BEAUTY NEWS I was reading reviews on the ULTA exclusive mini set, and it seemed like people who never tried Benefit blushes and bronzers liked them, but people who had said some were very different in texture and tone.
I can see the difference in the ulta minis vs the normal benefit blushes or even the palette. But aren`t there also minis in boxes and not plastic packaging ? because I think the mini Boxes are the same as the big boxes

A good dupe for Galifornia if you like the gold shimmers would be the tarte amazonian clay 12 hour blush in the color Sweet- I have both blushes and love them both
It's misleading and a waste of money. I'd rather they drop the price or give me more product. They are very annoying. Plus you have to waste product to get them off. Makes zero sense practically.
Here in Spain people noticed the ingredients difference, they asked Sephora and Sephora swapped every mini for the full size without extra charge, even if people didn't have the ticket or if it was bought years ago
I really think they should have said," we came out with some great mini versions, but to make mini 3 of formulas are now our powder formula you know and love from hula." Could have explained that and people would have still bought them. Now they just look all sneaky and unpleasant. Bad business decision
Well, that's extremely sneaky, Benefit. I wonder how long they've been doing this? Surely some of their PR people have noticed a difference, getting every single launch, but I've never heard anyone confirm it before and their boxed blushes are one of their core products.. this mini set isn't completely new, is it? I've seen those plastic minis floating around for awhile.. someone had to have noticed some differences. It really wouldn't be too big of a deal if they bothered to get the colour spot on, although someone might fall in love with the mini formula then buy the big one and still be disappointed, so no, it's shitty of them all around. Rose Ella-Grace I am totally agreeing with you. I got galifornia mini blush quite a while ago and it become my fav one and I was planning to get the bigger version but thankfully I saw this video. This is just so misleading customers as a brand.
This sucks, especially for people that may want to get the mini's to cut the cost. It's like Benefit is telling people if you too cheap for the full sizes then you can get half the quality.
I just grabbed my cheek parade palette and my mini Glaifornia and swatched them and was like wtf! Wtf would we do without you guys? We’d be getting robbed by numerous makeup companies because these rich Beauty gurus told us to go out and buy it! I’m sorry Jeffree where’s your spatular Hun?
Berna Aksoz I wouldn’t say there’s a problem with either, they’re just different formulas and colours, both good blushes and beautiful colours! Just not the exact same.
Where I live the minis aren't even a steal, you literally get half the product for half the original price. So might as well spend full price on a full sized product :/ So disappointed in Benefit
+Lauren If you actually read what they said, they pointed it that it different from where they live. And if you know how makeup can sell for many different prices around the world then yes maybe the mini set isn't exactly worth it from where they are at.
If the minis where you are are in the cardboard packaging exactly like the full sizes just smaller then they aren't like the ones in the video, they are proper minis in the original formula and with the overspray on - I have some of these ones myself.
I will say though, I have the blush bunch and adore it, the Gold Rush blush bunch version is, in my opinion, better than the full sized one. The only shade that wasn't great in the blush bunch was the Galifornia.
SeabassFishbrains The thing I like the most about the bunch was that it didn’t have an over spray. I have a few purely powder blushes and wanted to try these because of the creamier formula. How did you like Hoola Lite compared to Hoola? I have Hoola and wanted to try the lighter version but I wonder if it’s even worth my time.
Kristen Lauritano I literally have albinism, I'm a fenty 100-110, and I wouldn't recommend Hula Lite for anyone darker than me, atleast not the one from the blush bunch (I don't have the full size yet). For me it's perfect because I can go in as hard as I want to and never worry about it being too much or too orange but Hula Lite could be an under eye setting powder for someone with medium skin or a matte highlight for someone with tan skin. Overall I'd say: If you have a really hard time finding foundations that you don't have to white mix, then Hula Lite should be great for you, but if most brands carry your foundation shade (especially if that shade isn't always the lightest shade available) then it might be to light for you.

