And americans still believe that every country's mindset is like theirs, so whenever they watch news about gay people in russia, they get triggered. Putin doesnt hate gay people, but he also doesnt necessarily like them. It is the people of russia that are very conservative and believe that everyone should be straight. It is the people of russia who beat up gays, not putin's administration. I also used to hate gay people until I lived abroad and made some cool gay friends. Obviously, you cant take every russian out of the country to have them exposed to western cultures, so just bare wiith it, world. If you are gay and happen to be in russia, just leave the country if you want a peaceful life, it isnt difficult to move abroad.
