so what i liked: your gray to pair with silver jewelry, the thin puffer with trench coat trick, your cotton tote advice, and maybe another one i can't recall right now.
Dear Slow down in style. Your videos are getting more professional each time . Loved this one . Love your new old bag ❤. Think I liked outfit number 10 … pale blue shirt and trench
Hello Anthea. I’m delighted to read your comment. It means so much to me😊🫶 I also enjoy the blue with beige combination. It boosts my energy level😊 xxx
I just bought a beautiful Margaret Howell trench coat second hand from Vinted and let me tell you; when I opened the box, I audibly GASPED!! I’ve never seen such a thing of beauty and I’ve worn it every day since! I am so in love, I’ve found my ‘forever’ trench!! Thank you for another great video! xx
Hello Lucy, thank you for your comment. Such a visual description, I almost feel like I was there with you😊 and your trench coat sounds like a dream. I’m so happy you have found the one and only💖 it really does make a huge difference when you love your clothes and every time you take such piece out you smile😁 happy wearing!!
What a marvelous styling video! I especially liked seeing parts of London. All the combinations were lovely. I love the camel tones. In fact, I just purchased a pair of light wool camel trousers that look fabulous with sneakers, flats, and booties. Your classic and comfortable looks are just up my alley.
Hello Diane. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. It means a lot seeing that my work bring some joy to others😊 that pair of wool trousers sounds like a really good buy, and there are so many outfits you can create with them🥰
Hello Ruth. Great to hear you also style your white jeans in Autumn😊 I agree, I feel more comfortable in my light colours atm, there will be time for blacks👍
I have probably watched this video multiple times and will continue to rewatch it whenever i need inspirations. Well thought, wearable and chic outfits and well made video too. Keep posting more videos like this.
aaaaaw that’s too sweet. Thank you🥰 I know its not easy to find a good trench coat, new or second hand. I would say dont compromise, because youre not gonna be happy in a long run. Only buy the one you fell in love with.
@@SlowDownInStyle You're so right about not compromising. I have done it in the past and regretted it, it's a waste of time, effort and money if it isn't right. I have recently returned 2 trench coats despite being desperate to own one. I have finally admitted to myself that at under 5ft I look silly in them, definitely not cool or trendy. More inch high private eye 🔎 🔎 😆
Can someone please explain the half tuck shirt? I truly want to understand. I just don’t get it. It reminds me of my 12 year olds school uniform when he gets home from school at the end of the day.
Hello April. Thank you for your comment. Thats an interesting question. Ive never really thought about why its so appealing to me. I dont know about others but I’ve always felt uncomfortable when dressed too formally or too feminine and this slightly undone, imperfect style feels more natural. I guess I like this in between - not too casual and not too dressy. Also its a way to adapt my office/formal shirt to my casual lifestyle. I hope that makes sense😁
It's a way to correct the perceived proportions as well, because when sweaters or shirts are too long it elongates the torso. With the half tuck you can visually get the rule of thirds, one third torso, two thirds of leg and that makes one look taller. It's also a great way to show off belts 😊
Clothing is mass manufactured for most of us. It largely doesn’t flatter us individually. The “tuck” is a way to force an item of clothing to show that we do have a midsection. It also is a way to force an item to cover what we still want covered. It’s a way to force fit clothing: since most of us do not have clothing made for our exact proportions and body types and height and weight and draping and fabric needs, so we force a “tuck” so as to not look like a square bag. It’s survival dressing.
You got It! By that I mean it's that slightly dischevelled - part tidy look. Or rather you get to reduce bulk and lengthen your body by showing off your waist but stop it appearing too formal by leaving one side out. If i tuck a shirt in at the front then i leave the sides and back out.
I like your trench coat very much but the croc bag has been my favourite for the past few videos . And you certainly know how to wear and choose clothes. 🙂
Hello Gordana. This is such a sweet comment. Thank you so so much😊 this bag is my number 1 (and has been for a while now). It elevates every outfit but it’s not too loud at the same time xxx
