This has to be one of the most informative straight to the point how to video I have seen keep up the good work! Just ordered these coils for my 17 f sport CT and was worried the ride quality would be too rough for daily driving after hearing your opinion I think I will too enjoy this upgrade.
appreciate the detailed overview! always great to listen for reviews and what each and every step is. i did BC BR series on my 2019 WRX and it was also very easy. I never changed suspension before, but only watched videos here. the simple fact of removing nuts and bolts and being complacent w/ my actions was really the benefit along with of course the technology of the coilovers. Would definitely do again. One tip though i learned was to use some anti seize or lubricant around the threading of the ride height portion of the shock in the even you want to make it easier for ride height adjustment in the future.
Great video! I found the last set of blue f sport lowering spring BNIB in another country and having them shipped here in the states for my new to me 2016 ct200h f-sport. Great video showing how to install them. I'm really surprised at how easy the rear springs are to do on this car!! I can't wait to install them when I get them shortly!
Hey, great vid, but I have a question. At 15:25, how do you get the cap off the top of the strut bearing to get to the 19mm bolt on the end of the strut? Mine is in there real tight and I'm not sure if it's press-fit or threaded? Thanks.
I'm coming back to this because it was such a good how to. I just installed F sport blue lowering springs both front and rear in my car is not any lower than the normal black springs that were on my F sport. This is the first time in my life I've never seen springs lower the car so I'm at a complete and total loss? Do you have any idea what might be causing this. I purchased new struts which are the same exact part number as my F support new top hats etc. All items are identical from what I've taken off in compared. I even went so far as to taking apart my old strut putting this new F sport spring on that putting it back on the car and it still didn't lower the car at all. I checked the top hats to make sure they were through the firewall purchase all the way and there are up against the metal so there's no gap or anything like that that would prevent it from being fully seated. I've even driven around all week and they still haven't settled or lowered. I put the car back on jack stands / my lift lowered it with the jack stands underneath all the lower control arms loosened all the bushings and then retorqued everything thinking that possibly having it being in the air with no weight on it would have been a problem. Still the same exact height.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic yeah I made a post about it on CT200h form in on club Lexus The weirdest thing apparently our top hats have to separate slightly and that's what causes the car to lower. The brand new top hats that I purchased OEM were not separated at all and neither was the stock struts or top hats on the mileage I had that I took off. Drove it around for a week and nothing changed then on Saturday I go in my garage and I noticed that the gap was starting to happen and the front end is half an inch lower lol. I'm busy changing some things out on the car now but I'll be driving it next week so I'm sure it will settle about another half an inch which will be good. In my haste I ended up buying TANABE springs thinking that I had defective or fake F sport springs but sure enough it's working out lol. I'd like to see what the other springs look like for lowering the car but right now we'll see what happens. I will note that the Blue springs handle phenomenally though very little body roll if any. I also installed a Cusco power brace and an ultra racing front strut bar which I think greatly helped as well. The CT is not a fast car by any means but man does it take corners very flat.
Thank you for the video, it was very detailed and made installation very easy. I am currently having an issue with clunking over bumps or bumpy roads. Center top hat bolts are tight, added a little more preload to see if it wasn’t enough, but still having the clunking. Going to try maybe tightening the sway bar end link nuts in case I didn’t tighten them enough. Any suggestions?
Hey Marlon, thanks for watching and the support to the channel. After reading the items you re-adjusted, I don't have any other suggestions. My first thought was improper TQ specs on the tophat, but you said they are tight. Do yo recall how tight? Coils should be at least 50-60ft/lbs, sometimes even more for the tophats.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic Possible the shock wasn't properly fitted into the control arm? i had some odd sound after installation but that was due to the brake shield being bent from my jack holding it from falling. It could be a very simple fix, just look at every portion of your car where the installation took place and you should be able to find the culprit.
Hey Peter, great tips and great video too. May I know does these fits into my CT 2013 model? And what’s this BC model? And mind I ask where I can get it. Looking forward and thank you!
Hey Steve, Thanks for the support and watching. The BC model I purchased for my CT is the BC, BR series. They are designed to fit CTs from 2011-2017. If I were you, check out eBay and find the lowest priced seller. Hope this helps Steve!
Great video! How did you remove the top 3 nuts on the top of the strut mount? Did you sneak in there with a box end wrench or did you go through the hassle of removing the wiper cowling and motor?
When the coils are installed, you have to "spin" the body of the shock to raise/lower the vehicle. DO NOT raise/lowered the spring perch because that impacts your spring preload.
The Automotive Fanatic do you know where i could put some washers in the front to achieve more camber? I don’t have plates on my BC coils and I already bought camber bolts but I think it won’t be enough for me
@@ootdammi, sorry, I meant you would need camber bolts, which you already have. Check out this thread: www.clublexus.com/forums/ct-200h-model-2011-present/677708-front-camber-adjustment-2.html One of the guys was able to get 2.6* of negative camber!

The tip you provided, is one I normally do. I coat with anti seize, then spin the rings up and down to fully coat it.
Very well made video. Thank you for the tutorial. Now I am capable of installing my coil overs!
Thanks for watching and the support! Cheers!
Thanks Peter. Just got some springs for my roommate. With your video I know its going to be a piece of cake install.
Thanks for watching and the support smookee408. This project will not be difficult at all!
Excellent sharing !

This video was really precise and well explained. Thank you!

Awesome info picking up coilovers next week for my ct
You'll find the install to be pretty easy. Good luck and post up if you have questions!

If I can recall correctly, it's just snapped in place. You can use a sharp pick to pry it off.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic thanks. I wasn’t noticing that the cap is the smaller round rubber piece in the center.

Can you make a video on how to adjust ride height on the rears? :)
tofuprod, if I can find some spare time, I will put together a video on how to do this.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic Awesome!
Great video! How did you remove the top 3 nuts on the top of the strut mount? Did you sneak in there with a box end wrench or did you go through the hassle of removing the wiper cowling and motor?
Eric, I used a box end wrench with the open end connected to another wrench for leverage.
Great video, are there any issues with the ride height sensor after lowering the vehicle?
Thomas, in all honesty, I do not recall if the vehicle has leveling sensors or not. I do not think it does.
Hey great vid quick question what lowering springs did you use tho?
Thanks for the support Lowkey. If you're asking about the coilover brand, I used BC coils. The springs are part of the coilover setup.

Thanks for the video. What tools did you use? Did you use electric or air tools?
Roth, I used a combination of air and electric power tools.
Is an alignment required afterwards?
I would recommend it!
Is there anyway to get more front camber besides camber plates and bolts? Maybe washers?
From what I know, only camber plates and a combination of angled bolts/washers.
The Automotive Fanatic do you know where i could put some washers in the front to achieve more camber? I don’t have plates on my BC coils and I already bought camber bolts but I think it won’t be enough for me
