The Middle Quarters Shrimps Documentary project was chosen because I saw the need to highlight the Shrimp Village and community, in which I was born and raised and use to sell shrimp. Additionally, Middle Quarters is a poor community that struggles with a number of issues that stifle the village and community’s growth. However, I do believe that these issues can be eliminated, because Middle Quarters Shrimp Village is a viable tourism hub. In that, it has been attracting and continuing to attract tourists and local visitors.

@@jshaw4757 Hi J Shaw thank you for your question/concern. The villagers know what the problem is and I also believe that they have a solution to the problem. However, they lack the resources and support to mobilize the change they seek within the shrimp village, and this is where we invite investors to come on board to help make the village a viable tourism hub. The possibilities for growth and advancement within the village are endless.

Very interesting documentary, shrimps (swimps) oddly enough I didn't hear anyone talk about sustainability (set size limits) or setting up their own co-operative instead of waiting on the government. Also I suspect once the government comes in, they may help but they are/will going to dictate things.

Seeing people that I know in this video is crazy!! Amazing video. My mother was a shrimp vendor as well. Thanks for highlighting Middle Quarter's! This warms my heart.... seeing guys like Solomon and Billy that are my age mates and Vinceroy and Sentavine. Many other elders in the community who have been vendors since I was a child in Middle Quarters. I cannot say how much it warms my heart to see so many more people that I grew up with or knowing. Seeing Shrimpfest as well is ❤️ so 👏🏽 proud of this little community and the resilience of the people.

Respect to all!! Love is all I have for people who does not wait. Just a little additional help, and the people can turn this community in a greater one that it already is. Government maybe can teach them how to farm fish in a pond or something maybe. Or even can help to ship it out, because everyone want a peace of a shrimp, from shrimp country.
