My grandparents on my moms side of the family had a Golden Retriever named Lacy. She was the sweetest dog I've ever met and whenever me and my family went to visit my grandparents, sometimes Lacy would basically trap me in a corner of the kitchen and stand in front of me like she was protecting me from other people. She wanted me all to herself and she'd even let me use her as a pillow on occasions. She was such a good girl and I miss her very much. She died due to old age.

I had a golden retriever. She made every day joyful. I loved her so much I still cry when I think of her. She was an angel.

Yep. Agree with you. I still miss my first GR Sepp and had 2 Golden mix dogs after that. Also adorable and like GR in temperament. They became 15 and 16 years old. Never better dogs. I'm too old for a Golden pup now, but they are still the dogs I love best❤
Well, Sterling has certainly stolen MY heart. But he can keep it with him for as long as he wants. I know my heart is in a really really good place 🐶♥️🧔

Our Ortley, cream golden, is very much like Sterling! In fact, our son, just moved home, unexpectedly temporarily, so I began calling Ortley, Sterling Underpants!!! 🩲🧢🧦👟 He is VERY proud of his ‘find’ from Ian’s temporary bedroom (our living room)-lol. Just began making Ortley wear his FIND! Too Funny 😁!!!
We love Sterling and your wonderful family. You have set a good example of how to All participate in taking care of your pet! Golden retrievers are sociable dogs. They love parties and greeting visitors with a hug or a lick on the hands.. my son's friends kissed and hugged our GR everytime they come to our house. I was laughing because our GR havent taken a bath yet

Very proud golden furmom here. I have lost count as to how many times my baby boy has made us laugh with his antics. And yes, he likes to steal bras too.

My golden LITERALLY barks at the mailman (well, ours is a woman, so mail carrier), even if she's in the backyard, she barks when she comes up the driveway. It's so stereotypical and I love it :P:P:P

My golden also does quite a few of these things. She's scared of a mop, will beg for food, grazes on grass a lot, not very smart, and love to see new people.

Agreed 100%. I love most dogs, but Goldens have that certain "undefinable" thing that makes them special. "Labs" can have it, too, but I think Goldens more often embody it. I don't think I've ever encountered a Golden on the street that didn't immediately want to become my new best friend! They do that "lean" into your leg that just makes you melt.