💟 Delighted & inspired to see the camel tone look because I'm trying to put together some outfits with camel tones. I have several blazers, trench coat, sweaters & pants to work with, so look forward to wearing them this season! Casual & effortless dressing but smart & polished ....love it! Thank you kindly... 💟💜💟
Hello Linda and thank you ever so much for your lovely comment🥰 that’s what I was thinking when I put this video together, that you could use it as an inspiration for any beige/camel coat or a blazer. I hope it will help you a little with putting your outfits together🫶
You definitely know how to wear and style (neutral) outfits with a little twist which makes it personal! 👌Although I have neutrals in my closet and love my monochrome/ton sur ton looks as a soft color type, I just recently started thinking about dressing more in beige/taupe this way etc. I was already impressed by your good style, but after this video I am feeling: 😍💖
Hello Monika. Thank you ever so much for your lovely comment. It gives me a boost and confidence to create more. About the beige, I was also very unsure about this colour as it looks kinda sickly on me, but I absolutely loved it on others, so I had to make it work. Sometimes adding a fresh and flattering colour, like white or black close to your face just does the trick. Also jewellery (whichever looks best on you) helps. Thank you again xxx 😘
I can't choose a favourite. You made them all look fab. Unfortunately I just look a mess in a trench coat so I'm never going to be able to look like this 😪
Thank you soo so much Gail for your sweet comment. I’m afraid I don’t believe that you look bad in a trench coat🤔 I’m convinced everyone looks amazing in a trench coat, maybe you just haven’t found your shade and fit. Do try again, maybe instead of beige go for navy, green or grey xxx🫶
@@SlowDownInStyle Thank you for your response and kind words, it's much appreciated. I think it's my lack of height that's that problem - not quite 5ft and curvy uk 12😕 . I ordered 2 coats. both supposedly petite fit but they swamped me. Belts too low, sleeves too long etc. Unfortunately the pandemic caused the closure of many local stores and online shopping can be very hit and miss. I will continue the search though so wish me luck 🤞
Ohhhh I see. That is a problem. Some British high street brands have petite sizing, like M&S but I’m not very familiar since I’m just an average height. You need to search for Asian and French shops (especially Asian), they usually have smaller and shorter garments. I can only think of Sezane, but I’m sure if you Google you’ll find something. Avoid Scandinavian brands like Cos or Arket, they usually favour taller ladies. You could theoretically try kids/teens section but don’t think they would have a maxi trench in their range🤔 Good luck. I’ll let you know when I bump into something interesting.
Hello Laura. Thats a shame, especially since its such a beautiful colour. But remember, you can always wear it away from your face in a form of trousers, skirts, bags etc. Grey mixes very well with most colours🥰
Hello Karen, thank you for your comment. I can see why you feel this way. Oversized shirts are not easy to pull off in every outfit. I wear them half tucked casually, because its more comfortable and I don't feel too dressed up. But I would never wear my shirt this way in a formal/office environment. I don't follow trends and my No1 priority is comfort. But I also love tailoring so this is the best way to incorporate them in my every day looks. Have a nice day😊

The all black and pop of beige was my fav🎉
and this is also one of my favourite looks too. I love such contrasts😊 thank you!

As always a great video ! You never disappoint! Could you do how to use dresses and skirts for transitional dressing ?
Hello Steve. I’m so happy you enjoyed it. I will think about your suggestion. If I can’t find the time, maybe I could do a short😊
Love your channel ❤❤❤
Oh no!! How did I miss this comment!! Thank you so much for your kind words🫶
You're my favorite!
I'm having a hard time finding a trench coat. Yours is perfect! I don't live in an area that has good second hand options.

I purchased a wonderful trench from Threadup! Just a thought since thrifting is difficult in your area for you.

I too love beige, but it’s not a great color on my pale skin. I add white or darker items for contrast n it works!
You’re absolutely right. Adding clean neutral colour like white or black changes the whole outfit and adds lovely contrast🥰
Thank you! Like all the outfit!🥰

I think the half tuck is a fad or trend . I don’t like it at all, it makes you look sloppy , not elegant.