It would be so easy for the untrained eye to assume one of these was a bad fake with that awful colour matching. How can such a big company get something so simple, so wrong?!
"How can such a big company get something so simple, so wrong?!" -- Benefit uses a minimum of four manufacturers: Italy, France, China, and the US. Each manufacturer owns the formulation so while they can copy the color (to a degree) they can't copy the formulation. As a result it'll be radically different. This is actually what got BECCA into trouble a few years ago with the Champagne Pop shadows. Normally their US manufacturer makes their products but for whatever reason they went to China with it which resulted in a bad formulation.
zadidoll That’s interesting to know. Would like to add that China actually has good formulating labs because they make stuff for Nyx, Wet n Wild, etc and their own domestic labels. From what I can see, a lab can definitely reformulate to match the shade perfectly which explains those crazy exact dupe eyeshadows. The REAL ISSUE is, someone at Benefit is definitely aware that these minis are different and yet allowed them to be sold while misrepresented as being same as the larger pans. It’s basically cost-cutting.
I have minis that are packaged in cardboard like the big ones and they do (well did!) have the overspray on them. These are sold individually here in the UK. Why so complicated Benefit!
I agree with you. I have the mini cardboard box of Gold Rush and it's the same formula as the larger box set in the UK with the gold highlighter quality infused throughout. Not like the one shown in the mini on this video. Must be different in different countries I guess.

I bought the minis as my first benefit blushes. Now i know why i wasn't impressed. I like the radiant finish of the full sizes better. I might have to invest in those eventually because they look so much nicer. Thanks for this video!
I think they changed the formula for those. I bought a mini a long time ago and the formula for that one was amazing. I recently got another mini in a box and the formula was completely different, the new one is more powdery and almost chalky.
Finding all this out really does tick me off a bit as I feel it is purposely deceiving on the part of Benefit esp Galifornia. How in the hell they can sell the mini versions without noting they are really very different is beyond me. But I’m so grateful to this channel as this video is a prime example of how you great ladies better inform consumers often doing the damn jobs of the companies since they won’t do a good enough job of their own. yup. I bought the mini set and bought them hoping to find a new blush. Well looks like even if I do like them, i won't be getting the same thing from the full sized so...I can see it either as a waste o f money (because i'll have to compare another way) or that i got a limited set that i can't purchase the colours anymore. either way sucks

I bought the minis online to try benefit blush and wasn’t loving them. It’s interesting to see I might have a different experience if I bought the full sized. But I’m also kinda pissed off about it cause I wouldn’t have bought the minis if I had known
AT LAST!!!!! Benefit blush videos is exactly what I've been waiting for. I once thought about returning my palette and exchange for the minis to save some money when I first knew about the minis' existence, but now I'm just really glad I didn't.
I use scotch tape to fix hard panning on my powders. If that's what it is...its oil from your skin transferring to the product making color payoff damn near impossible. I just use the tape to lift off the top layer and BAM pigment :)
I really liked the packaging of the blush bunches. They stacked so nicely and I could take exactly the shade I wanted and nothing more. I wish I could get hoola lite in a mini regularly, because I never come close to hitting pan before hitting best by date.
I bought the blush bar to see if I'd like the Gold Rush blush, and I loved the mini enough to buy the large size since I was going through it pretty quick. I always wondered why I liked the large a little less... The formula is nicer, but I prefer the color of the mini! Get it together, Benefit.

Honestly benefit is so shady. All their samples are such a bad quality and never the same as the full size. It really doesn't make you want to buy the full size because the samples are such a terrible quality

I knew the formulas were different but bought them anyway for travel. Rocketeur and hula are my faves and it is so nice to toss the two tiny versions into a bag. Close enough for travel purposes.
So fun story, Benefit also released sets with miniature blushes and a few other things. I own the galifornia mini blush from this kit and it is also the remade formula
Ulta is really being shady. If someone with allergies checked the ingredients of the minis online and saw incorrect ingredient information, they could end up buying something they can't even use and have to return, or even have an allergic reaction. This is dangerous!
You should do this with the too faced better than sex mascara. I don’t know how you would but I swear the sample is different than the full! I Hate the full but I love the sample....🤔 the full clumps more and feels more wet....not sure why and maybe it’s just me but it would be interesting to look in to!

Thank you for this, it's satisfying to know the truth, even if I feel a bit pissed off with benefit for trying to pass off two different products as the same thing. I'm inspired to do some detective work next time I'm in Boots, which sells the minis on stands in a lot of their shops as well as having counters in some bigger branches. Are the mini brow products and mascaras also different from the full size formula? Enquiring minds want to know.

