- Here we search for and find some arrowheads in our friends freshly plowed field near the Susquehanna River. Hunting for arrowheads is a great way to get exercise, spend time with the family and get out into nature. We had fun falling in the mud, having mud ball fights and just getting some fresh air.
Let us know what you think of what we found, if you have any tips or general feedback :)
I love taking my girls relic hunting. I quit walking muddy ground like this years ago. I found out that you concentrate on keeping mud off our boots than actually arrowhead hunting. I want the ground wet but not soupy for walking. Good luck!
@placescott2316, thanks for the note, good luck with your relic hunting! :)
I just had a major chuckle fest...used to take my 3 girls "Stompin' " ie arrowhead hunting...and spent half my time pulling either them or their boots outa the muck...thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the note Jonathan! Yes, I'm sure it will be good memories for years to come. Much better than spending time on the sofa! :)
The white one looks like a blade. The one before the white one I believe is just natural or a flake. Can't really tell for sure through video. But good job. I live by the Susquehanna and how found some and once you get used to what it looks like to find a worked piece you will won't mistake it again.
Great, thanks for the notes @nicholesnyder7672, we can't wait to get out again! :)
That location is about as prime as it gets for Native American artifact hunting in PA. Occupation in that area goes all the way back to paleo times. I recommend going back after this week's rain. Should wash the field out pretty good.
Cool, thanks for the info! Yes, we are looking forward to going back to that area, we may try walking along the Susquehanna while fishing to see if we can find anything :)
First thing u picked was a portion of turtle shell. Probably a snapping turtle went to lay eggs in the field sometime ago.
Oh Wow! I had no idea, thanks for letting me know and for watching! :)
