We did a 9000BTU for our 7 x 14 cargo trailer and put the outdoor unit in front in place of propane tanks. We did 1" (R5) insulation all around. Ran fine down to 17F is our lowest winter camping. Mine tops out at 1100w. Takes about 4kwh/24hrs for mild temps (50F low to 90F hi) but up to 22kwh/24hrs for 17F low. We run off battery with 3000w inverter + grid assist. We're ready to start our 3rd year and all has been fine. We run it all year to keep things 'reasonable' inside (80F for summer and 50F for winter to avoid freezing) when parked at home as we have full kitchen, shower, TV, etc etc. If I ever do another one - I'll try for at least 2" (or as much as I can fit) insulation for less power consumption.

Kevin, if you are thinking about adding air conditioner. I recommend checking out the ecoflow wave 2 portable air/heater or the zero breeze air conditioner.
What is the specific model of the mini split? I'm doing a 7×14 and this would be perfect. Also do you have a problem with the ac short cycling since the trailer is smaller square feet than 9k covers?
That unit looks super ugly so since is a small trailer he should’ve do a small 7 k 12 v. Roof top unit and he would’ve be able to run it in a 400 amp 12 v lifepo battery for ever with a small solar array