You can clearly see that the colours were different. Kind of sad because those three especially are so beautiful so it would be nice to test them out in the mini size
i actually like the colors of the minis more (the originals never appealed to me, due to the overspray) but i still wouldn't get them because as soon as i run out, i'd go to get the big, and it would be something completely different... tho the boxed ones have a much better formula of course! big fail for benefit
This is so stupid to me. I mean, you can get those colours from ANY brand. What makes the product is the combination of the colour WITH the application. So say you wanted to try the products and got the minis, hated them, you wouldn't buy the full priced ones, so they're losing out there. And let's say you loved the minis, and were disappointed with the full price, you won't buy them again, so they lose your money there. I don't get it. It's lose-lose. Is it just me or is this a really stupid idea in terms of brand loyalty and repurchasing?

I got the Galifornia mini from a set and prefer its color vs the full sized one because it fits my complexion better. But I wouldn't have known it was a different color from the full size if it weren't from you guys.

I've always been interested in buying the majority of the Benefit Box Blushes, especially after buying Hoola & loving it! But. . There's always been something whare that's been released that draws me in, so I tend to go for the new product instead of trying these box blushes. I LOVE me a good mini bc I have WAY more makeup then I need & I'm always switching the products I use almost daily in am attempt to use everything I own. I think the individual mini box blushes are probably more like the original versions. (I believe they're $12 USD for each mini box blush.) I will most likely be buying the individual box blushes BUT it is Slightly annoying to me that they've chosen certain shades to make the mini's in. . lije Hoola, Hoola Light, dandelion, Gold Rush, Galifornia, & I believe Dandelion Twinkle. I really want to try Dallas but I don't believe it's available in the mini, along with a few others. Now. . I'd love to get the palette bc I'm interested in 4 of the 5 shades (I'm thinking Dandelion is possibly too light of a baby pink for my medium skin tone), But I'll still have to buy Dallas separate AND I'm not a Huge blush person so I always feel like full sizes are too much product for me & they'll expire b4 I have the chance to use even half of them. Dallas is the only blush I think I'd actually got pan on bc I love nude blushes on a daily basis but I do like matching my blush to my looks, hence why I want some of the other shades. Il I'm hesitant on buying too many Plushies but yet all by 3 eyeshadow palettes in one day knowing that I have 50-60 other eyeshadow palettes @ home. . Half of them that I've purchased & haven't even tried yet. . Bc I'm an eye product collector/Lover. (Eyeshadow palettes. . singles. .potted cream shadows. . Liquid shadows, especially the ones from Stila (I currently own 9 & have my eye on a couple more). .liners in all colors in pencil, liquid pen & cream/gel. . Etc. Highlighters too, in singles & palettes AND I enjoy sculpting contour palettes but I try to keep it @ a decent number; as I count finding out I own 5 contour/bronzer/blush/highlighter combo type palettes. Smh. I'm a hot mess not realizing how many of certain types of makeup items I own. *sigh* l'm gonna need a makeup intervention soon if I can't get it together but these damn companies keep brining out these beautiful colorful palettes that I love so much. Someone help! Lol. The way I see it, @ least I'm addicted to makeup & not alcohol or Drugs (anymore. I was a drug addict. .poor choices, I know, but @ the time I was super Depressed & couldn't cope. I'm 2 years sober & found a new hobby/love with makeup. I'll take a makeup addiction over a drug addiction ANY DAY! (But I really do need to pull it back a bit on my new makeup purchases bc it's gotten way outta hand. I literally just bought 3 new acrylic drawers systems a few months ago back in March and they are already overflowing. I hate the Ikea drawers but I'm starting to think that I might have to switch my setup to the clear drawers from The Container Store because I don't have anymore room for any more new acrylic organizer drawer systems. . Or @ least learn to buy the bigger option. (I get a 3 drawer acrylic drawer system on Amazon.com for $39.99 USD but they do have a 5 drawer system for $$49.99 or $59.99 USD. Truthfully, I honestly just need to break down and get a vanity because right now I'm using the top of my dresser & a kitchen 3 shelf rack off to the side to hold all of my acrylic organizers & I don't even have any more room on my dresser OR the rack to hold another acrylic organizer. Man, before I went cruelty free I would have killed for one of those blush palettes. I loved Hervana and am still trying to find something to replace it with when it runs out. They do make gorgeous full sized blushes.
I was wanted to purchase the bigger box but unfortunately everywhere is out of stock, and I found the mini might be a alternative for a good try. I never use their blusher and I’m sure I want the original design and colour. And thanks so much for the video to clear the misleading of the product itself, provided a very good reference and information to customers to decide and know what are they buying

I have minis that are packaged in cardboard like the big ones and they do (well did!) have the overspray on them. These are sold individually here in the UK. Why so complicated Benefit!

