Hey Marcus, great work on todays video with Kayla. I recently found out about a “contour gauge profile tool” . It looks like a real game changer when it comes to tricky corners and eliminates some of the math!
It’s so important that we see the real setbacks so when they happen to us we don’t feel defeated. Thanks for keeping it real with us. I think this reimagined vision will come together beautifully!
Renovations always have their hiccups. It's saying so much about y'all that y'all didn't give up though!! And y'all are the cutest couple ever too. My husband would be so annoyed and done going to all those stores and talking about all the options lol. So I do all the designing by myself! I cannot wait to see your laundry room when it's all done and cannot wait to start on my laundry room reno too!!
Marcus is so patient. My husband would have literally ruined multiple sheets of bead board and ended up throwing the saw across the yard LOL. It’s going to be so cute when it’s done. We had a stackable washer and dryer in our old house and we loved it, so I think you’ll end up enjoying them. They do save a lot of space.
You remind me of myself when I bought my first 2 bed room 1 bath house as a single mom 27 years ago. Keep up the good work you and Marcus should inspire other young couples
Not many couples would have persevered after the first two beadboard fitting attempts. That says a lot about you and Marcus and your strong relationship, that you powered through a very frustrating situation without blowing up. No apologies to your viewers are necessary! I think a lot of us can relate to the struggle. It is going to be awesome! Have you considered putting an electric baseboard in the laundry room to keep mold at bay during the cold months and humid months?
I still get inspired by watching you guys work through things that aren't going super quick and easy. And one thing I've learned from doing a little DIY myself is sometimes a little bit of progress can lead to bigger things later on.
Part of why I love your channel is how real your diy and home reno stuff is! This video was great because it was honest. Hoping you have better luck as this room progresses!
I appreciate the transparency that your videos bring. I like that you included all the bumps in the road that you both experienced but didn’t give up or jump to end result where everything was perfect. It allows me to realize that when I try something like this in my home it’s ok to hit them bumps and continue on and it will be ok, it will work out! So thank you for that
We love a transparent queen! And we support you every step of the way Kay, it's all a part of the process. The laundry room is going to turn out great! ❤
Thank you Kayla and Marcus for sharing what goes on during a renovation. Sometimes we come across some things we can’t get done very fast. But y’all let us know that never giving up will pay off. Looking forward to next video.Have a blessed week.
I always look forward to your videos. Thanks for the transparency. I appreciate you and Marcus for not making this look too glamorous. I think that’s why you have so many followers. Great video as usual. Btw, I picked option 2, then one. I look forward to seeing the end result.
You and Marcus are doing a great job! I'm in the same situation, small outdoor laundry room in the carport that is not temperature controlled. Although my laundry was already remodeled when I moved in this house, I have the same issue with the huge water heater, and have been to that Lowe's outlet looking at their stackable options. I can't wait to see the end result, you guy's are giving me ideas.
You guys are the best, I love the reality of your videos. It's not some made up stuff but does show sometimes it does not go as planned and it's time for the backup plan, but that's life. Thank you for being kind enough to let us go on this adventure with you.
Any video you post is enjoyable sis. You and Marcus are an amazing team and complement each other well. This is the reality of renovations and people need to see it’s not always glamorous. At least you know the end result will be spectacular and that you guys can look back at all your hard work put into this gorgeous home.
It’s ok that things don’t work out the first time. Because being patient and looking at other options will tuen out for the better. The stackable set is a GREAT idea for what you are trying to do. The second look and your measurements will work out fine y’all have fun and take your time.
I used the faux pre-painted beadboard in my shed to tiny house, on the ceilings, and walls . i love it! so much cheaper than dry wall and so much less work.
I always enjoy your videos! This is real life, adjusting and adapting... Great pivot! You make a wonderful team. You're headed into life together with a solid foundation. Can't wait to see the final outcome! I'm sure it will be gorgeous!
Hello Kayla! I knew you was going for option #2. Lucky #7 finally worked out. You are great at decorating, and Marcus is a Jack of all trades! Never give up! The laundry room is going to be beautiful!😊😊
Love the transparency. I would like to see @HomeDepot and @Lowe's sponsor some tools for Marcus! I can't wait until the finish project. Y'all got this! #perseverance
I love your channel and you and Marcus are my son and daughter in my head. You both make me smile and I enjoy your DIY projects. May God continue to bless you both abundantly.
I thought you got a lot accomplished in spite of the change of plans. You did not throw in the towel. You stayed within the budget. You got one panel up, it wasn't easy. I think you guys are awesome.👍
Listen! Y'all Got This! Just take your time and enjoy the process. You both Always get it done, no matter what. It's just a little setback, the Best is yet to come. Keep your head up!! 👍🏽🙂
I get it, Marcus. Sometimes the math don't be mathing when it comes to construction projects. The materials seem to have a mind of their own sometimes. I still have Vietnam flashbacks to when I built raised beds out of wood pallets for my garden LOL!
Marcus I would have been fine with 15 tries, I Love your Effort, Diligence & Patience! You did a Awesome job. You are the MAN! Continue to grow & be the WONDERFUL PERSON YOU ARE! I LOVE YALL, YOU GUYS ARE INSPIRING TO A OLD GIRL!!!!
Renovations are hard and you and Marcus are doing this on your own. Be patient, it will get done. Take your time and don't stress. If anyone is in a hurry to see it get done than they can come and help you. Marcus I am with you about those fractions my brother, I hate figuring out those things.
You and Marcus are a winning team; I have no doubt that this project will succeed. I can tell that just from what you two have already done with so much of your home. I mean…look how Marcus made that awesome farmhouse table and so many nice room restorations where you worked as a team. You were meant doe each other. I watch both your channels and love um!!! I am a sucker for love and romance and you two are it!
Great video as always Kayla! I know these challenges seem minor but this is good practice for married life. Being able to deal with difficulties is crucial for a successful marriage! You all are strengthening your bond with every project! Always enjoy watching and wishing you all the best :)
Life isn’t perfect so don’t feel bad. The thing about remolding things don’t always go smooth and perfect. You learn when it doesn’t you keep pushing through the failures and get joy in the end. Life lessons. But you got this!!! ❤️
Kayla, I love watching you and Marcus turn your house into the home that you both want. You're doing an awesome job! Keep posting and I will keep watching and commenting. 🤗
Kayla I always look forward to seeing you and your boo on TH-cam. It’s so exciting cause I love decorating and making decorating ideas mine. I am so happy for you guys.
Thank you Kayla, for sharing the real behind the struggles of putting a project together. Marcus is a real trooper; he keeps showing his patients and carpenters skills that he is a real keeper; you are truly blessed to have him in your life. Looking forward to seeing the finishing touches and future projects. By the way where in ATL is the Outlet located, I live in Gwinnett and looking for a washer and dryer as well so it would be good to save some coins.
Gurl you all accomplished a lot! This is the reality of home renovations!!! Pivoting during the planning stage is part of the process. Marcus is so patient. You all are doing amazing work….keep going! 💓
The patience Marcus has on those cuts is !!! My ex would have thrown the tools, broke the bead board , that's why he is my ex. You two are a great team.
Hi is me again, As I was suggesting get a tankless water heater, the water is hit all the time. The $ you are spending on plumbing, electricity, can be use for your tankless. Take care and good luck🦋 You also Marcus, you are a great guy🦋

