I lost count of the amount of errors you made describing the components in this video.

Lmao not the only one, I couldn’t help but comment as we just got the same Chrysler / Kohler 48kw unit and this video had me pulling all my hair out. I don’t think this guy could correctly identify or fix the parts on a push mower. 😂

Kohler does make their own engines and that GM is a Kohler part number. Because when I was going to change the oil on mine I thought it was a General Motors part number number and the auto parts house had no records of that number. I called Kohler and they said they use GM at the beginning of all of their part numbers. So I get all of my parts from Kohler only. I have this same generator and I love it. Best investment I’ve ever made.

Really nice generator. Does your friend really have prolonged power outages?
I would just choose to have the essentials on the generator and go with a 4-cil. Like the fridge, lights, server, microwave, oven etc. 48kVA is about 3 times more than the usual house in NL lol.

We haven't had in the area a major power outage since Hurricane Sandy. Locally, I lost power for 7 hours when a transformer blew. In Sandy, I lost power for a day and some parts did lose power for a month due to flooding. For him, it's pure overkill. He is a very nice fellow who is super generous. He came from little and built himself up in real estate, though New York is determined to destroy real estate companies. It is a huge house. I am happy to see someone being able to have what he worked for, even though he really didn't know what he had. See my 35KW Briggs Generator: th-cam.com/video/ZfQxptYsk0w/w-d-xo.html

200A * 240V = 48 kW the generator's capacity is to match a typical homes 200 AMP service. Otherwise you have to have some sort of Load Shedding device that turns-off devices if capacity would otherwise be exceeded. That generator itself costs approximately $18,000. And probably closer to $45,000 to $50,000 installed. The only mistakes that I see is their local codes don't require a flexible gas line to the unit and The placement so close to a combustible fence which in my opinion is pretty stupid. These generators shake awfully. Considering that all of the coolant has leaked out, that entire generator needs to be pulled apart and the engine completely rebuilt the head gasket more than likely has a significant leak. They are screwed. I can't imagine them not purchasing at least a 10-year warranty, if he didn't then he's pennywise and pound foolish. To repair that head gasket at minimum $3,000. And starting it without sufficient coolant is just plain not good.

@@DJaquithFL you are Exactly correct. It is brand new so I am not sure why it is losing coolant. Thank you for adding your experience and for Joining us!

@@silverbankruptcy .. As I mentioned I'm pretty sure it's a head gasket if there's no pooling of coolant on the floor of the enclosure.

@@DJaquithFL I just don't put some services behind the transfer switch. But to each his own ofcourse.

I think you blew out your head gasket and you're probably burning coolant through your piston or pistons. I would hope that you have opted for a 10-year warranty and if so, I'd use it as soon as possible. I think the standard warranties limited to 3 years.
Anyway, interesting video. I'm looking to purchase a new replacement liquid cooled generator and I'm perusing TH-cam to see what people's opinions have been. This kind of concerns me because that's a serious problem with your or whoever's generator it is. Our Generac generator is 17 years old and the stator and voltage regulator aren't working as well as I'd like them to work. We live in Florida and in the Sarasota area and I I cannot understand why people don't have generators everywhere here, it makes no sense.

“I think this house actually has a transformer, like it goes from the high power lines to the transformer….”
Lmfao, welcome to every house in America 🤦‍♂️
Not coil on plug? It’s a constant duty low compression “industrial” engine application, not a road vehicle.
Tie wrap thing holding it on? It’s called safety wire, and the entire aviation / raceing / space industries use this in critical reliability installations. 🤦‍♂️
    Also, what is rhaadiator fluid/hose/fan?
The alternator isn’t “YUGE” btw, that’s the generator - it’s got a standard automotive alternator. Yeah 48kw is rather yuge for a truck engine alternator lol.
Couldn’t stand to finish the video, but wow - why post something you know absolutely nothing about. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I suppose for most it would sound legit, but… no.