I agree with you. I have the mini cardboard box of Gold Rush and it's the same formula as the larger box set in the UK with the gold highlighter quality infused throughout. Not like the one shown in the mini on this video. Must be different in different countries I guess.

I bought the minis as my first benefit blushes. Now i know why i wasn't impressed. I like the radiant finish of the full sizes better. I might have to invest in those eventually because they look so much nicer. Thanks for this video!

I think they changed the formula for those. I bought a mini a long time ago and the formula for that one was amazing. I recently got another mini in a box and the formula was completely different, the new one is more powdery and almost chalky.

Finding all this out really does tick me off a bit as I feel it is purposely deceiving on the part of Benefit esp Galifornia. How in the hell they can sell the mini versions without noting they are really very different is beyond me. But I’m so grateful to this channel as this video is a prime example of how you great ladies better inform consumers often doing the damn jobs of the companies since they won’t do a good enough job of their own. Looking forward to supporting u ladies when the TH-cam support button finally goes live!
yup. I bought the mini set and bought them hoping to find a new blush. Well looks like even if I do like them, i won't be getting the same thing from the full sized so...I can see it either as a waste o f money (because i'll have to compare another way) or that i got a limited set that i can't purchase the colours anymore. either way sucks

I bought the minis online to try benefit blush and wasn’t loving them. It’s interesting to see I might have a different experience if I bought the full sized. But I’m also kinda pissed off about it cause I wouldn’t have bought the minis if I had known

I once thought about returning my palette and exchange for the minis to save some money when I first knew about the minis' existence, but now I'm just really glad I didn't.

I use scotch tape to fix hard panning on my powders. If that's what it is...its oil from your skin transferring to the product making color payoff damn near impossible. I just use the tape to lift off the top layer and BAM pigment :)
I really liked the packaging of the blush bunches. They stacked so nicely and I could take exactly the shade I wanted and nothing more. I wish I could get hoola lite in a mini regularly, because I never come close to hitting pan before hitting best by date.
I bought the blush bar to see if I'd like the Gold Rush blush, and I loved the mini enough to buy the large size since I was going through it pretty quick. I always wondered why I liked the large a little less... The formula is nicer, but I prefer the color of the mini! Get it together, Benefit.
OMG this video seriously could not have come at a better time! I was seriously thinking about buying the minis but was worried about what people were saying about the differences and this confirms it!
Honestly benefit is so shady. All their samples are such a bad quality and never the same as the full size. It really doesn't make you want to buy the full size because the samples are such a terrible quality

I knew the formulas were different but bought them anyway for travel. Rocketeur and hula are my faves and it is so nice to toss the two tiny versions into a bag. Close enough for travel purposes.
So fun story, Benefit also released sets with miniature blushes and a few other things. I own the galifornia mini blush from this kit and it is also the remade formula

Ulta is really being shady. If someone with allergies checked the ingredients of the minis online and saw incorrect ingredient information, they could end up buying something they can't even use and have to return, or even have an allergic reaction. This is dangerous!

You should do this with the too faced better than sex mascara. I don’t know how you would but I swear the sample is different than the full! I Hate the full but I love the sample....🤔 the full clumps more and feels more wet....not sure why and maybe it’s just me but it would be interesting to look in to!

Thank you for this, it's satisfying to know the truth, even if I feel a bit pissed off with benefit for trying to pass off two different products as the same thing. I'm inspired to do some detective work next time I'm in Boots, which sells the minis on stands in a lot of their shops as well as having counters in some bigger branches. Are the mini brow products and mascaras also different from the full size formula? Enquiring minds want to know.

i actually like the colors of the minis more (the originals never appealed to me, due to the overspray) but i still wouldn't get them because as soon as i run out, i'd go to get the big, and it would be something completely different... tho the boxed ones have a much better formula of course! big fail for benefit
This is so stupid to me. I mean, you can get those colours from ANY brand. What makes the product is the combination of the colour WITH the application. So say you wanted to try the products and got the minis, hated them, you wouldn't buy the full priced ones, so they're losing out there. And let's say you loved the minis, and were disappointed with the full price, you won't buy them again, so they lose your money there. I don't get it. It's lose-lose. Is it just me or is this a really stupid idea in terms of brand loyalty and repurchasing?

