Probably why they added the grapple hook, to add more traversal and fast movement across this big ass map. Who in their right mind complains about sprint in a open world game.
I was worried about how they would make a new Halo but keep it fresh and “modern”, Halo 5 over did that, but god damn, if this is what we get... it’s a damn near perfect balance of new and classic Halo

I'm guessing you start off with the Halo reach AR and over time you can upgrade it into different Versions of the rifle. And odds are his armor can be augmented as well, maybe even possible to go for a "Heavy" playstyle where he uses his Halo 4 suit, Of "Stealth" where he has smaller armor pieces
Man, I fucking love this. "Fight on, die well." Even though they're mortal enemies, this mysterious new Brute still had respect for Chief. He knows of everything Chief's done, and everything he's capable of. I always love seeing respect for the main character from antagonists, and so far, I'm loving this new one. A lot. I just hope we see some of the Arbiter, as he's my favorite character.

Yes the new open world style to the game is nice but I can't tell if halo 3 graphics are worse or better then these... the brute at the end looked plastic ish and the textures looked un rendered or dull... I hope this isn't the final style for the game. Yes going back to the old style of armor and sangheili and what not is great but the graphics were very underwhelming.

@@danielbrenem3429 it's not how clear it looks that is the issue. It's a downgraded render issue. 1080p and 4k really is just how sharp it is on even small details it doesn't change graphics and rendering.
I'm a PC player and I'm happy to buy in on these former exclusives. Microsoft is expanding their market and I think they are gonna take the win overall with the Xbox Game Pass and PC + XboxSX ecosystem they're building

The one thing they had in common was that I do not poses a single game from that time where you were able to sprint. So can you tell me some games where you were able to do so? from just this snippet of game play I really like this game and it feels like so much more potential has already been added to the halo franchise from this footage. It has made me feel nostalgic upon watching this, reminding me of the older halo games, as well as the game play itself and the legendary soundtracks. It feels like the older halo games in a way which has got me very very exited.

So I have a theory about the brute I think that he's an older brute and he's already destroyed the unsc fleet, and he was getting bored and alone without having anyone left to fight. I think he sees chief as his final achievement and he respects chief as the Demon and tells him to fight hard so that he has the greatest challenge possible in his last fight.

Play on heroic as well ,and if you get it on steam you can get only the ones you want. I got ce halo 2, 3 and reach and I will also get odst. Plus there are alot of great mods for the campaign of reach I got one that added the banished and a bunch of new weapons.

Master Chief is back, I can finally pretend 4 and 5 Chief was a nightmare and admire Chief in all his glory. Finally the true Master Chief has returned to us.

I also am a massive fan and have been on this ride called halo since the very first one dropped with a new gaming console called xbox and yes it was just "xbox" since then I have read every single book and played every single game. I have loved having a life where I could grow up in a world filled with halo fantasy and the awe-inspiring mysteries of the forerunners and an ever expanding story. As a fan I hope that this game does as well as I know the rest of you are hoping for. If this games mechanics and gameplay out do its lack of nextgen looking graphics I will be happy "but" I fear that if it does not hold up, then we may never see a new halo game again. So my fingers are crossed that the game play will blow my mind because the visuals haven't yet.

Visuals are fine, it's just the art style. Doesn't need to be super realistic to be good. Also, it has to run on current gen hardware so that could be holding it back. Looks great imo
the only thing i wish they changed about the sprint: make it an armour ability like in Reach. that way purists can have no sprint while modern can have it.

Bad: 1. Lack of volumetric lighting / God rays. 2. MAJOR pop in problems 3. Lack of any ambient occlusion to give more depth to the environment 4. No Global illumination 5. Low resolution textures on enemies 6. Low poly scenery / vehicles. 7. Missing shadows from enemies 8. AI just stands there while being shot. 9. Poor sounds for the Warthog - it sounds like a Subaru. 10. Washed out colors that have very little contrast compared to the other halos. 11. Not showing us action packed moments in halo. 12. Not showing any multiplayer?? 13. Looks like minecraft style landscapes lol 14. Vehicles look like they are on rails Good: 1. Lots of new guns. 2. Open world 3. Its Halo

The sprint in Infinite is much slower compared to Halo 5 which was the right thing to do instead of completely removing sprint in an open world game.

That demo was for e3 so it is a few months old they are probably improving the quality

They seriously need to change the Warthog's engine sound. It reminds me of a Subaru.

I also am a massive fan and have been on this ride called halo since the very first one dropped with a new gaming console called xbox and yes it was just "xbox" since then I have read every single book and played every single game. I have loved having a life where I could grow up in a world filled with halo fantasy and the awe-inspiring mysteries of the forerunners and an ever expanding story. As a fan I hope that this game does as well as I know the rest of you are hoping for. If this games mechanics and gameplay out do its lack of nextgen looking graphics I will be happy "but" I fear that if it does not hold up, then we may never see a new halo game again. So my fingers are crossed that the game play will blow my mind because the visuals haven't yet.
People freaked the fuck out when it was shown, and not in a good way. I think they're really jaded with their expectations because it looks fucking amazing.
I'm glad they decided to use Halo wars 2 Designs on the banished and Vehicles, makes since, especially the Phantom shown, literally the Phantom straight from Halo wars 2

Visuals are fine, it's just the art style. Doesn't need to be super realistic to be good. Also, it has to run on current gen hardware so that could be holding it back. Looks great imo

the only thing i wish they changed about the sprint: make it an armour ability like in Reach. that way purists can have no sprint while modern can have it.

I don’t get why people are getting mad at sprinting. ITS AN OPEN WORLD GAME! It’s gonna take ages to walk from point A to point B unless you find a vehicle. Like bruh
We got ambience and mystery back boys!
Bad:
1. Lack of volumetric lighting / God rays.
2. MAJOR pop in problems
3. Lack of any ambient occlusion to give more depth to the environment
4. No Global illumination
5. Low resolution textures on enemies
6. Low poly scenery / vehicles.
7. Missing shadows from enemies
8. AI just stands there while being shot.
9. Poor sounds for the Warthog - it sounds like a Subaru.
10. Washed out colors that have very little contrast compared to the other halos.
11. Not showing us action packed moments in halo.
12. Not showing any multiplayer??
13. Looks like minecraft style landscapes lol
14. Vehicles look like they are on rails
