eggs are really good, I have 3 birds and they produce enough to run the biofuel refiner on there own, and if I want to get rid of an animal I just leave them on one of the big islands.
Yes, two honey (to fully cycle out the refiner) & 7 eggs (or 4 Buckets of Milk) equal 2 units of Bio-Fuel. Once one has battery charger(s), water system, beehive(s) with enough flowers not being harvested & grass plots with animals (cluckers or goats); Bio-fuel production is then only limited by the acquisition of Sand and Wood (to smelt into Glass for the Honey). Not much diminishment of investment/return in the system. As one needs to actively milk the goats compared to just picking up the clucker's eggs, my view is that though they seem to take more is that Eggs are better for. As for the diminishment of investment/return with other biomass (raw food) for Bio-fuel production, let's look the costs for a full refiner: - 2 animal heads; cost = wear on weapons, possible harm to character & a lot of time spent doing - 3 Watermelons or 7 Bananas/Pineapple/Strawberries; cost = have to make landfall as seeds for next planting aren't at a one-to-one ratio with harvests (produced 30% of time) - 16 Beets/Potatoes; cost = a lot of space and watering - Varying number of fish &/or other protein sources; cost = time to acquire & cost/wear on equipment with possible risk to character

Also have retested my chart for bio-mass for refinement, only thing I would add is that it takes three Meat (Raw or Shark) to fulfill the raw food requirement for a full bin.

