54:59 The poppy flowers became symbolic for the fallen of WW1 because those flowers were, on many places in Belgium, the first ones to grow on the devestated battlefields.
54:44 as a canadian i knew EXACTLY what he was talking about IMMEDIATLY when he said it and i think it's SO funny that he brought that up so nonchalantly and confused everyone ALSO for people who don't know, canadas veterans day had a war and at the end of it a bunch of poppy's grew or something so its like a big thing here to represent veterans day, don't think blarg knew it was just in canada though
5:16 - I feel like names like that come from either the Bible (Luke, James, etc) or they’re passed down in the family, kids being named after parents or grandparents.
Blarg is talking about the battle on the Flanders Fields in WW1. Canadian military doctor and poet John McCrae wrote a poem (In Flanders Fields) about the battle. Here he also mentions poppies.
A poem inspired the use of the poppy as a symbol of Remembrance. Shortly after losing a friend in Ypres in 1915, a Canadian doctor, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae was inspired by the sight of poppies growing in battle-scarred fields to write his now famous poem 'In Flanders Fields'.
Ay that intro was fire af Need an extended version of it so I can laugh while bench pressing and possibly choking myself with the barbell.....in game in game 😁.
Btw guys Spotify allows video podcasts to be uploaded now too so the listeners on there can now get more context. Thanks for my weekly brainrot session keep it up 🔥
For like the past week I’ve been listening to this podcast while at work and genuinely makes it a lot easier to get through the work day (I wash dishes at Buffalo Wild Wings if literally any single person on the planet is wondering, doubt it)
Some hardware stores have seasonings and rubs in the grilling/outdoor sections, and you can find some pretty good shit there that you can't find at a grocery store, which is kinda funny
It isnt only canada who do the poppies for veterans, we do it here in the UK where all money used to buy the poppies go to veteran charitys, red poppies are to remember soldier sacrifices, purple is for animal sacriffices
My local hardware store has a big selection of dry rubs, seasonings and BBQ sauces next to the smokers and grills. They have some good stuff including the Meat Church rubs.
Worked at a hardware store in college and we had a large selection of rubs and sauce next to the grills/pellets. We had regulars who only shopped there for them
Microwave chicken goes extremely hard. You just need a proper silicon steamer, some good seasoning and you're all set. Can do a whole chicken very quickly
My dad was recently telling me about a guy he works with named Harry Johnson. The best part is the guy has a brother named Harold, so it's not even like his name is short for anything. His parents are 10/10 trolls.
Topic idea- If you had to have one goon die who would it be, Topic idea- Which goon would be most ready to sacrifice themselves to save the rest of the goons
Most people dont know or have had tri tip because its a cut that got popular from central coast california. My sources are that i lived there for 30 years lol.
Blarg's no hand teacher probably put the nubs on the inside of the steering wheel and pushed on the... brace thing that connects the wheel part to the central part
I worked a summer job as an order picker at Home Depot, we had a bunch of Trager rubs and other brands by the grills. The Coffee rub is very good can recommend. Also fuck Home Depot worst place to work
Who else would like to see a 5-minute track of these guys throwing out whatever musical cancer they can throw together?
I think the song is called let me eat that ass

Soups set up is so fucking funny for no reason. It looks like the storage basement of a klan house.
57:48 I am officially a member of the goons podcast, I'm gonna be on the podcast on May 28, 2024. Be ready
4 days bro, you nervous?
Dude the intro vibes are honestly the highlight of my week, they're so chill and hilarious
As someone who has worked at home depot, they do in fact have BBQ rubs. They were in our garden department by the grills like mcnasty said
I unironically love this intro
good to see everyone together

Doo really had the perfect sounds for that intro 😂😂😂
as a home depot employee, we hide every sauce in every aisle for customers to find like an easter egg
absolutely beutiful. The Doo, McNasty, that other one that associates himself with Ethan, and Blarg.
What's beutiful. Auto correct wouldn't even let me butcher it like you did

For like the past week I’ve been listening to this podcast while at work and genuinely makes it a lot easier to get through the work day (I wash dishes at Buffalo Wild Wings if literally any single person on the planet is wondering, doubt it)
I'm wondering pal never had bww but I heard it's pretty good
16:15 every hunting store always got the best seasoning
Yall have the best intros in the game
i’m glad to see all of them making it to a podcast. it isn’t the same when one of them are missing
Some hardware stores have seasonings and rubs in the grilling/outdoor sections, and you can find some pretty good shit there that you can't find at a grocery store, which is kinda funny

