Could you show us how the pump attaches to the skimmer base without the vent tube kinking? I can figure out how to attach the pump without pinching tubing. Your video has been the only one I have found online to even show the base of this skimmer. Thanks!

See if this helps. Hold the base such that you are looking through the hole in the side at the bottom. Slide the air tube down through the base such that it is sticking out the bottom. Hold the pump under the base and align it such that the hole in the front of the pump is aligned with the side hole in the base. Rotate the venturi such that the air nipple would be at 10:00 on a clock face. Attach the air tube to the air nipple on the pump. Push the pump up into the base while gently pulling the air tube up. Push the pump stem into it's base receptacle. Now if you look through the base hole on the side you should be looking directly into the pump hole. There may be some steep bending of the air tube, but will not effect performance. Let me know if that helped.

Did it work the same after the clean?

Very good question. After the clean everything went back to normal in performance, but if you reference my next clean in this video, th-cam.com/video/mi-hJwTVRSU/w-d-xo.html, it became very loud. This tiny pump fits into a very small space and it turns out it has to pushed up as far as possible and turned such that the output hole of the pump aligns with a hole in the side of the housing, else it rattles and buzzes. It is very difficult to get my chubby little fingers in that space to work.

@@jakegarcia9164 It has been so long since I first set it up that I can't remember how long it took before they stopped, but they did stop. You can try a piece of course foam wedged between the skimmer and the spill way into the return pump chamber, that should reduce them until it breaks in,