Yes baby 🙌🏾
Curious.. where are things at with the laundry room? I am dying to see how the tiles look assuming you chose the ones you were considering.
I love that you are starting to say "our" instead of "my". Marcus is being represented because it's his house too.
Exactly 🤗💗
Right but I don’t blame you girl had to get that 💍 first.

Don't be embarrassed about the stackable. It's still a vast upgrade to that room. Sometimes you need to take the cost-effective approach.
Yesss! Definitely not embarrassed it just wasn’t what I was quite picturing for the space but I think it’s gonna turn out nice ❤️🥰
Young Lady Business Girl wait a few months. At the rate your channel is growing Lowe’s or Home Depot will be clamoring to sponsor you!!
Love my “Craftsman Of The Year” shirt!

@@YoungLadyBusiness you're welcome 😊
I’m waiting on HGTV to give y’all a show. I love how well you all work together!💕
Every DIY is a learning process. You go Marcus. ❤
Yesssss! 🙌🏾💗
Hello, suggestion, take the trim off then you don’t have to cut around it. The panel can sit under the trim. Food for thought!
I suggested that after we tried a couple time lol 😂 next time for sure!!!
Nobody can go hard every weekend and get things done quickly! For awhile, I’ve been like “slow down girl!”. And I am an interior designer 🤣
I appreciate you showing the set backs because it's part of the DIY process; not everything goes smoothly but everything is a good learning experience
Luv that you guys don’t allow the small obstacles to STOP you. Great job on the laundry room thus far. 👏🏾👏🏾🥰🥰
I don't think there's a home reno that has ever really gone according to plan but you guys are handling things gracefully. Team work.....
Lol Marcus seems like the type of person to call someone "shuga" and I love it! 😭 he has such an old soul. It's so comforting!
