@@kristianschuff1723 No, but there is an attack, that is called "Wing Attack", that *is* a flying move, and it's literally just the user attacking with their wings.
Considering Falco's wings are not metal, not psychic, and that there is no fighting-type variant, then Falco's *Wing Attacks* should be Flying.

Pokemon Guy here: Steel/Fairy is considered one of, if not THE, best typings in the game. It's an absolutely phenomenal typing.

@@KyRex1783 It's the best Defensive type (Steel) paired with one of the overall strongest types (Fairy). It has 2 weakness paired with an incredible amount of resistances and immunities, which, alongside immunity to sandstorm and poison, make Pokémon of the type incredibly hard to faint, and considering all of that, you add in the fact that it's not as bad offensive coverage as you'd think and you've got a recipe for a top tier typing
Steel/Dragon and ghost/normal are insane defensively.
Darkest Lariat is a Dark type move, but it was shown as Fighting here (SE against Greninja), but outside of that and maybe making Rest a Psychic move, this is really cool and makes a decent amount of sense. If possible, I’d make only the last hit of a multihit have type effectiveness so that something like Greninja Up Air does deal like 30%.
The Lucario vs Lucas match made no sense, aura sphere is fighting, but it was super effective against Lucas and Lucas moves are psychic but they were super effective against a fighting steel type
Also, why does Villager UP air is super effective on Meta Knight ?

I feel like they went with fighting type for a lot of moves and characters that could be other types simply because it’s a fighting game.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to have most of the moves be normal type instead of fighting type?
Yeah the modder kind of missed the point of fighting types. The moves are all based off legitimate martial arts but they just gave the type to anything that hits hard.

Hitting hard are literally Normal type moves. They are punches thrown without any skill.

Actually, now that I think of it the typing of the move is probably directly tied to the ACTUAL attack effect (as in the attributes used in base Smash Bros.) rather then individually chosen for each move.
I feel like the mod needs some serious adjustments.
With their normal typing, just because they have *blank* based attacks, doesn't have to mean they ARE that type (ex. Ken should JUST be fighting, he just has a fire type move)
And with moves, just because the attack doesn't have obvious elements showing, doesn't mean its by default a normal or fighting type attack (most of falco's should be flying, as he attacks with his wings, WING ATTACK an actual pokemon move)
Also think some moves need fixing, mainly looking at the pokemon themselves in the game. Why did darkest lariat do super effective damage (a dark type move) on greninja (on a dark type mon)? And yes normal/fighting doesn't do anything to ghost, but why it doing super effective damage? (Looking at the sheik pacman fight) ghost isn't very effective against dark, and is neutral against fighting
I would have made G&W a Ghost-type. Dark is meant to be more "evil" or "underhanded" type. If anyone's a Ghost-type it should definitely be the one whose dimensions are weird.
Actually, since Ghost tend to the supernatural (if Shuppet/Bannett mean anything), a creature that literally works off of a world that isn’t three dimensions of space and one dimension of time would be great for a Ghost type. Also, Game and Watch do whatever. That could be flavored as a poltergeist or possession.

Wouldn't it be cool if each of the judge numbers had different types? 6 has a fire effect, 5 and 9 are electric based, and 8 is an ice effect.

I'm pretty mad at Vern for thinking Roy's sword moves _shouldn't_ be fire. That's like his whole thing. They all set you on fire when they sweetspot, his up smash and neutral b make explosions, what part of that is not fire?

Logically speaking, neither Pit nor Dark Pit should be flying type since they can’t actually fly.
Fighting/Steel would make a lot more sense for them, tbh.
And Palutena should be Psychic/Flying.
Pit should be fairly/fighting but with ability: Palutena's Blessing: Gains effect of telekinesis when it enters battle.
Love the mod, although definitely think the moves’ interaction with dual typings should be added in.
They are dual typing are just the first type effectiveness * the second one fighting vs dark steel is 2*2=4 so 4x effectiveness
@@VexlevI know that. The problem is when the primary type is hit Super Effectively by a certain move and the secondary type is resistant to said move, but these interactions don’t cancel out. Like when Lucas hits Lucario, a Fighting/ Steel type, with Psychic moves, it’s still registered as Super Effective, not neutral.
Byleth feels like dragon would have been a more fitting type since the weapons are made of specifically dragon bones, and they are a vessel for a dragon god. I see where rock came from given that's the type of fossil Pokémon though but it doesn't feel quite right

Look me in the eyes and explain with a straight face why Lucas isn't broken in this mode. Ice, fire, and electric on moves that Lucas already spams would be insane.
Literally any character with at least 3 move types would be insane robin would have steel electric fire wind and dark that’s 5 typings right there while also being a character who can throw our projectiles like nothing until they run out then stall you out till they can again
Ice and Fighting already hit half of all types for super effective damage just by themselves. And if that stick also does grass damage then that’s pretty funny. And that’s on top of Fire and Thunder finally being lore accurate in doing actual damage.

Kirby is like a Ditto or a Smeargle and should be Normal type. Furthermore, Kirby is a god of almost everything. Arceus is a god that is normal type by that logic and therefore so should Kirby.

Fighting is super effective against Normal because a professional fighter can very easily mop the floor with just your average Joe, while it's strong against Dark because it references the hero facing and triumphing over the villain
valid question, how did this not end with a tag team match 5v5? that's adjacent to how pokemon is actually played. i get it's not "smash competitive" but neither is the mod
This is a great mod but some types makes no sense the biggest one for me is Pit being part steel and not fairy and Link can also have the fairy typing instead of fighting but both make sense either way this is a great mod

Ridley, Corrin, and Kazuya use moves with their wings and they’re not flying type so calm your ass down man. And Falco is a bird that can’t fly on his own like emus, ostriches, penguins, etc. Not every bird Pokémon *has* to be a flying type. Take Empoleon for instance and yet they still have moves with their wings.

Fairy for Sora's magic and Steel for his Keyblade? Acceptable, the Fairy typing makes sense, but the Keyblade isn't steel it's... well, that's unclear. They're weapons that aren't forged in a physical sense but rather manifest from a worthy individual's Heart when they eventually grow strong enough to use it. So Keyblades may or may not be comprised of metallic components or have metallic properties but they're definitely conceptual constructs so pure Fairy type, Fairy/Normal, Fairy/Flying, or something generic like Fairy/Fighting probably would've been more appropriate.

It’s a good concept, and ever Smash/Pokémon fan has thought about this, but there’s a really fatal flaw with this thought exercise: It’s way too easy to make a significant number of characters either Steel or Fighting. There’s not nearly enough variety.
There should be more normal types, imo.

There could be a case for being Psychic/Dark since most Sephiroth’s are just Jenova’s cells imitating Sephiroth and aliens tend to be psychic type in Pokémon

Terry probably shouldn't be fire. Not only do none of the moves have a fire property in smash, but they've always been pretty loosely defined as just kind of chi blasts. If anything, it's technically derived from the earth so it should be ground type.
Just because a type is super effective against another doesn’t mean that it resists that type too

It's probably really annoying try to determine what moves are normal, fighting, or dark. Just making everything fighting was the wrong decision in my opinion. Unless the animal characters tend to have normal type tilts and stuff
