    This humbled me.
    Three years later after a lot more experience i returned to this video. I thought I was doing the pelican curl properly, but understanding each part of the movement made me realise how more difficult this exercise is.
    Thanks for the good explanation. I’m now going to start my real pelican curl journey

    I was able to perform a hefesto just with pelican push ups. When you are able to do 3 pelican push ups with rings at the same level of your feets, you can perform a hefesto on bar, finally when you can do 5 reps like i said, you could do a hefesto on rings

    From my experience this is the best exercise for the biceps !! better than curls, but I stopped doing it because of golfer's elbow pain!!

    I always did regular pull ups and they worked well for me. But these push ups are badass. I will definitely try it. If you decide to do the Combined Pull and Press video this is a good exercise to add.

      Syeds Presentations it will provide you something for a little bit of a time, but you need progressive overload, so i would recommend buying a pair of rings

    weren t we talking about bicep isolation?! if were wondering the same question, the answer is: perform only the bottom of the movement (start from the bottom of the push up, go down, push back up to the bottom of the push up and tht s a rep)

    Hey Dominik, is there an ideal bar thickness that you prefer for pulling work? Recently I built my own outside pull up bar with a thinner diameter and I think it may be too thin.

      Awesome thanks! Mine is just about 28mm and it is usable, but too small for my hands to wrap comfortably round...just enough to make levers even harder haha :)

    Great stuff! I do an easy version of the pelican pushup. Not sure If I am doing right the movement. I am stretching the arms quite straight behind the back (at least that is my feeling, no mirror).I have the impression that your arms go a little bit to the side. What is better? Why go out to the side? Would be glad to receive an answer.💪

      your eng is fine =P I can do it on rings but haven't yet done it on a bar.... on the bar it feels funny =D even reverse muscleup is easier for me... but I'm getting there and I'm quite happy with hefesto on rings for now cause it's really not a part of my main practise... =)

      Ryan Crabtree you can try false grip hanging (active or passive) and then pull ups

      Ryan Crabtree from a row position, use false grip just to hang, once feel comfortable, you can do rows.