love the tips. you forgot to mention when you kill an animal, name it something useful first! you can keep the nametag and use it to label things, must smaller than the standard sign.
You can pass pipes through 2 horizontal triangles, but the triangles need to be placed mirrored at certain angles. And the pipe above these triangles should be placed at the end. As a result, the pipe connects to the bottom through the floor. I didn't quite figure out how it works myself, but I managed to do it on my raft. (Sorry for the bad English, I translated through a translator)
The tip with the respawning loot once helped me get 4 stacks of biofuel with no actual refiners. Its super usefull if you rotate between tangaroa and caravan
Here's a freebie for future videos. You can drop shark bait right off the side of your raft and farm Bruce almost infinitely. The bait takes some hit point damage each time he attacks it (very little if you spear him right away) but if you camp the bait you can kill a LOT of sharks. Good time waster if you're at an island and doing something like growing crops, trees, smelting, etc. Or if you need the shark meat/heads
Actually, to stop the seagulls from entering your room full of plants, just remove any plantations/grass anywhere within 8 blocks or closer that are outside. Even trees or grass will trigger their attack if anything they can target is outside but near. Double roof never worked for me, until I removed that pesky tree...
If I want to get rid of animals, I just take it to the foundation level and walk away. I live mostly on the second floor so while I keep myself busy doing maintenance, the animal would get lost at sea and I would be blissfully unaware. Makes you feel less guilty, like an out of sight, out of mind kind of thing lol
The seagulls will not go into a room... at least with the normal walls with windows... and the normal door. You can do any roof (flat or peaked) and it does not matter. Do not put the planters on the wall though as I have seen them clip through walls. You can put the sprinkler outside the "greenhouse" then. I do a 3x3 area with the grass on the bottom and then I overlap the small planters for flowers over on one side. You have to keep them on one side or the animals might get stuck on the planters (the AI pathing sucks). I put the sprinkler on the outside and bee hives. The new update is out and this is the final as the game is now 1.0. ***SPOILER WARNING*** There is a bug in it and it is annoying. On the last island you will run into hyenas and they will try to grab you and drag you. They can clip through things when they do this. This left me stuck on the wrong side of the wall. I exited and reloaded and it was the same. I tried an older save and they seem to be all overwritten as the 6 or so they keep covering almost half an hour were all the same. Now I need to find a mod or trainer that enable No Clipping. I was probably 90% finished with the last island... if not basically in the last challenge. Think a large room with cages that respawn 3-4 hyenas almost non stop while a guy is throwing exploding gas bombs that burn for a while and do not hurt the hyenas... and you need to stack boxes while doing this to reach up to a balcony the guy is sitting on. It sucks. When they grab you you drop the box and it reappears where you picked it up from. Plus there are a lot of parkour and puzzles in this update on this last island and they are NOT EASY! This is by far the hardest island. Also in case you do not figure it out. The recycler processes junk... rocks, plastic, rope, wood, scrap metal... into cubes slowly. You can use these to buy bait (4 per cube) from the shop and trade them for coin and reputation. After 30 fish you go up a tier and buy better bait. After 30 more fish you get to the highest tier. Then you can buy titanium for 3 for 3 cubes and some coin. This is BY FAR the easiest way to get titanium. It takes a bit grinding out the fishing and you have to hit a couple of venders as they only carry so much. They are on the green islands and they added the venders to existing islands. I think there is only one new green island. There is a lot of other cool things to buy... including some blueprints of things like better planter boxes, recipes, hats, and decorations as well as pretty much all resources (in their raw form). Total you will have plans for a lot of things, like better net that holds more, better biofuel generator that holds a lot more (and they fixed the piping to you can run a reservoir and engine off it), wind turbine (for charging up to 4 batteries with no fuel), electric grill that fits 6 meat, smoothie machine that lets you take thirst above max, better batteries that hold twice as much, better smelter that smelts 3 things at once, an advanced headlamp, and a better anchor that works off the engine controls.
I always considered a pot as useful as a seagull lure, as it was as a food source. Just listen close, and when you hear the little bastards, go shoot it.
I had a heart attack when I was normally playing raft and a huge whale jumps above my raft, it was really cool and my jaw dropped to the floor but also very scary haha
Okay, I didn't know they patched the dying animals. I must have missed that one. Here I am keeping them watered like a dope... Also, I just did some extra zipline sciencing (would love to see a zipline video, I just love these things). The max horizontal seems to be about 680 foundation units (far beyond island render range which I think is about 500), and the max vertical about 840 units (half walls). I'm gonna be honest I lost count a time or two, but it's close. It seems to be an absolute rope length since you can't connect if you go 680 AND 840 up: it cuts short long before connecting. Ziplines only require 1 unit (half wall) of drop to work. Distance does not change this. Next: zipline teleporting. Ziplines connect you to them in weird places and it is proportional to the length of the zipline. My 840 tall zipline teleports me instantly a little over 100 units into the air (pretty handy for a sky city, or maybe a UFO...). From that platform I made another one connected to the same 840 location and it teleports me about 94 units up. Ziplines sometimes let you clip through islands and things. I have ziplined all the way through the basements of Tangaroa. You can jump off at any time once you get where you want to be. I also LOVE my zipline outriggers. They are flying platforms about 220 units out from my raft. I can drop anchor when my zipline hits an island and zipline out to the island. Bruce leaves me alone because he is out of range. Keep an eye on your zipline durability. I totally have never been stuck swimming hundreds of units because my zipline broke: that definitely never happened... HAPPY ZIPLINING!!
0:24 this doesn’t work any more in chapter 3 trust me I tried or maybe it doesn’t work with other pipes I tried it with pipes maybe it needs machinery but I don’t know
The Floating rafts don't work properly. If you destroy your original foundation the game will bug out, as the world spawns around those 4 squares. Funnily enough you mention that fact in the video itself. It's also impossible to get back on the raft unless you used the "unstuck" option.

Even if i see your Video 10 Month after you published... It was always the most efficient way to get Biofuel by travelling between any bigger Island and Caravan Town. Due to the Item respawn there is a large chance to pick up Fuel. So you dont waste items and *NO honey* in the compost. Bye.
You can destroy your original raft and still get stuff. Had a friend join my game and build a completey new raft next to mine then we destroyed absolutely every part of old raft and connecting pathway. You can also fish when in middle of an island.

I labeled a whole storage room with animal name tags once.
Tip for the new recyclers, use wool as your primary trash supply. Its on the same tier as titanium with only needing 2 wool per cube
Same with the new Composter to make Fuel.
To get a full Tank you need only 6Honey and 20 Eggs. Thats it.

There was a time where I spent literal hours doing that lol
Shark bait and machete ready, and I kept on fishing throughout it.

Shark is always and only triggered by Floating Foundations.

Going to an island for trees is pointless. Your raft can gather a chest full in no time extremely early game.
