I just finished rewatching Rob Has a Podcast for survivor Cagayan. I found it touching how in the finale recap, Stephen Fishbach was upset that Brice wasn’t given any time to speak at the reunion! Game recognize game even a decade ago! Great podcast as always! James is a good guest

Agreed. I wish players would stay out of the comments when their seasons are ongoing. They're not fans for that season and they should respect that boundary.

Agree with every one of Jack’s takes on Bruce. He will be voted off in the next 2-3 tribals for sure. Just rewatched the episode and not a single person called Bruce a “threat” they are calling him a “liability.” Stark difference.
I think there’s a difference between having “good social capital” and managing to hang in *despite* your behavior. Bruce failed to carry out his stated game plan of being the chill uncle. Brando said that Bruce would have been the likely boot if original Belo had ever gone to tribal. He has in particular alienated women-I don’t think that’s a coincidence. I think you can give him some credit for being more observant than his archetype typically is, but I wouldn’t credit much else to him as a reason why he’s gotten this far.
I think I agree with Jack here, the difference for me between Gabler and Bruce is that, it seemed like people just didn’t take Gabler seriously whereas, people do take Bruce seriously but actively dislike him. I feel like Bruce is the most set up to go when Belo eventually takes a hit

Gabler and Bruce are only superficially similar as players. Gabler annoyed people, but he also knew how to make people feel special and work across tribal lines. Bruce doesn't seem interested in doing the latter beyond making Jake and Kellie feel special.
Gabler literally won off the back of social connections. James is the only player who didn’t vote gabler its not surprising he is trying to disparage his game imo

I don’t wanna blame it all on James here, as I do love me some James, but what are you even talking about bro?! 🤣 A school yard pick would never work.. I do get what he is trying to say and on some level I even agree that the players should have more control, rather than it being random.. But, Jack is 100% right on this point. Only two player would end up with power. I don’t think James would be singing this same tune had he been picked last on his season with a tribe that had 4 people against him..😅 The bigger point here was actually brought up by Brice.. If they didn’t do this stupid split at twelve, they wouldn’t even have to do the stupid rock draw! That would take all the randomness out of this and the players would have more power and control just like James wishes they would have. Right??
Disagree with James: 'There's nothing Bruce could have done to lower his threat level' - Based off the edit it seems like he could. We seen his tribe talk about how annoying he is and shortsighted/'my way or the high way' attitude that he has and that's the reason why they wanted him out. Kellie kept Bruce because he was her number and she knows losing him give the opposite side more numbers. Not really because Bruce is actually a good player or have great social bonds with people. I agree with Jack w/ 99% of what he is saying. The optimal move for Kaleb was to try to force a rock draw. All of his allies was with Belo (Katurah, Jake, and Kellie). Even if they go to the rock draw, he would be safe. I do agree with Jake that Austin would have flipped and even if he did not the likelihood of Kaleb being safe is pretty solid. I agree that this was a solid move of Katurah if the logic was 'I did not want to go to rocks'. That was not in the edit. Based off the edit, it was a bad move because the reason she voted Kaleb out was because he withheld information for 1.5 days in which there were little time to talk given his neck was on the line and that they had a couple challenges sandwich in-between. Going from the known to the unknown. Great pod/recap.
Reba was scared of getting rid Kaleb at first b/c they thought it would be the same as targeting a Belo. Sure, Bruce opened the door but I wouldn't say he directed the Kaleb vote at all. Getting rid of Kaleb for Reba was common sense- it kept Reba strong & gets rid of a real threat to everyones game

Kellie protected Bruce because she needs numbers. She said Bruce is loyal to HER so she doesn’t want to get rid of him. Kellie is the head honcho and is protecting his feelings because he is an emotional player(we never talk about men being emotional players). Kellie understood that they didn’t know what was going to happen at the other tribal so she HAD to keep Bruce. Also, was Kendra not the person who brought Kaleb up at the merge feast ?
James people take shots at standouts all the time correct but they typically have allies! Kaleb had NO allies He was a sitting duck. Bruce is getting too much credit for what everyone was already going to do
James did that gravity analogy right with Bruce and Caleb and Bruce and Kelly. You need to ally with a person that thinks they can beat you and that you can beat them!!
I think Katurah made the right move with the information she had from Jake. I would not have been willing to risk my game for someone who basically just told me I’m on the bottom of their tribe. Jake should have just let Kaleb tell her about it bc Jake made it so much worse. Kaleb also said Austin did want to work with him but he wasn’t ready to turn on Julie and Dee this early in the merge so Kaleb said his only shot was Katurah working with them. I think had their been better social management Katurah could have been swayed. I do agree with Jack that I don’t really know where she is going to land now. I don’t see her fitting back in with Bello and I think Drew and Austin have more loyalty to Emily so Katurah would be on the bottom there.
