I stayed at Dockside back in May during my trip to Universal and I loved it! The buses were so frequent that I never waited more than couple of minutes to and from the parks.
Staying there from now on, way better than Disney. That same room at Art of Animation would cost you atleast $350-400. Thanks for the content Kyle
I am staying here in June! I am surprising my kids the morning we leave and telling them we are going on vacation to universal for 4 days!! So I’m combating my telling cravings by watching videos on universal and the resort! lol 😂 great video thanks for the content
Staying there in late September! BTW, rates for then start at $87 for a 2 queen bed room, and the suites are $132. So much less expensive than that other resort down the road
We stayed at Surf Side in August 2019 & it was fantastic, couldn’t fault it! It literally takes minutes to get to the Universal parks & the buses are very regular, we never had to wait! I think this hotel is such good value for money, especially coming from the UK 🇬🇧 when a holiday to Orlando is very expensive! Great vlog 👍🏻
Disney have burst their own bubble with stripping away all the resort guest perks. Definitely staying at Universal next time.
I stayed here a bit ago. Very affordable, the shuttles are easy to access and the early park access is amazing. Food choices at this hotel is good. You have the food court that has a large variety of food. The pool area is amazing, a bar, sand etc. great place to go.
Dude, I can't believe this is a value resort, hey Laura, AusAus!! Perfect timing, I've sent this out to my friends group as the place to stay for April especially with 2 bedroom. Waffles are good anytime of day 😂🤣
I was at Cabana Bay during my visit to UOR in late June. The "Game-O-Rama" arcade at Cabana Bay has more games AND prizes! Plus Cabana Bay also has a bowling alley, Starbucks, bars, and a nice lazy river. Definitely worth a staycation.
If you could Kyle, I would really appreciate it if you could stay/tour Hard Rock. It’s where I am hopefully staying next year! Loving your videos!
I stayed here last month and it was awesome. Food was reasonable priced and drinks at pool were good. Rooms were nice too great value hotel. Just wished they had a band playing over the weekend by the pools to add a little more spice. Other than that would definitely recommend. Thanks Kyle!

Try Cabana Bay! Loved staying there! Dive in theater, lazy river, Sandy pool decks. Outside bar and service. Retro theme. Perk Shampoo! Lol!

Thank you for expending your vlog content to Universal, this is a value resort??? Wow, can't imagine how the premier resort are looking. With all the prices increases and paid lightning lane ,i think its time to give it a try to Universal.
Mobile check in works only if you booked the hotel directly through Lowe's/universal website. When booking a vacation package via travel agent, you will have to wait in normal check in line. As well.. if you check in before rooms are ready, hotel will send a text message when the room is ready!

My friends and I will often stay in those suites for $89/night during off seasons!
The hotel room looks OK not bad for whatever the prices is it’s nice that they have a Starbucks right in the lobby that’s cool and you’re right around a lot of attractions pretty good thank you Kyle good job

I prefer Surfside myself, parking and overall layout is better. Pro tip if you are stay at Aventura, walk over to Sapphire Falls to take the boat taxi. Its fast and you get to bypass the big security check in at city walk.
We stayed in April we loved it!!! Definitely a steal for what you get they’re beautiful rooms!!!
Good overall quality for guest rooms. $150 is good rate for residents compared to staying off Universal or Off Disney property. More pricey for non residents. Love to see them cut rates. Great modern furnishes. Many families stay at that resort not just do Universal but commute to nearby Disney World. That microwave, coffee maker and minifridge are common now in all new hotel properties. The chairs looked tacky but for Florida after a long day at the pool or beach seem ok. They shouldn't charge for parking. That's crazy. Laura was hoping you would stay at that resort to do a vlog. She seems happy.
An excellent value. It’s equivalent to one bedroom timeshare with 2 queen beds in the living room instead of a sofa bed. There’s no full kitchen. The small refrigerator might be enough. You can’t buy frozen pizza and heat them in an oven. Very nice huge pool. I would stay there and drive to Disney World.
Universal have really stepped up their game in hotels and theme park. Those hooks are usually for kids backpacks.
Sometime, after the pandemic is over, I would love to see Kyle, maybe with Jojo, go to the international Disney Resorts. I especially would like to know his thoughts on Disneyland Paris. But also Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo.

By the way, we stayed at the Mariott Cypress Harbor (timeshares). It was awesome. We have always been a Disney property family and I think we have just been swayed! I cannot believe how big that universal hotel is!!!
Cypress Harbour is my favorite of the MVC resorts! Fab resort with tons of activities. New pickle ball court by my favorite building. We have a timeshare so that’s where we like to stay.
I’ll have to check that out. Disney is getting too expensive and then taking away the perks. We have to find somewhere else to stay.

I've stayed at Dockside twice this year and it's amazing. The food and drinks are great. It's a bit loud for an hour or so after the parks close but still a great resort
I stayed in Surfside in November 2020. I enjoyed it very much and found it VERY worthwhile, and a good value.
Very nice. I got to stay there when it was brand new! Rooms were only $85 per night back in 2019. Very comfortable and worth it!

Universal Hotels > Disney World Hotels
I kinda wish that Universal was closer to Disney World… that way we could stay at the (much better and cheaper) Universal Hotels while being in Disney World instead of paying the extra $100 a night to stay in a Disney Hotel! 🙃
My favorite cheaper one is Cabana Bay. I love the vibe there and the huge cafeteria area lol. Also a plus to walk to volcano bay

Kyle…just letting you know that any universal hotel guest from any resort can experience the Jack House at Cabana Bay during HHN, you have to show your room key. Plus their will be a special bar for HHN drinks.

Such a great review! Very well done! Besides the great bus service and the one-hour early entry to a park, I don't think these resorts offer much more than a comparably priced competitor of Universal. When we have stayed a Universal (usually for 7+ days), it's usually at Royal Pacific. And one of our fun activities on non-park days is to go pool (and pool bar) hopping between Universal hotels. All of the Universal resorts offer room-key reciprocity except Endless Summer resorts. Meaning, you can use your key for charging food & bev (and merch), as well as access the hotel's amenities such as the pools and fitness centers. Endless Summer's resorts don't participate. Their room keys only work on their own properties. And, I've been told that at Endless Summer, guests cannot have park merch delivered to their rooms for free; although, I heard this from an in-park employee and haven't verified it. The resorts might be very nice, but there are cheaper rates in the area with similar amenities.

You should stay at Loews Portofino Bay and take the water taxi to the parks... such a great experience!
For the Jack'd Up Experience, you can stay at any Universal Hotel to Experience. Parking is also validated. The Icons bar is open to anyone on/off property.

It looks like it sleeps more than it can accommodate like for meals. Price is probably good though. I'm not familiar with prices in the area. Nice though... Love the feel of the beach...

It looks like they saved money by: 1. no doors on cabinets, just open shelves 2. no doors on closets, just a curtain.
It's set up like a bohemian surfer motel in the Caribbean Islands. Same open concept.

loved staying there for labor day weekend with my family- only $106 a night!! crazy!! but also, passholder ;)
My only comment on these lower priced places is....twice I had a post checkout charge onto my credit card for a "unremovable stain" on the sheet. $75 both times. I now take cell phone pics of the sheets as I leave .
