You woulda gotten less tired if you woulda put your left hand on the forward fore grip of the pole instead of using it like a bait caster. advice for next time...
Yeah cause some act like they can’t hear. I just try to be polite as possible or be cool if I have a big fish on and need them to adjust a bit; it’s usually no problem. But if you got an asshole, I just keep repeating myself higher and higher until they move lol
Nice 👍🏼 Been fishing the Southern Cal a few times and haven't caught a yellow yet. The crew on that boat are cool as hell. I'm obsessed about catching one myself, great vid and nice 🐟!
nice fish! Congrats on your first! I also caught my first yellow this year on the southern cal. Great boat and crew. All the yt seem to be gone now. Can't wait till next year.
expect rail-sleepers, extra-rods holders on the rail when you got hooked😱😥😅 and ITS A HALF DAY😂😂😂 BUT that dude's face on the right when you snuck in and Chucked your bait on his spot was like" dude, YOUR a squeezer!!!"lmfao🦄😱😂
@@PAPAPIG15 awesome 🤙🤙🤙🤙🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 I saved for a for years for mine, and its nice to have your own boat. Good luck and keep slamming them yellows thats my plan this summer and some Catalina trips too
Also, for those that have never charted before ...it's a good lesson in fishing etiquette, and how to avoid someone's line that has a live catch. 👍👍 (under/over/no rods leaning on the boat, etc., ❣️❣️😝✌️🕊

+Jiggy C. Yes that's how it works I'm not sure how much they charge there's plenty of different boats that charge different prices they take u out to where the fish are
PAPAPIG15 ya man I been missing the ocean I just funneling through all these post congrats on the tunas. Pandemic got all of us fishing junkies watching these. Stay safe and healthy
Even with the inauspicious start (sardine hanging by the nose for over 30 secs and the magnificent clicker when casting), I was amazed that you hooked up and landed the jackpot! Proves that it's better to be lucky than good.
Nice catch! Charter fishing can be a bitch sometimes... from the video these people seem to be very nice when he was saying excuse me, plus it helps when you have someone that works on the boat delegating the movement of the other fishers because most of the time, charter fishers don't even move or just make a face at you & are like I am not going to move for you!! I got this spot since the early crack of morning and are like (I OWN THIS SPOT) lol!... And then you get line tangled with 100 other different lines it sucks. As you can see they were dropping lines right next to him when he got his catch LMAO! Dam let the man get his catch a least..lol! The worst I seen was a fight on the boat just for this reason, this guy had caught a fish on his line and then was doing the same thing as this guy was doing cutting down the lane, then he cut down to the wrong fisher, this fisher was pissed off (Maybe he had got no catches) Or was a spot holder, He had said to him real the fish in your spot! Really??? They both started to argue about it then the help came from the boat crew when they both got loud. They had got into a pushing match over a fish and a spot. Lol this was off San Pedro deep sea fishing. No thank you I rather go with my brother in law in his boat or charter less people and pay the extra money that’s not in tight quarters and not go through all the drama…Haha
It's surprising how many right handed people use their right hand to grab the bait from the tank. Using the non-dominant hand to grab the bait and the dominant hand to hook the bait is the way I do it. IMO, a lot easier and more efficient that way!
Well I was holding the rod like it was a bass rod. The fish was kicking my a**. So I had to use my other hand to help pull . Towards the end of the video I figure it out. This is my first time using this rod and reel. It was actually the first cast iv ever done with it. I learned a lot with this first fish, I'll be ready for next one! Lol
@@Vi3tKid420 things have changed on that note in the past 18 years since I left LA. In the 90s I fished a lot and lots of trips out to the islands. Only came across 1 guy that got outta hand. Mike Inna i use 65 lb spectra with 40 lbs floro leader. you can def use lighter line. just make sure your drag is set right. im new to the saltwater game. been bass fishing my whole life. now im addicted to the ocean!
Danm that was just a 28 lb fish and it took a while to reel in imagine if it was a 60 lb or higher i cant wait until next week were i will be able to go fish on a boat.
That look dude gave you when you blasted a cast with the clicker on right next to his dome .
Nice fish I caught my first yellowtail about two weeks ago and was 22 lbs
Some powerful fish!!!
Nice video and fish on
LOL when you casted with the clicker everyone thought your were on then you were for real that's dope good job.
Dude that was amazing! My heart was pounding like I was there!!LOL. Great job, beautiful fish man.
Mike Inna thanks.
awesome motivational comment brother!
comparing to Australia, charter fishing in the US is so crowded!
Ian Zhu Ya we love are fishing out here in LA .
Not anymore. Every boat should be at 50% capacity now so it won’t be as crowded as back then. Hopefully it stays that way for a while.
Going next Wednesday! I hope to catch my first too I herd they are biting right now! Good catch man ! Amazing
this was 6 years ago btw