I mean, I used to work at a hardware store, and we had quite the selection of various rubs. Including belly rubs for any of the dogs :)
My local hardware store has a big selection of dry rubs, seasonings and BBQ sauces next to the smokers and grills. They have some good stuff including the Meat Church rubs.
I worked at our local hardware store and I know exactly what McNasty is talking about.
I am from North Carolina and we do the poppy thing on Veterans day 😂😂 I know what you're talking about about Blarg!!
16:00 mcnastys speaking fax I live near chicago and ace hardware has the best rubs in my town
Worked at a hardware store in college and we had a large selection of rubs and sauce next to the grills/pellets. We had regulars who only shopped there for them
40:43 unnoticed fart went under the radar 😂
Blarg explaining veterans day is probably the best part of the podcast 😭😭😭
Microwave chicken goes extremely hard. You just need a proper silicon steamer, some good seasoning and you're all set. Can do a whole chicken very quickly
I think that's my favorite opening for sure
Yessssss every November I’d be putting the poppies through my little finger skins with the little needle thing
14:57 Ghost in mcnastys home. oh noo. so scary. I hope hes ok
I love just how Mcnasty’s mom just keeps walking by lol
At 0:40 best drop ever sounds amazing 🎉
Still goes hard x
The intros get better and better with each episode
I have Crocs that I used when I worked in kitchens would run them through the dishwasher at work at the end of the night by themselves
Blarg I’ve had to explain the poppy thing to my American friends way to many times
15:30 can confirm I work at a local hardware store and we have a bunch of rubs and other stuff for smoking and barbecuing
I CAN VOUCH FOR MCNASTY. I WENT TO MY LOCAL HARDWARE STORE AND GOT SUM BANGER ASS BBQ SAUCE 😩
They sell a bunch of them at Bunnings in Australia too
@@oscarrossow7137 Oh nice. I wish the USA had a bunnings. I’ll have to check it out if I come over there. 🤘🏻
TheDoooo Killin' it on the Keyboard.
I listen to you guys while playing WoW. Best pod cast ever. Blarg and McNasty are my fave!
24:22 "I'm gayer than a canadian!?" LMAO
Evolution type intro. Also, crocs are great. If you think differently you're wrong
As a menards employee I can say we do have a frozen section situated nicely between the tools and and appliance sections.
Bongo intro go hard 🔥 🔥
BABE, FINALLY THE GOONS ARE BACK WAKE UP
Just FYI home Depot does sell dry rubs, only the treager brand though. It's some good stuff
Blarg brought up the Paul baby scenario almost word for word again xD not complaining, just funny
Love Dooos Polyphia Shirt. Want to get some of their merch aswell. Also excited for the new goons merch drop.
Goons musical moments are always so magical. 🤙
The poppy thing is one of the only cool Canadian traditions. It's actually a cool thing.
Let's go. Time to Goon
Mcnasty is right. My Ace Hardware sells dry rub and hot sauce in the section with grills
The Goon's intros are what you hear on your death bed
The good ending
The second bongo bit reminded me of one of the Halo CE themes
@blarg needs to go to a Canadian Tire....the BBQ section is full of rubs, hot sauce and etc.
I’m gonna be honest if you go to an ace hardware center with a backyard barbecue center there’s wise for barbecue sauce
Soup it's in the greenhouse near the bbq section on aisle 43 or the endcap with the 3.6k bbq
I work at lowes lol they do have seasonings n stuff for the grill section.
My dad was recently telling me about a guy he works with named Harry Johnson. The best part is the guy has a brother named Harold, so it's not even like his name is short for anything. His parents are 10/10 trolls.
Topic idea-

I’ve seen rubs in like Home Depot near the grills and smokers and stuff and Academy Sports too of all places. Never thought to buy any from either
i love that mcnasty just has a fuckin sax sitting in the background
As a former Ace Hardware employee, I know exactly what Mcnasty is talking about. Small hardware stores always have the most random things in them
Most people dont know or have had tri tip because its a cut that got popular from central coast california. My sources are that i lived there for 30 years lol.
Highlight of my week, thanks guys 🙏🏼
I didn’t forget u promised two pods on back to back days
When all the boys are back in town
When the episode ends I have no idea what I listened to but damn it’s entertaining
55:05 The Canadian military would like to inform you of its presence, and its lack of concern for the "Geneva Suggestions"
16:00 as an employee at Lowes. We do have a selection of bbq rubs and sauces
Soup rocking the gojira shirt
mcnastys mom hiding her face eith a box had me dying
Where is 134
As a Home Depot employee I agree entirely with the fact I can show you everything but the sauces
Cold hot dogs & raw pohtaytoe are outstanding meals.
A microwave cooked raw chicken breast would look like a bunch of string stuck together
Blarg's no hand teacher probably put the nubs on the inside of the steering wheel and pushed on the... brace thing that connects the wheel part to the central part
“Is that a midget?!?”
- Soup
I worked a summer job as an order picker at Home Depot, we had a bunch of Trager rubs and other brands by the grills. The Coffee rub is very good can recommend. Also fuck Home Depot worst place to work

This is definitely one of the all time
My grandfather really did die too. Afternoon of July 3rd
No, he's right. It's Dry Bowser.
As a person who works at my local hardware store i can confirm that rubs exist and its a pretty common purchase
I understood exactly whatmatt was saying about the poppies (cuz we do it too in england) and then the others were so confused 😂
@McNasty yes 100. . If they have grills they have rub
As a home depot associate this made me so happy
I’ve never met a Adult named Hunter just little kids 😂😂
