- Malaga to London with EasyJet & Gatwick Express (Travel Home Day) (02/03/24). As our trip to Spain comes to an end, it's time to head back home with an EasyJet flight from Malaga to London and a ride on the Gatwick Express!

Brilliant video G, it's good that you enjoyed yourself in Spain, the Spanish vlogs have been brilliant. Good old Gatwick Airport, I haven't been there in ages. Funny thing now you've been singing that National express jingle everytime you see the word express is that Gatwick Express was owned by National Express at one point lol. A ride on the Brighton main line is always good but I do miss the days when it was operated by the old slamdoor trains and the Class 319's (filthy buggers) lol.

Ahh a 387, my first UK train ride was on one, but the Heathrow Express flavor, which are extremely nice if a bit pricey. Though they do drop you right in the main hall of Paddington.

Off to Fuengerola in 2 weeks. I know that line well as we like to travel to Malaga a few times. Excellent service and cheap.
Enjoyed this series G which I watched from my house in Spain. I watch you along with a few other channels to get my railway fix, as it is one of the things I really miss. Of interest in our area of Spain currently is the new high speed line under construction between Almería and Murcia due to open in 2026. Come & pay us another visit when it opens. Keep up the good work with your interesting videos 😊

Fun fact, I live near Gatwick and my wife, when she was a kid had a birthday party at Gatwick just going backwards and forwards on the terminal shuttle and then going to McDonald’s! 😆

ive really enjoyed watching this & all the Spanish vlogs & i like the class 387s especally the Gatwick Express ones even tho i use the GWR 387s from my local but i remember when GWR hired some Gatwick Express trains for a short time in 2021 & i rode some of them on my local line & i like the red interior over the GWR one brilliant vlog

Thanks for the video G,how cheap was that I'll have too get a passport go too Spain for the day ,probably alot longer with our weather. A Bath return from Seaford, East Sussex Sussex would be more than 2 singles too Spain and back.Great too have seen this trip totally enjoyed it all!!😎✈️✈️✈️✈️🇬🇧

I'm surprised to think that Gatwick express is cheaper than the Heathrow Express. I was on the Heathrow Express twice and they are pretty dear which is £25 for a single. I'm visiting London this summer and goanna be taking the Gatwick express. Hoped you enjoyed Spain.

Been on a Gatwick Express Class 387 train when it was on loan to Great Northern! Cheaper as well per to that route.
Lol now I know how to get to the trains from Gatwick without figuring it out for myself. Thanks mate for inadvertently helping a soon to be traveller to the UK.

In the long run, better to fly direct to Madchester. You were on the wrong side of London, and more time consuming, and uncomfortable when you are dragging suitcases with you. But at the end you said were stopping off to see friends so alls well that ends well !

I had no idea Gatwick Express had announcements in other languages. I like how a lot of foreign transport systems also announce in English as well as the local language but we rarely do that in the UK.
Do any other trains in the UK have foreign announcements?
Ye same for signage as well, and I know a nice guard for WMR who does it but apart from that no clue 😂
You should've seen the Gatwick Express in the old days, old Mk 2 coaches pulled by a Class 73 at one end and a 489 luggage van at the other.

I’ve been on Gatwick Express and their services are very good but the seats on the Class 387/2s aren’t as comfortable. And are hard to sit on considering they only operate a short direct service from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport.

Yay the Gatwick express I know that one 😄 and I recognised a class 700 thameslink there at Gatwick Airport station as well. So your plane wasn't delayed to give you the British railway experience 😅 hope whatever the medical emergency was hope it was nothing serious and hope you had a lovely time 😊

pro tip when travelling between London Victoria do use southern its just as quick, saves tones of money and the 377s are better trains than the 387s

I think you will miss that sun, i'm surprised you didn't go the whole hog and get a train to paris then Eurostar back but it would of worked out more expensive with the eurostar ticket a probably another hotel in Paris. When I was younger I had painful ear popping and someone said suck a sweet at take off and land so i have ever since on every flight and no more painful pops lol

Do yourself a favour, stay longer! the weather back home is awful, enjoy the warmth of Spain for a few more days!! You look as if you caught the sun, good for you! I refuse to use the Gatwick Express, in May 2022 I flew with Easyjet to Aberdeen and used my Oystercard to travel to Gatwick (£12.80 today's price) on a Southern train, just one stop en route.

Gatwick express train interior is the same as great northern but with red on the seats
Now waiting for a spinoff "GLovesPlanes"
I used the c1 line a few times and for most of the time we were packed in like sardines and i used my contactless card instead of buying a ticket on the train.

EU261 claim for delay on plane?
Given it's EasyJet I imagine they're more likely to charge extra for the additional time sat in the airport and on the plane!
We got offered a complimentary drink 👍
I think EU261 triggers at 3 hours late arriving and EZ would go with exceptional circumstances, always worth a check though.
