Your excitement and love of scindapsis is contagious! I have the "A" variety. It is really hard to describe the color of the white, silvery markings. They were almost a soft "sparkle" which is something that I did not notice from all of the pictures I've looked at.

I got an Argy two weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with it. Then I went and got another one a week later. :) I love love love them. I have four plants (and a bunch of houseleeks outside my window) and I love them equally, but the Argy has a special place in my heart. Such a magical plant! You really have to see and touch it to realize it.
I love scindapsus also! I don't have exotica yet, as it's been hard to find in my area. I had a Silvery Ann and Argyreaus in a very indirect light area and they seemed to lose their silver a bit. I moved them to brighter indirect light and have noticed more silver on the newest leaves! I have a few vines where the leaves are completely curled up and after sticking them in water to prop for several weeks, they are still curled! I'm stumped on that, but the rest of the plant is doing well. I'm jealous of all the many pots of them you have!!! I just love the deep green and silver of the leaves. I also just got a Treubii Dark Form earlier this week!
The Exotica is a harder one to fine but it's my favorite out of them all! I don't know what's the deal with the curling leaves 🤔 I would have thought putting them in water would help. I have so many because every time I see one I have to buy it lol! 🤣 Now I'm jealous of the Treubii dark form 😍 How did you find that!? 🌿

I have a quick couple of questions. 1st do you know how to bring a scindapsus back from cold damage? 2nd. If the plants have plenty of roots do they need leaves to continue to produce leaves? I rescued a scindapsus arygerous last week thinking it was really wet but by the next morning it was very clear that it was also exposed to cold air. I had hopes for the plant but 99% of the leaves turned almost black and shriveled like crazy. I reached out to Costa Farms but I guess they arent in the office on the weekends.
are any of the stems mushy and brown? If not you can still propagate it. You can chop it up around the nodes and put it in water or moss, I would say moss if no leaves are left. I do think stems can still produce new leaves, I have fully cut back plants before and they have came back. I do know it's hard coming back from cold damage but If you still have some green left then it's possible. I hope that helps some! 😁
@@PeanutsPlants thank you Sarah, last night I took all the plants and cut most of the leaves and their stems from the main vines with roots that are still viable. I also have a few very nice leaves so I cut them just below their nodes and I put them into moss. Im praying for the best. Luckily the roots are still in good shape from what I can tell but their soil was way to wet and very cold so time will tell I guess. Thank you so much for your quick response. I did do exactly what you suggested but its nice to know my gut steered me in the right direction. Blessings to you, I love your videos especially the scindapsus video.
I did the same thing with a string of hearts. It was a large planter from lowes I didnt have the 16.00 to spend for it at the time and kicked myself everyday since, especially after seeing the prices of them now for tiny pots. What is meant to be ours will come back around.
I want to have all the scindapsus varieties. I currently have a baby exotica and also a silvery Ann or which ever has some leaves that can be nearly all silver. I recently had to pot this up and now her new growth is yellow. Not old leaves at the base of the plant, the new leaves that are unfurling. I can’t seem to find any information about this. Similar things are happening to my neon pothos where the leaves are BLACK before they even unfurl all the way! 😫 neither are in direct light. The neon is still in its nursery pot, so I can’t attribute to something in my soil mix. If you have any advice or information I would greatly appreciate it. I do not wanna lose my scindapsus or have it keep doing this. Like you said, the leaves are the most striking feature of the plant but not when they have yellowing spots everywhere.
Do you have instagram? if you message me some pictures I could maybe could give some better suggestions. I noticed my silvery Ann didn't handle repotting and it starting getting yellowing leaves and some that are not unfurling. I'm not 100% sure what it is. Have you ever looked into blight? It's a fungus that causes browing and plant tissue death. It can easily spread to other plants. I have a friend who had it and he's made a couple youtube videos on it. Just look it up and see if you think that may be it. It could also be some other kind of pest. We can message some more on instagram if you have one, you can find me at peanutsplants. Hopefully that helps!
Peanut's Plants as soon as you mention blight my stomach turns! Ha ha I used to grow my own vegetables. Eeek. I definitely don’t think it’s that on the scindapsus but it’s good to know I’m not the only one dealing with it. She definitely needed the repotting though! When I bought her, she was in all peat-based soil and it was pretty wet. I’ve had her for almost 2 months (or maybe three, I don’t even know what day it is lately) I can’t imagine that she would just be showing the signs of overwatering. Plus, it’s all the new growth! 😟 yes yes thank you so much will def find you on Insta and take some pictures of her today.

For my Pothos I ended up taking it out of its pot to check the root system for bugs or if it was root rot, and it was beyond root bound! I don’t think I have ever seen a Pothos THIS root bound. I mean I know they like it but this was a bit much. Literally it was fine and beautiful one day but then blackening leaves on new growth the next day so do you think it is only because of that? I’ve never seen root bound plants react that badly and that quickly.

The exotica is the most forgiving.
How fast does the Exotica grow ?? The regular ones grow so slow. 🍃🌿🍃
I think the Exotica is a good grower, not as fast as a pothos but fast enough that I have chopped and shared it a few times. 😊🌿
