flux with makes tumpers with thier absurdly good flux to damage ration best weapon.
That capital mining ship from your support fleet is a beast. Can actually mine a load of resources, has an innate perk which will automatically fill up empty gun mounts with mining lasers for free, has 2 thermal cannons that are good at least to the medium-late game and takes a whole lot of missiles. I also think that it has missile forge installed in it. Either way, a beast to start the game with and a great ship for exploration/salvaging.
I have been enjoying these videos very much, they slap with some good commentary, funny points here and there, as well as some fantastic battles. I will absolutely play this game in the near future!
You got to love Rarr's Startsector runs. He's making a space pirate's dangerous life sound like its fun. I recently purchased the game and all I could do are low to medium level bounties.
10:58 there's a pristine nanoforge installed in the orbital works to the left. Not sure what the point of raiding the hegemony is if you already have one but go for it
My fleet battle ini get's altered depending on my whim, keeping a fleet of a hundred ships fuelled and supplied is a challenge but doable, it's just a shame you can deploy and end up sandwiching your fleets. I should download another few mods, always like ships with inbuilt special weapons, or the unique ships like the yamato.
Holy shit I completely forgot about this game. Have a key somewhere from the Starfarer days still. Absolutely entertaining video lol. Thanks for this great reminder.
4:05 Expanded magazines for thumpers don't do anything unless your mods have somehow changed the weapon mechanics. I also made this mistake when I started playing. Otherwise, it's a good build.
Rarr dont underestimate mining ships from Vayra pack. Bear is armed with 2 large mining blaster weapons which are basically plasma cannons with little more range but able to mine stuff.
I gave the bear ship ago when I did my little live stream and it does slap hard. I put a shit ton of hammers on It and it worked like a treat. However the 60 cost was just a bit too much for me
Hey rarr its me again glad to see you did a video on being a pirate in space and doing a bunch of wacky stuff... Speaking about space and doing wacky stuff did you know in RimWorld you could the same with doing the Cassandra Classic Experience Video? But nonetheless love the content and have a good one.
you forget pirates are extremely adabtable faction, i once sold some capital ship blue prints to pirates and soon after i saw pirate raid with 3 paragons and 5 astrals in the front eradicating hedgemony.
Trading? Boooooring! Colony? Zzzzzzz This is the best way to play most space games, at least for me, and Starsector has so much nuance that this style becomes even better than anywhere else!
found your channel by accident, was not disappointed as i would pay to get this kind of content daily keep up the great work man! (P.S it said in the video you were going to stream the rest where can i find this stream or are you editing it into a video?)
slowly starting to realize how rare a pristine nano forge actually is. i found one in my first attempt at playing but didnt know what to do with is so i sold it
u know lowtech doesnt mean poor its just a differention of kinetic weapons and armor vs lasers and shields. pirates however often use repurposed freighters that have been weaponized.
I would like to announce that I thoroughly enjoyed the video
I appreciate that!
🏔
I'm from the future, your announcement is still being appreciated.

The Star Federation mod is a whole mod based on FTL and its ships, yeah

Star federation is my favourite mod, its not just hulls based off ftl but it includes stuff like zoltan shields. Really cool

Starsector is such a hidden gem👌🏼
"That has to be the best pirate I've ever seen."
"So it would seem."
I also thoroughly enjoyed this film.

Man when you said you were done with starsector in the last video I got so scared but here we are blessed once more by Ludd himself
11:45 Well I mean it does have a passive missile auto forge, for nigh infinite missiles.

"Pirates are just an annoyance", meanwhile the Legio Infernalis and Cabal stare with malicious intent

Starsector with mods is the kost addicting thing.
There are nearly infinite combination of ships and weapons to try out and you never feel satisfied.

Appreciate it!
The best Pirate startoff is with the mod "Infernal Machine" Lets you start off with a shitty pirate battle wagon that you can upgrade to a death wagon
I'm indeed trying this startoff, I do hope to get the infernal machine running to its full potential.
I love your starsector vids
I think you’re quite easily the best starsector youtuber, just cuz of your editing and content.
I suppose it helps that (unfortunately), there hasn't been much competition in the Starsector community as far as youtubers of his size are concerned.
Rarr drifting the enforcer and shouting "get some of these" as he reapers the ship is fucking classic
Hype for the next one to be put on, hope it will have a nice story on it, forward about it
