Great review brother! For the price it’s a steal.!
Thanks so much pal! That was kind of my thoughts as well... For anyone wanting to get into detecting that doesn't have much money or isn't sure they will like it I think it's a great buy... I will be putting it to the test on an old homestead detecting site shortly, I bet it will be a great relic detector!
Honest review of a product. Very informative. Another great video!
Thanks Paul!.....
Good review Country, thanks for sharing.
Cheers buddy!
Cool setup indeed fam. Great day out there. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Cheers GS!
My opinion on discrimination is that all machines should always be run in all metal mode👍
I agree, that is normally where I run mine... The only exception is when I take the kids over to the local fairgrounds looking for Canadian change after the fair, that's when i get rid of the aluminum and iron so they can focus on the clad coins
So I just recently purchased this metal detector. As somebody who is completely new this video is invaluable to me. Yesterday was the first day I went out and I can confidently say that I did absolutely everything that you’re not supposed to outside of not backfilling a hole that I dug. However this video specifically has shown me better ways to be more successful, as well as understanding the machine that I am using. I definitely liked the test between the various different objects that I believe I would come into contact with. So again thank you.
Hey Cory, that's great to hear... I am pretty blown away by what this detector can do for the price to be honest... While it's never a great idea to rely 100% on any detector's discrimination, this thing does a pretty good job all in all!
Great review very informative nice 👍 👏
Thanks my friend, appreciate it!
Awesome review. I dont know much about detectors i own a GM1000 but its just for tailings piles. so many people hunt & shoot everywhere so pointless to detect for me.
Thanks Creed! And yeah, I mainly use a detector to search for artifacts and interesting stuff... Lots of old 1800's homesteads around here for me to explore!
Nice review! I bought a Minelab Equinox on Amazon for $200, got it out and put it together and it did not work. Lol… sent it back and haven’t bought another one yet. I plan on it though. Its pieces were exactly like this one, exact same little shovel and came with a backpack too. Also ran on 9v batteries. Same connector too. Probably mass produced by the same company. Very similar units. Different brand name.
Bummer...You sure it was a Minelab equinox?... Usually those are very expensive!
@@AllThingsCountry74 had to go back and look. You are correct. It was a Minelab X-Terra Voyager and it’s only $149.95 now. Built exactly like the one you reviewed in this video though. All identical parts just different colors.
@@TroubledOnePaydirt I had to go look, you aren't kidding! Other than the smaller search coil it looks almost identical!
@@AllThingsCountry74 new vendetta bag just dropped… 🤫🥳
@@TroubledOnePaydirt Thanks for the heads up... may pull the trigger but I have a few Misskimoson's bags still to go through too!
How is the recovery speed compared to the Fisher?
I would definitely say it is on par.... From my perspective, the actual "electronics" themselves are fantastic... It just lacks the fit and finish of the $250-$350 beginner units
Great content brother!! Was waiting for the detectors! Witch one any brand would be best just for silver and gold? Under 3 or 4 hundred would be nice! Thanks brother!! Keep em coming! Appreciate ya!
Honestly, I don't know of any detector that does a decent job of finding gold nuggets under $600 and that is the Fisher Gold Bug... Unfortunately it does a junk job of finding anything else... lol
For silver and gold (gold jewelry only) , The Minelab Vanquish 440 is hard to beat!
Good review ATC good video. Definitely worth the money. Not everyone's in Australia in the outback looking for gold nuggets with their metal detectors. I've got one of those Garrett ace 400 models. It really doesn't like to pick up gold.
Garret ace is good little machine!.... I will have some detecting videos coming up shortly, my preference is to detect around old homesteads (there are quite a few around me) and find old artifacts like buttons and belt buckles and square nails etc...
Yeah ATC that's what I do same thing. Not a lot of potential for gold nuggets in southern Missouri but there is a lot of Old farms and it's fun.
Awesome video and a Great review my friend. Being a detector head myself I do have questions . First being is this a true VLF detector and what frequency in KHz does it operate ? Again amazing video as always. Thank you my friend for sharing
Wow my friend, your detector knowledge far surpasses mine! I'm all about "Can it find stuff and not find the stuff I don't want".... Lol... I'll dig through the manual and have a look!
@@AllThingsCountry74
Thanks. I agree this would be a great detector just to keep in the truck for what if moments. Quick tutorial on VLF detectors the higher the KHz the smaller flake of gold it will find. E.G. the gold bug 2 operates on 71 KHZ and the Whites Goldmaster GMT operates on 48KHz and the gold monster 1000 operates on 45KHz each of these will find a tiny flake of AU however they are also extremely expensive detectors. Between 800-1000.00 each. So too much just to leave in the toolbox of the truck. lol Thanks again and if you can obtain what frequency the one you reviewed is operating on please let me know.
@@Gentleman-Prospector I had a look and it wasn't listed.... I have some experience with the gold monster from Minelab and yeah, those things are costly!.... I do know that this one detected a 1 gram nugget that wasn't really buried and identified it as iron, so I highly doubt it would be useful as a gold detector and doubt even more that it would pick up tiny gold deposits!
@@AllThingsCountry74
it’s definitely a VLF if it picked up a nugget of any size so that’s awesome! Thanks for your help and looking into it. Also I’m looking forward to your eclipse show. Stay safe my friend and enjoy
If i was into metal detecting this would be an economical way to get into it. Wont find any nuggets in my area I am sure. I went to the Amazon link, out of stock, but they had two options. Full kit was under $130CA but just the detector alone was $62CA... Crazy deal. Great vid, thanks man. Keep it shiny side up brotha
Yeah, they are crazy good for the price, that's for sure! And yeah, detecting isn't everyone's cup of tea but I have a lot of old homesteads from the 1800's around me since i am from the Upper Canada area and I love finding old artifacts...
@@AllThingsCountry74 Yea that makes sense. Maybe one day I'll be into it
This has the same handle as the Tianxun TX-850L & the control box is similar to a Dr. Otek. Seems like a nice beginner unit.
I agree, that's exactly what it is for in my books and I think that this unit has been "re-skinned" to be the beginner unit for many manufacturers....
You should see if they will send you a T90 Gold Hunter/Frogman detector for a review. It looks like a Minelab clone and it's muli-frequency. All videos I've seen weren't in English. It looks like a good machine!
Cool detector, I need to break mine out soon, it's not as cool as this one though,, you have to calibrate and play with settings. Great Video!
Thanks pal! Was great to get outside and find some junk....
Wondering why gold shows low in the ferrous range, so ya gotta dig everything up 🤔. Great review ATC 👍 . ✌️🇺🇲
Honestly, it isn't a gold detector and doesn't even have a gold indicator on it so your guess is as good as mine! The only detectors i have seen that were good at picking up and identifying gold were made specifically for that purpose like the gold bug and they stank at doing anything else... Not sure why that is...
@@AllThingsCountry74 👍
Like the Fisher, but now the X-Terra Pro blows both of them away
For sure, but the X-terra is $400.... Nice little machines though!
With the exception of Bavaria, working with a metal detector requires approval in Germany.
Interesting topic nonetheless 👍🤠
Wow, we have lots of parks and stuff where it is prohibited because they don't want people digging up the lawn but I have never heard of it being prohibited across a country...
The problem with us is that there is still a lot of live ammunition from World War II in the ground.
And unique historical treasures were found (Disc of Nebra), Roman things that actually belong in the museum.
But they tried to sell them.@@AllThingsCountry74
neat machine to bad its heavy, i run an ultra at the moment, feather light
Nice!... That's why I like the Fisher... Only about 2 pounds!
