Really gave this hard look, but decided on the Odin 2. But i have to admit this looks so sleek but less comfortable to use without the case. I might reconsider and get this down the road
I dunno. Really wanted to love mine, but I finally got it yesterday and dang. Super disappointed. Can't remap the custom buttons, Daijisho doesn't work properly with it since it doesn't recognize the triggers (analog or button mode), I haven't found any NS games that work on it yet... It just has too many shortcomings right now. The Odin 2 was good to go out of the box. Everything "just worked." But mine will probably end up on a shelf for a few months until the software properly supports everything.
@@muzll0dr have you tried using apps like mantis gamepad to map the keys to onscreen buttons? Does ayaspace have something similar? I'm kinda curious since I was considering one of these
I feel their alot basis reviews of this devices, many non gamers reviewing it , or people that not aware of this device true purpose. This device first is for a heavy mobile gamer and emulator people with some media play back capabilities. As for price u should be compareing it to a flag ship phone like 1tb samsung 24 ultra, samung 1 tb tablet, iphone 1tb, and their phone tablet. Which i seen many review channels ingnore. I own this device its very customizable and it has one of the best 1080p screens i ever seen at this size. I enjoy it alot and i dont need to be running down my cellphone gaming anymore I give it break.
It looks pretty and cool. I like the glowing part on the joystick. But the thing is, it feels I couldn't put a tempered glass over it since the controllers on the side has also a glossy finish. That bad boy in my possession will get scratched without a doubt. 😅
The Odin 2 is superior, IMHO. Absolutely no problem at all. I know that type of D-pad that unit uses, (it's similar to what I have on my Switch currently) and it's horrible, at least in fighting games or really any game where precision is essential.
Im not happy about the corners and the metal surround. The heat combined with the sharp corner makes it tough to play on. Pocket s is the best for about 2 minutes before It gets hot pockets hot. Good thing i kept my Odin 2.
Some games like CoD Mobile and Star Rail only have controller support for Xbox controllers, but some 3rd party controllers spoof themselves to work. Do you know if the Pocket S will work on these games?
Hoping Ayaneo updates the graphics drivers. I know its a new chipset with the Adreno A32 but man, I know theres untapped potential here for some amazing Switch emulation.
There are custom turnip drivers for this chipset now! I played a bit of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on this and it's unreal to see a game like that emulating smoothly on a handheld -- google "turnip Adreno A32 Special Edition" if you wanna try them out

You can have a black console and it not be a fingerprint magnet. It all depends on the materials that the manufacturer uses. I had a black Gamecube and the controllers were never a fingerprint magnet.
What gets me is for a gaming device, how does it not have a headphone jack? Like I rather spend less and get an Odin 2, better ergonomics, nearly as fast and it has a headphone jack. I say get this if you wish to put it in the pocket, a bigger pocket without a case and for the looks. Other than that this is a big pass for me. It's too damn fragile. Great review!
I know it's old tech, but comments like this make me want to get an Odin 2. I have an Odin 2 Mini on the way, but still....I want to experience it first hand. Also, thank you!
@@baldlyrudy You're welcome! Sorry for the delay, I had my comment replies notification turned off. I mean it's a great handheld but it just isn't for me given the price. I live in Canada, so that Odin base instead of $300, would call me nearly $400 with the exchange rate, it's still a tough pill to swallow but bang for the buck? Ya know? heh.. Did you get the Mini yet? I'm just subscribing. I already own an Odin 1 base and I LOVE IT, order #8**, one of the firsts that got it, it has some issues like tons of micro cracks in it but it gets the job done. Sorry but this device is utter garbage. I hope my Odin 2 comes back soon because all its issues are driving me crazy. Can't even properly set up a wallpaper. 😢
Agreed. I honestly think 1080 is the max resolution that you need on a handheld. Though there are a ton of Legion Go fans that are more than happy with 2560x1600.
The best? I'll give that it has a powerfull snapdragon SOC but that's it, everything else from the form factor (that looks just like a cheap phone with controllers slapped on), to the lack of proper cooling screams UNFINISHED product. @@const3llations_370 Sorry little man, but you have no idea what you're talking about, everything about this screams unfinished and cheap product, it looks like a cheap android phone with some controllers slapped on. Doubles up as a nice hand warmer for winter... and a portable cooking surface in summer.
A lot of truth here.

I bought a tempered glass from AliExpress for mine which I’m pretty happy with and goes over both controllers. You should find it if you look for it.