I got the Galifornia mini from a set and prefer its color vs the full sized one because it fits my complexion better. But I wouldn't have known it was a different color from the full size if it weren't from you guys.

I've always been interested in buying the majority of the Benefit Box Blushes, especially after buying Hoola & loving it! But. . There's always been something whare that's been released that draws me in, so I tend to go for the new product instead of trying these box blushes. I LOVE me a good mini bc I have WAY more makeup then I need & I'm always switching the products I use almost daily in am attempt to use everything I own. I think the individual mini box blushes are probably more like the original versions. (I believe they're $12 USD for each mini box blush.) I will most likely be buying the individual box blushes BUT it is Slightly annoying to me that they've chosen certain shades to make the mini's in. . lije Hoola, Hoola Light, dandelion, Gold Rush, Galifornia, & I believe Dandelion Twinkle. I really want to try Dallas but I don't believe it's available in the mini, along with a few others. Now. . I'd love to get the palette bc I'm interested in 4 of the 5 shades (I'm thinking Dandelion is possibly too light of a baby pink for my medium skin tone), But I'll still have to buy Dallas separate AND I'm not a Huge blush person so I always feel like full sizes are too much product for me & they'll expire b4 I have the chance to use even half of them. Dallas is the only blush I think I'd actually got pan on bc I love nude blushes on a daily basis but I do like matching my blush to my looks, hence why I want some of the other shades.
Il I'm hesitant on buying too many Plushies but yet all by 3 eyeshadow palettes in one day knowing that I have 50-60 other eyeshadow palettes @ home. . Half of them that I've purchased & haven't even tried yet. . Bc I'm an eye product collector/Lover. (Eyeshadow palettes. . singles. .potted cream shadows. . Liquid shadows, especially the ones from Stila (I currently own 9 & have my eye on a couple more). .liners in all colors in pencil, liquid pen & cream/gel. . Etc. Highlighters too, in singles & palettes AND I enjoy sculpting contour palettes but I try to keep it @ a decent number; as I count finding out I own 5 contour/bronzer/blush/highlighter combo type palettes. Smh. I'm a hot mess not realizing how many of certain types of makeup items I own. *sigh* l'm gonna need a makeup intervention soon if I can't get it together but these damn companies keep brining out these beautiful colorful palettes that I love so much. Someone help! Lol.
The way I see it, @ least I'm addicted to makeup & not alcohol or Drugs (anymore. I was a drug addict. .poor choices, I know, but @ the time I was super Depressed & couldn't cope. I'm 2 years sober & found a new hobby/love with makeup. I'll take a makeup addiction over a drug addiction ANY DAY! (But I really do need to pull it back a bit on my new makeup purchases bc it's gotten way outta hand. I literally just bought 3 new acrylic drawers systems a few months ago back in March and they are already overflowing. I hate the Ikea drawers but I'm starting to think that I might have to switch my setup to the clear drawers from The Container Store because I don't have anymore room for any more new acrylic organizer drawer systems. . Or @ least learn to buy the bigger option. (I get a 3 drawer acrylic drawer system on Amazon.com for $39.99 USD but they do have a 5 drawer system for $$49.99 or $59.99 USD. Truthfully, I honestly just need to break down and get a vanity because right now I'm using the top of my dresser & a kitchen 3 shelf rack off to the side to hold all of my acrylic organizers & I don't even have any more room on my dresser OR the rack to hold another acrylic organizer. Plz Give me some ideas!)

Man, before I went cruelty free I would have killed for one of those blush palettes. I loved Hervana and am still trying to find something to replace it with when it runs out. They do make gorgeous full sized blushes.

I was wanted to purchase the bigger box but unfortunately everywhere is out of stock, and I found the mini might be a alternative for a good try. I never use their blusher and I’m sure I want the original design and colour. And thanks so much for the video to clear the misleading of the product itself, provided a very good reference and information to customers to decide and know what are they buying

My mini blush lasted me over 1 year! They are quite pigmented so you can just barely touch it with your brush!
I just got the palatte and looooove it but seeing it destroyed is heartbreaking .... and also so satisfying.
