I like these Class 93's and I looking forward to the day the Class 99's arrive. Also I hope DB Cargo will buy the Class 99's as the Class 99/3's to replace the Class 60's. I like the style of these and they are perfect for the UK.
The location of the side window is obstructed with modern control panels and so it wouldn't be much use. Plus at speed sliding windows leak and they rattle. Stadler's modern cabs are designed to be quiet, warm and comfortable work places, unlike those of a 37 or 47. Besides all that you can just open the door if you need an outside view, it's right next to the drivers console.
