بدأ حسن شرارة رحلته بعزف الموسيقى بعد شراءه لربابة من عربة في الشارع، كان والد حسن شرارة، الفنان العظيم عطيّة شرارة، من أكبر عازفي الكمان في مصر، وأثّر ذلك على تعلمه الموسيقي، فتعلّم العزف الموسيقي الكلاسيكي في وقت مبكّر، وأيقن الأبعاد الفريدة لمجال الموسيقى في الشرق الأوسط، واتبع نهج والده في الاحتفاظ في موروث الفنّ والموسيقى المصرية مع الاهتمام بثقافة الموسيقى الكلاسيكية.
بدأ حسن شرارة مسيرته التعليمية في الموسيقى في ١٩٥٩ وتتلمذ على يد عدد من أفضل خبراء الكمان في العالم مثل الأستاذ اليوغوسلافي تبشارش، والأستاذ الجورجي إيراكلي، والأستاذ المصري محمد حجاج، وعزف على مسرح دار الأوبرا الخديوية وهو ما زال طالب في كونسرفتوار القاهرة، وبعد تخرجه، اكمل دراسته في معهد تشايكوفسكي الحكومي للموسيقى في موسكو، روسيا، وحصل على شهادة الدكتوراة من المعهد بامتياز.
شغل بعدها عدة مناصب بالكونسرفتوار المصري من معيد إلى مدرس إلى أستاذ مساعد إلى أستاذ، ثم رأس قسم الوتريات، ثم تم تعيينه كعميد المعهد من ١٩٩١ إلى ١٩٩٧، ليكون أول معيدًا من خرّيجيه.
عمل حسن مع أكبر الأسماء العربية محمد عبد الوهاب، وأم كلثوم، ووردة الجزائرية، وفايزة أحمد، ومحمد عبده، وعبادي الجوهر، وطلال مداح، وعبد الله الرويشد، وهاني شاكر، ومدحت صالح، وكان جزءاً من فرقة والده عطيّة شرارة ”سداسي شرارة“.

The full episode of artist Hassan Sharara
Hassan Sharara began his journey playing music after buying a Rebab from a cart on the street in his childhood. His father, the great late musician Attia Sharara, was one of the greatest violinists in Egypt, and this influenced his music studies. He learned to play classical music at an early age, and understood the unique dimensions of the field of music in the Middle East. He then followed his father’s approach in preserving the heritage of Egyptian arts and music, while being mindful of classical music culture.
Hassan began his academic studies in 1959 and studied under a number of the best violinists in the world, such as the Yugoslavian professor Tabcharsh, the Georgian professor Irakli, and the Egyptian professor Mohamed Haggag. He played on the Khedivial Opera House stage while he was still a student at the Cairo Conservatoire.
After graduating, he continued his studies at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia, where he obtained a doctorate from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with distinction.
He held several positions at the Egyptian Conservatory after, from teacher assistant to teacher to professor. He then headed the chordophones department, then was appointed as dean of the institute from 1991 to 1997, becoming the first alumni to head the Conservatory.
Hassan worked with the biggest Arab names in music such as Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Umm Kulthum, Warda Al-Jazairia, Fayza Ahmed, Mohammad Abdu, Abadi Al-Johar, Talal Maddah, Abdallah Al Rowaished, Hany Shaker, Medhat Saleh, and Ali Al-Hajjar, and he was part of his father Attiya Sharara’s band ”Sudasi Sharara”
