I love the detail you put in the information you share. I love blazers and always buy them second-hand. My mother was an amazing sewer and she taught me what to look for in clothing - quality fabric and construction. You've provided many styling ideas I haven't tried as yet, so thank you. Also, you might enjoy alpaca wool. It's extremely soft.
I’m glad you mentioned breathable linings. Because a lot of cheaper stores now sell jackets with polyurethane linings that are so uncomfortable, especially if you are in an out of public transportation or shopping. It’s bad enough many stores keep the temperature around 80 Fahrenheit and if you’re Christmas shopping you are wearing a coat and sweater and you really don’t need to be marinating in a hot space anyway. But if there’s a polyurethane lining on your jacket it’s over. Go home and shop online

Such a thorough video on blazers. I love the looks you put together, especially the all navy and the one with the striped t-shirt. Curious how tall you are. I'm petite and curvy so the oversized blazer makes me feel like I'm wearing my husband's jacket. I have 2, I'll try to style them up as shown here. One thing I cannot do is a cashmere sweater under a wool blazer....I might burst into flames lol. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Hello Kimberly, sorry for my late reply 🫣 first things first: I am 170cm tall. I understand blazers can be a little bit tricky when you’re shorter, because the main problem is the length. First of all try, with your existing blazers, wearing a heeled boot or something on a platform, and a straight or slimmer trousers. You could try pairing them with a dress/skirt (if you like them) and belt the blazer. That would give you some definition and make your body look longer and more slender. Also, don’t forget some longer necklace that create a V shape, which will help with the above. I’m not sure if it helps at all as I don’t know your body shape😊

It is very challenging to find blazers, or most other items of clothing, that don't have polyester content in their lining, within a reasonable price point.
Tell me about it. Most brands that I checked, even if their blazers were 100% wool the lining was polyester mix. Whyyyyyy🤷🏻♀️but do check vintage shops if you can, Ive just been to few last week and saw really beautiful vintage blazers for £30-40.

The most important is that you feel great in your blazers and if you feel great you look great😊. I prefer oversize because I never liked looking too feminine, but I wouldn’t say NO to a beautiful Balmain blazer 😜 best wishes🥰

I’m glad you enjoyed it😊 when you say a “long blazer” do you mean actually longer length or a standard one but on you it looks long🤔 if the second, I would say absolutely go for it. It all depends on your style and how you feel about what you’re wearing. I see many petite women wearing oversize and they look great! If you’re confident and comfortable with your clothes it shows. I would still remember to show some skin - roll up your sleeves and maybe wear something more fitted underneath, slimmer shoes (if you can heels). You can follow Olsen twins on Pinterest, they do oversize really well😊

I just bought a beautiful coat from H&M; 50% wool, 30% viscose and 20% polyamide and I’ve struggled to decide whether to just try to forget about that polyamide because it’s so beautiful but it still really bugs me!! I’m so fussy about fabric composition but no one else seems to be bothered at all! 🤷🏻

My point is: will I be happy buying this coat from Mango despite de composition being that good? Or what I am craving is branding? Because The terrible The Frankie Shop sells loads of polyester for €300 and people keeps buying it! When I think about it I realize that Mango is such an exceptional coat brand when you go for the more premium range. So yeah, i think I just should keep my eyes peeled for quality not branding.

Thank you for your comments and I’m so happy to have such well informed lovely ladies here🥰 My preference is always a 100% wool or a cashmere/alpaca mix because these are the warmest options. Alpaca and cashmere also give a coat this beautiful shine which looks more luxurious and doesnt let the white fluff to stick (we know how annoying this is, especially with black coats). But finding this kind of composition is impossible on the high street. The next best thing is looking for anything with 70%+ content of wool. That means you wont be cold in Winter and you get a decent quality garment. Of course the lining here is very important too, viscose or acetate is great👍 I hope that helps at all🫶
I agree. Why do they put so much polyester in garments and especially linings of natural fabric coats and blazers????? I recently bought a beautiful 100% camel hair knee length coat with a 100% acetate lining on eBay. I can't wait for the weather to cool off enough for me to wear it.
