Chris be having some heavy trouble back then. First, Injuring himself after getting off a train. Second, he survived from very bad arm injury when he's playing football. Otherwise, he couldn't have played bass forever. Thirds, he won the battle against his own demon... not easy but he made it. I will always be grateful for his Save Me/Liquid State. I just wish he could write/sing more. Underrated Muse member, underrated bassist in the industry.
Chris wrote a great heart wrenchingly true song and had a lot of courage to stand up and sing it. Matt encouraged him to sing it. Everybody seems to think Matt is holding Chris back. NOT TRUE! Chris does not like to be the lead singer, or be interviewed, sometimes not even there to receive awards. He is shy and private and likes to be with his large family. All these guys are super talented and fantastic at music, and they have stayed together since they formed Muse in 1994! 30 years ago!!! These guys are close, like brothers.
I was able to see Liquid State live in Rock in Rio 2013. To me this is one of the best songs of the record and It was defintely a high point in an amazing concert. I really love this song and I wish Chris would sing more. Maybe even a solo record or side project. The vibe of this song is heavy, raw and unique
Love this version more than the studio version which I also happen to like. Love Matt's guitar sounds and Chris is wicked. He sounds like Steven Wilson from the band Porcupine Tree.
Jabba Hutt Chris wrote it but he asked Matt to sing it, and at the last second Matt told him that he should be the one to sing it, because him and Dim taught it would be more logical this way. So yeah... it’s actually Matt that brought up the idea of Chris doing the lead singing in Liquid State and Save Me...
When Chris brought the song to Matt. He insisted on Chris singing it as well as Save me as they were personal songs to him about his battle with alcoholism in the past.
Not really, I have friends that have never been able to play and sing at the same time and in my case it was naturally since the beginning. I can play guitar and sing, I can play piano and sing, I can play bass and sing. Obviously there are songs that are a lot harder to play and sing, it always depend on the songs. Playing rhythm is a the easiest if you're going to sing. On the other hand there are songs that are way too difficult to play and sing because of the arrangements/arpeggios, a few of Muse examples are "Thoughts of a Dying Atheist" , Micro Cuts (Nearly impossible to sing only for most of we mortals hehe) and Space Dementia(Impossible to play and sing like Matt). In these examples yeah I think for most of us it would be a matter of a loooooot of practice but I think this was not the case for Matt. Regards
He's not off key that much. It's just stress coming through his voice. Besides, he's not a lead singer. He's a backup singer and not used to singing that much.
what you hear, has you've been told, is the bass, distorted up the ass, like he usually does. Matt's literally derping with the guitar, playing around. Is that or you're being sarcastic :)
No Chris wrote it about his own fight to defeat alcolism. He had been looking a lot better and smiling and laughing more, since then. He seems really happy!
Good performance but goddamn someone majorly fucked up the audio editing and mixing. This is supposed to be CHRIS'S song, which means extreme emphasis on bass. Why's the guitar so prominent?
XD Fuck me, even I realized that and I'm no professional when it comes to basses. Chris has a certain type of distortion he likes to put on his bass way up high that gives Muse that unique growling bassline in the back.Matt doesn't do that with his guitars.
I think Chris' voice is awesome for harmonizing (ie backing vocals) Matt's leads, it just suits him better. I guess it narrows down to the power of the vocals. Matt has a more potent voice, Chris struggles to get that potency, but his harmonies are spot on. They are both great musicians and bring ht best of themselves to complete the band. My 2 cents.
Este es un festival, no un concierto de Muse! Igual la gente en este tema si estaba un poco quita, pero el problema también era con las cámaras, pero bueno che.
I really like Chris' voice. I think he should do more songs.
ikr? he's good as backing vocal.. and not even close to"bad" as lead
This song is great, love Chris's singing
Is it wrong that my favourite muse song are the one that chris singa
@@Mr.Bruno. no
One of the most criminally Underrated Lead Vocalist, Bassist, Musician AND Tunage...EVER !!! #EpicHeadbanginWin #ForgottenJam
Was also a drummer at some point!
Nobody in Muse thinks that. Matt calls Chris ‘one take Chris ‘ because he can pick up music so fast!

Anyone notice Matt is playing an 8 string guitar!?

Best Bass Player Ever
Wow I didn't expect Chris's voice to be this good, just wow.
This band can do anything other band can't do! Very creative muse never die!
chris es un genio!
Love this version more than the studio version which I also happen to like. Love Matt's guitar sounds and Chris is wicked. He sounds like Steven Wilson from the band Porcupine Tree.
He sounds like Chris Wolstenholme from the band Muse, imo
the first time i heard save me i thought it was a pt song
It's not so easy playing this bass line and singing at the same time, i think even for Matt it's gonna be hard
Hahaha dude I can imagine Matt's face when Chris even brought up the idea about singing 😂😂😂😂
How is that funny?
Matt wanted Chris to sing it.
Jabba Hutt this is also Chris's song... he sings it on the album....

An Absolute banger.
It's a shame it dropped out of the setlist
probably exhausting for Chris to play and sing this lol, it's a lot to keep up with & multitask on
Yeah, also Chris is actually pretty shy and doesn’t like to be lead singer. Make no mistake, he is valued by Matt and Dom.
@@dillarddillard-p4e And by Musers! We love Chris ❤
@@ThinWhiteAxe ABSOLUTELY!
One of the best performances of this tune.
He's off key periodically but it's a technical piece to play let alone sing along to at the same time.
Jeff Douglas My guitar teacher says that being able to sing and play at the same time is just a matter of practice.
Hæmoride jørgen no one gives a toss about teachers
+Jeff Douglas not to mention that playing bass and singing is a lot harder

@Vashtanerada477: what you are hearing at first level is a distorted bass played by Chris. The guitar is almost hidden
I love this song😍😍😍
His voice needs some reverb
amo este temaaaaaaaaa!
Yes, Chris! 🎸🔥🥰
Go Wolstenholme!
Pd: i love Chris's voice... well, i love Chirs, but whatever.

@@jpegwithallthecrust2649 Better than a btard
I love matt as the lead singer, but Chris just dose it way better
Think about what the song is about and why it actually exists! Doesn't matter what his voice is like!
Duuude, why is the guitar so loud and the bass so low??? The bass is the whole point of the song!!
Actually, what you are hearing is the bass 🙃
what you hear, has you've been told, is the bass, distorted up the ass, like he usually does. Matt's literally derping with the guitar, playing around. Is that or you're being sarcastic :)
Shiro Brief Chris IS the second guitar player in the band. The things he does to that poor bass lol
If I didn't knew this song is Muse song I'd say this is Queens of the Stone Age
Yeah, kinda!

Creo que no debería cantar, es horrendo el a tocar el bajo, y algún coro, pero después de cantar Bellamy es terrible oirle
He has a decent voice. But Matt is better in every possible way.

Forgot to mention he is a great bassist too, maybe not super technical, but his bass lines are very catchy and the backbone of most of their songs (:
Whilst I agree with Matt being a better vocalist, Chris's songs were the most emotional of T2L hence his songs were my favourite
Who sings alongside chris in 3.04
must be morgan nichols
