Boy... I goofed up the sequence of these videos. This is actually the first video of a two part dig. Last night I accidentally published the video where I metal detect the dirt I am digging in this video before I backfill the hole. This is me actually digging the hole. Sorry 'bout that.
I hope you enjoy the video and don’t forget to give it a like and subscribe if you like my channel. Please check out NQ Explorers here to see this adventure from a different perspective and the many other exciting adventures on their channel. bit.ly/NQExplorers

A lot of Aussie bottles are easy to identify from the manufacturer stamp. AGM (Australian Glass Manufacturer) as a stylized emblem. They can be dated by the style of the emblem, the manufacture seams and other things like that. AGM bottles are very common. I like the Pecks paste jars, and the ink well bottles. Cordial bottles are another one to look out for because they usually have a nice design and are usually not far from the local drink maker...the history being tied to the area. Also like the small poison and drug bottles. Specially if the cork is in the bottom.

Could be HP Sauce as it is available here now, but it looks more like Bushel's coffee and chicory essence. Add hot water and you have a coffee based drink. Still on sale. Another possibility is a rum bottle. Local wholesalers would buy rum concentrate, dilute with town water and use their own bottle and labels. This was still going on in the 1960s or 70's. Small bottle would have been fountain pen ink.

Forgot to mention QLD was full of U.S. personal and equipment during WW2 and depleted of a fair percentage of fit young Australian men during Vietnam, war. Also, Australians did not wear Hugo Boss to battle. Dressed like bags of meat the went proudly, to defend. If only the internet and Y/T existed at that time, would have we fell for it?
