I appreciate the vid. I just got a fae head from auction and unfortunately it needs some work. I’ve determined it’s the rotor bearings

You remember what size bolt you bought to get that bearing housing out? About to tackle this project myself. Thanks!

I want to say it’s a 5/8 bolt with 1.25 pitch but not 100% sure. I will try to figure that out.

They don’t exist according to FAE. If you contact them, they will send you instructions for certain repairs but that’s about it other than a part manual and owners manual.

How much did the bearing cost? And where did you get it from? I have a couple fae heads that I got from auction but can't find a dealer near me to work with

For my head, I used SKF 22311 E/C3 for $180 off of Amazon. Recently I’ve started using a local bearing shop out of Tulsa that sells their own American made bearing for $75/each. If you buy one from FAE, they are way steeper than these prices.

Was it squealing ? Is that why you replaced ? My head has 100hrs and it’s squealing

Hey, great video I am currently doing mine on the exact side right now. As far as the bearing off of Amazon are they the same # on each side? Curious if I should order two to have one as a spare. I ordered one from my dealer but it’s been a week and a half without any eta and about $440 so I am going to order the one you posted now off Amazon. This video was a life saver. Thanks man

Sorry you didn’t find it helpful! Please let us know what you’d like to see more of specifically as we will be doing a more in depth version sooner. This was just meant as a basic overview that essentially repeats the service manual.

Brother, you showed less than half the process. I'd say abt 45 percent. What you did show was excellent.
