Best opening words: it has potential. And look what you made of it. I guess time will tell if the chosen metal finish will last. Hope so as I like it. Good video.
I think you did a really nice job. You didn't change the blade profile thank the gods and the handle is gorgeous. I wouldn't ha e mirror olished it but the bluing helped. Nice!
Great restoration job mate. I’m a polished blade man myself but I honestly really like the polished blue blade on yours. Loved the way the handle came out too. You put a huge amount of time and energy into that leaver and it shows in the final product. I subscribed some time ago, but if I hadn’t, I would be now. 👍🇦🇺
Great job on the restoration. I personally like the polished look better. Bluing, to me, always makes the metal look smudged, but the finished result is still heads and tails above what you had at the beginning. I just found your channel today and watched all of the vids you have......love them all, especially the carbide lamp. Who needs OSHA, when you're seven years old and working in a coal mine?
Hi really enjoyed the video I do like the blue finish you applied. Could you tell me the purpose of the middle hole in the handle which was partly drilled into the wooded handles.
Thanks, I really appreciate it!!! I was thinking that I would put a hidden pin in there but decided that it wasn’t necessary so I just filled it with epoxy...
I think it depends on the colors of materials for the handle. I think blued was a good choice to contrast the bright bronze pins, but I could also see it polished to contrast the darker tones of the handle... I think it's beautiful either way.
Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. I think you’re right about the contrast, it would have looked good polished, but I’m still pretty happy with it.
Looks awesome 👍 great job man
Thank you!!!
Well i love patina but that polished blue looks great.

Thanks, I really appreciate it! Yeah, I hope that finish holds up as well.
Loved the blacking over the polish. And I truly liked your pressure vessel for the wood preservative. Hope you’re doing well.
Thank you!
Beautiful job!
Thanks!

At about 8:00, what are the little rod things you used to keep the handle together???
There are just some keyway blocks that I had that fit.
Can you send the steps for doing this? Im gonna be helping a buddy with his foster cleaver
