- In this video we explore a simple but highly effective way of improvising in a major scale situation, using the chord tones of the scale. It's easy to follow, fun and extremely cool sounding. I hope you find it helpful!

Wow thank you Roger so much 😎😎🤝🤝🎷🎷
An excellent video Lynden. It's very inspiring making some nice sounds that don't need a virtuoso technique. Thanks
Thank you so much Robin 🎷🎷😎😎🤝🤝

Wonderful, I am a beginner from clarinet. You give me fun stuff to try without doing the boring stuff first. I'm buying you a coffee!

Thank you so much 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Danke!
Wow Roland thank you so much, I really appreciate it 😎😎🎷🎷🤝🤝
Dear Lynden, your examples and explanations are fantastic. Thank you very much for that, it really helps me as an advanced beginner, even at 67, to delve further into the world of music. It's so much fun to follow you again and again. When I watched your last video about really easy improvisation using Cmaj, I was wondering how to deal with chord changes in a piece. In SessionBand or, for me as an Android user, IdealPro, you just enter Cmaj and then play 7-5-3, for example, and keep doing that. So far, so clear! We're currently practicing with a few guitars and of course they keep changing chords in the piece. How do you deal with that, please? How can you continue to improvise or accompany here? Do I have to use their chords as a basis? Sorry for this probably very stupid question, I'm still struggling through the basics. Thank you very much for a quick tip or perhaps further explanations in a video. Many greetings from Germany and thanks again! Another coffee goes without saying. Roland
Wow Roland thank you so much for your support and your fantastic feedback, I really do appreciate it so much.
If you’re improvising over a chord chart you can take a similar approach by hitting the chord tones and scale of the chord that you’re in, which does take some practice. Have you seen my tutorial on Autumn Leaves? This goes through the type of strategy that I think you’re asking about. Does this help? Thank you again 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Wow - thanks for your fast answer and staying in touch, dear Lynden! Yes, this helps indeed, and I am going to study Autumn Leaves ASAP. Some practice ~ that's ok definitely ~ every challenge is highly appreciated 👏 . Have a great Sunday over there in England. Hearty greetings 🙏 Roland
Thank you so much Roland and have a great day 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Sounds real good.....Great tone.....What gear are you using ? Thanks in advance.
Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say! It’s a Selmer tenor and an Otto Link 7* mouthpiece with a Rigotti 2.5 reed. I’m recording on a Rode condenser mike and recording on Logic Pro with a tenor sax preset. 🎷🎷🤝🤝😎😎
Great stuff Lynden. Thank you.
My pleasure! 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