Awesome setup but that cast sounded funky to me. Man I’m hoping for a yellow this summer !
iv watched this video like 100 times its so sick!! only cause i have the same reel and i love seeing it in action!! great video!!!
thanks Zack. I plan to make some more videos like this this year!
+PAPAPIG15 what reel and rod combination are you using?
9' blue lightning seeker rod, shimano Trinidad tn16

Thanks Mathew. Yes it was a Blast catching this fish. I can't wait to get another.
Love the cast with clicker on - still got it way out and over a group of guys!

Nice Vid Jerry! Those yellows are mean!
Thanks rob! Yes they are. Powerful fish
beautiful fish bro. how many people were on the boat? I'm looking for a charter to go yellowtail fishing for the first time this summer sometime
Starts unknotting line... guy next to him hooks on a fish... unknotting intensifies
Ive been on that boat before! I’ve once caught a 8 pound white fin on that boat

Yes it's a good boat and crew- going again This Friday. Thanks
so how does this work? pretty much pay to get on the boat and theyll take u out to the ocean.. how mich does it cost to get on?

Congrats the questions is did you eat the heart it’s traditional and good luck on your first yellow catch
No i did not eat the heart. I did eat the heart on my first yellowfin .

Saltwater Amateur that's the secret to catching alot of fish. let bait dangle for 30-45 sec. and cast with clicker on. try it next time !
I concur with this comment above... Dangling bait.. Plus the clicker while casting and while getting hooked up... Outstanding!!
You are just jealous lmao

DUDE THAS WHY I BOUGHT MY OWN BOAT, I GOT A 22 BAY CHAMP CENTER CONSOLE. lOVE IT!
Especially when you fish to relax...
Every time I see drama deep sea fishing there are Bakersfield people involved lol
Why did someone cast while u was fighting that fish?
It's surprising how many right handed people use their right hand to grab the bait from the tank. Using the non-dominant hand to grab the bait and the dominant hand to hook the bait is the way I do it. IMO, a lot easier and more efficient that way!
I'm left handed.
and agree with you
Just curious as to why you were taking your hand off the handle and pulling with
your right hand instead of always pulling with your left hand.

Dam that charter boat is pack... I wouldn’t want to fish that close to that many people if I’m paying couple hundred for the trip
I strongly dislike when people are in la la land and do not know how to move out of the way when your trying to reel in a fish.
AdussFadass one thing i learned about other anglers, theyre either your best friend or worse enemy. Most are haters!
start cuttung lines. i have a big fish on and you wont move...snip...not losing my fish over stupidity

Wow I have to really hand it to u good job fighting that fishing. I couldn't have fish that crowded
Haha yeah there was around 30 people so it wasn't to bad. this boat gets up to 60 people most trips- I can't handle that
great job man!
Yellow tail ? Top Water? No Weight? I never knew that..... wow
Ok ,I just seen the tiny sliding weight that was on....... wow
I'm new to fishing.....is 25 or 30 lb enough for this kind of fishing?

Mike Inna it's all about your drag... I know someone who caught a 65lbs tuna on a 20 lbs line. You'll just have to play longer and lots of patience.
What size line where u using
Nate MR. Right 40 lb floro with 1/4 slider weight
2015 was a good year.

Did you eat the heart?
No I did not ... I wish I would have though
Bro thats a slug for your first my first yellowtail was a 4lb rat
Yeah it was an awesome fight. Def the biggest fish iv ever caught. I want to go get more!
Theres a crazy tuna bite right now
Yes there is. It's going to be a great year. Ill be in cabo next month. Hopefully I'll get some good footage and post another video.

The boat name is Southern cal
Did you eat the heart
