I got shown by a tuner that if you let the car ride up on the dyno it gives false/higher figures my car made 400bhp he loosened the straps we did another run and it made 427 bhp. He even quoted saying watch evolves dyno videos they do this all the time and this vid kind of proves that.
The more important thing is that the car is strapped the same before and after. A dyno is really only good at comparing with itself, there’s far too many variables to compare different dynos, different environments, different operator etc. We always say the most important figure is the delta, how much change has there been. Look at the shape of the graph, how has that changed before/after. What you need to watch for is a car that is strapped tightly for the before runs, and loosely for the afters, as that is altering the results and giving unreliable data.
What Evolve says is right, and has been the prevailing logic amongst tuning and dynographs for decades. Don't look at the numbers per se, it's the delta between runs to measure change that's important. Nett gain is about 44bhp peak.
A few people mention this but honestly not something we ever really notice! So it’s quite subjective, really depends how sensitive your nose is. High flow cats are a great option for those that don’t want the smell however.
@@EvolveAutomotive There are a percentage of people who truly don’t mind it. I didn’t for awhile, but after a few years and an aggressive pro tune (I think it made the smell worse), I couldn’t stand it anymore. At least you get the benefit of the sound and response with the de cat
As an OG M2 Stage 2 owner considering fitting a Dorch Stage 1 HPFP, I was SERIOUSLY looking forward to watching this video. Imagine my disappointment when it became clear this was a vanilla Stage 2 upgrade.
This is an update to our existing Stage 2 package with further tune refinement to maximise the standard HPFP. The ability of the fuel pump varies between cars so we custom tune each one individually. If wanting more a HPFP upgrade like the Dorch is a good idea, we did a video on this very upgrade probably 3-4 years ago now. A little more power can be gained this way before the turbo runs out, but arguably isn't the best return for money spent over this package.
nice preparation🔥 I obtained 453HP and 678NM with stage 2 and HP pump. I am surprised by my stable pressure setting at full load of 170 bars. Normally we ask for 200 bars of fuel rail pressure? my mapper told me that this figure is not important and that it looks a lot at the air/fuel ratio rather than the high pressure pump setting, what is your opinion
Simple yet effective upgrade indeed! Imran I can tell by the way you love the F87 M2, the new one disgusts you😹 , anyway why haven't you ever featured 8 series models yet?
Do you guys replace or reuse the bolts for the aluminium stiffening plate? Just did my intercooler and charge pipe the other week. I’ve seen people say they absolutely must be replaced and others saying they have reused them.
@@G80pon have not had it on a Dyno. That said it should be making crank at least 450 hp and 490 lbs based on company claims. Feels like it's probably more still especially the torque. Will say I walked on a F80 M3 in a 40 roll.
@HodorTarg I'm the worst and am on a 3rd ticket for no inspection/emissions. I have to get it done now and 200 cell high flow catted downpipe should* pass. I was dumb and took it in flashed and it wouldn't even let them start the test.. really need to get that handled

So this is like 17-18psi? My car has the same mods, mapping and hp output. Stock chargepipe blew with just a stage 1 tune. I have another map for racegas but my stock HPFP isn't strong enough and starts dipping. What's the minimum HPFP psi recommended during a hard pull?

We’ve seen a few N55 M2’s dyno above 390 now, they must’ve been blessed at the factory 😅 Regardless, same as we always say, the actual figure is fairly meaningless, look at the delta, the gain made, that is the true story.
Because the car is climbing on the rollers therefore the numbers are inflated. You can see how much it falls back when he lets off. You should know better Evolve...
@@EvolveAutomotive So I had my OG M2 dyno'd recently at a pretty known for being humbling dyno and the car ran 397. Everyone I've spoke to said that car definitely has a stage 1 map. But you're saying that this car running 394 isn't running a map?
this M2 look way better than the new one
Agree 100%! 👍
Sounds better too
Lmfao newer cars sound and look
Ehhhhh

Im buying one
A 1982 Camry looks better so that isn’t saying much
The stage upgrades and also Exhaust upgrade videos are definitely what made me love this channel , here's another one let's see
That N55 sounds angry! Very nice engine. Good amount of power for the little mods installed.
og m2 is just brilliant
Looking at the new M2, I’ll keep my OG M2 forever. I love your content. Keep it up
Same thing for me
Me too!
New one is ass. Same I'm gonna keep her
Yep, I bought mine recently and love it so much I don't think I'll ever get rid of it either.
That music had some 80’s Bobby Brown vibes. I thought I was watching a montage of Aston in an Eddie Murphy movie.
It's Black Margarita by Arc De Soleil
N55 just sounds soooooo much nicer

Had my LCI nearly 5 years now. Such a great little package I’m at stage 2 aswell. So much fun on track. Your GTS one is amazing. 👍😊

I still like the frontend of the OG M2 more
0:47 it also adds a strong fuel smell from the exhaust that, in my opinion, is absolutely a deal breaker. High flow cat for the win

Need to get Joe Achilles m2 down here for this treatment...
Joe has an M2C with the S55 engine, so not quite the same upgrade path. More power available though!

I'm amazed and astonished that BMW put plastic crap into an M2 sports model !!!
Look how much it's climbing the rollers. Figures are not accurate
Car was strapped as similarly as possible for before/after runs which is the most important thing. We always say look at the delta not final figure.

Crank HP
