You're very welcome! Temperature inside the ship including your cabin should be around mid 70's. The interesting thing is that with these older Carnival ships, and the one we took in particular (the Imagination) didn't have a thermostat, but thankfully we didn't need it. Outside it could be a bit chilly- down to the 50s but once you head south it should warm up to the mid 70s or even 80. Have a great time!
Very helpful. Thank you for posting! Question- is there a place to wait indoors without having to present boarding passes, in the event the weather is unpleasant? I will be dropping off family & luggage, then returning the rental car so there will be approximately 45 minutes where they may have to wait for me before we enter the terminal together.
For sure Queen Mary looks very classy, and we never knew it lit up like that at night. We visited and it was really cool, especially when walking on the wooden teak deck.
Wow. Carnival check in looks so much more organized than Norwegian? Which cruise line do you prefer in terms of overall satisfaction From beginning to end?
I agree- despite the Norwegian Joy being a much larger ship and holds more than twice the # of passengers. Also the World Cruise Center at San Pedro isn't as efficient IMO vs this Carnival Long Beach cruise terminal. Overall satisfaction- that's a tough one! They all have their own pros & cons that it comes down to personal preference. Cruising during the holidays I must say that Carnival & Royal were more festive than NCL. The Joy was a lot of fun though with the waterslides, & the Footloose show was fantastic.
This trip is a surprise for my girl. From the video the ship looks like you do not see it as you drive in the parking garage is that correct? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I want to wait to the very last minute for her to find out what we are doing. Thanks !
Well- it is very likely that you will see the cruise ship as you near the port. If you disguise it as a visit to the Queen Mary which is right next door it might work better. Have a great time!
It is pretty similar- they'll scan your luggage & you have to go through a metal detector. But it's quicker than the airport security. Have a wonderful first cruise! 🙂
Thank you so much for your Video..How much did it cost to uber from the airport to port and from port back to the airport need to know so i can put it in my budget?
From the parking lot can you walk over to the queen mary ? Or is it closed off. It my first time and it would be nice to get a few pics of the ship before getting on the cruise without having to look for parking twice
They have all those chairs and benches at the check in area but it seems like you all didn't wait at them....are they even used? The reason I'm asking is because I will be going outta that port in January and I have a suite and was curious if that's what the captains lounge was for...
Yeah I'm pretty sure that's what that lounge is for- the suite guests. The check-in process we experienced was very streamlined, especially since they put in different check in times for groups of guests on the cruise doc, so that prevents everyone showing up at once. So yeah overall it was pretty quick, so that's why there was no need to wait.
The main thing is your passport, so get that renewed right away if it's expired. Also thing that is vital is to be sure to keep up-to-date on boarding requirements regarding vaccinations/COVID-testing. Beyond that make sure you print out your cruise ticket printout with the barcode.
For Carnival they assign you a time- so you should arrive maybe 30 minutes before that. They do that to avoid everyone showing up at the same time which make the lines seem extra long.
@@TravelTouristVideos is it metal detectors or the body scanners? I'm just curious because I'm going on a carnival cruise in a week but I have a medical condition that doesnt allow me to go through the body scanners. Its usually a hassle so I'd just like to know what I'm getting into before I go.
It's a typical metal scanner like going through a door, not one of those new airport body scanners. They also have portable metal detecting wands if you can't go through the regular metal scanner as well. Have a great cruise!
@@TravelTouristVideos ok thanks!! Standard metal detectors are fine. It's the 3d body scanners that I cannot go through. I have a surgically implanted insulin pump so that's a relief.
thank you!!!!! you showed me thr exact process for my Carnival trip next month!😍😍😍
You’re very welcome- have a wonderful cruise!
Wow the carnival cruise terminal looks like an airport but it's shaped like a ball like an IMAX dome theater
It looks pretty funky and futuristic for sure!
I have gone to that carnival imagination to Las Vegas
I would've gotten there earlier so I could go to see The Queen Mary. I'm biased being I love history and I would most likely do the tour.
For sure- that's a fun excursion to do before or after the cruise!
Thanks for this! Taking the Imagination in a week and was feeling nervous about where to go and what will happen.
You’re very welcome- have a wonderful cruise on the Imagination!
How was it? I will be on that ship in 30 days.
Great information with details and video. Thank you so much. How about temperatures inside staterooms, dining room and deck in December cruise?

You bet- anytime!

You're very welcome! Yes I recall there were pavilions you can wait under outside the terminal building.
Awesome video!!!
Appreciate it- thanks for taking time to comment!
6:17 sooooo beautiful :o! I have the Ship AS model :D

It does look a bit like the Titantic with those funnels especially.

Suggestion, in the video description, add the name of the ship you were sailing on.
is security just like at the airport? i’ve never cruise and am sailing out of long beach next month!

I think it would be about $45 one way from LAX.
YAAAAAAAAY LIFEBOATS!!!!!!!

You sure can- we posed for some photos with the Queen Mary before entering the cruise terminal.

is there a trick to play this at normal speed? I'm getting a headache watching this.
What documents did you have to give to board ? Curious I am going with friends in November so trying to find out what papers I need to bring

How early did you arrive and when can we start boarding the boat?
For Carnival they assign you a time- so you should arrive maybe 30 minutes before that. They do that to avoid everyone showing up at the same time which make the lines seem extra long.
what time did you get to the terminal, and how long did it take you to board? thanks
Sure thing- we got to the terminal a little before 11 am and were on the ship about 30 minutes later which was quite fast.
Where do you go for Faster to the Fun?
It would be a separate line- just show them your pass and they will direct you.
What did you guys do for parking? Thanks in advance!
We were dropped off, but you can park inside the parking structure there for $17 a day.
Uber/Lyft or get dropped off. Paying for parking can add $$ to your trip.
@@essencekk I live a state away and I had to drive there. I ended up parking.
Do they make you go through metal detectors before you first get on the ship?
Yup just like the airport.
