I was in Stacey's class throughout middle and high school. I've got so many memories of her, but here's a few: the day back in '79 or so when she first wore her artificial arms to school (she told me she hated them); the time she tried to teach me how to write with my toes, a skill I practiced and practiced on to little result; and the day in gym when she climbed on top of a table (which was put up next to a ping-pong table) so she could play me in a game of ping-pong - and she beat me at it, too.
It's almost 30 years now that she's gone - more time than she actually lived. I wonder if she'd be a grandmother by now, maybe, or off doing something daring and awesome. I've thought about her now and again over these years and have consistently marveled at how she faced life with such aplomb, when we were all just kids trying to figure it all out. She may not have had a lot of time on this earth, but she obviously left it a better place for her being here. I imagine all her other classmates feel the same. We were lucky to know her.

Here i am thinking i would never be able to drive at 20, because i was born with one arm.. when this incredible woman, taught herself.. I really admire her and wish i was half the woman she is.

Stacey was born without arms; they thought it was due to a virus. We lived in the same town and she spoke to our class. She was amazing!! It was a blessing to hear her in person. She didn't tell the story here about her roller skates. Some little girl told her she could never roller skate. She put them on and did very well but then fell forward landing on her chin (getting stitches of course). That didn't stop her from getting back on her roller skates. Before she died she donated a lot of stuff to the group home I lived in including her roller skates. I remember seeing the smile when she was walking in the office behind the person carrying all her stuff in. She was truly amazing and I am deeply offended that people would mark a thumbs down on this video! Completely ignorant!!!!!!!

So sad reading in the older comments that she has been gone for a while. She might have enjoyed seeing quite a few successful women like herself from Jessica Cox, Barbie Thomas, and Tisha Unarmed. Then really connecting to children like herself so she can pass on a privilege she never had...knowing she's not completely alone.

Her death resulted from head injuries she sustained while working with the horses she loved. Stacey was alone at the time of the accident so just what happened is unclear. A two year old horse was being held by a lead rope tied around her waist. Something apparently frightened the horse who bolted, dragging Stacey for a distance causing fatal head injuries.

...and any corporation would be idiots not to hire you on your attitude alone. Fantastic!

Her attitude is pretty much, fuck yeah. Side note, do they have keyboards for computers with slightly larger keys? I feel like it would really practical to use with toes.
