General Question for Dale or anyone that that may know. I published my first book on amazon kdp and had absolutely no idea what I was doing, I used their ISBN number for it. Am I now stuck to kdp or can I still publish it elsewhere as well?
@beatrocker91, when you make it big, you'll probably wish you had taken the few minutes and small investment it takes to get your own ISBNs. Part of why they're offering to do it for you in the first place is because they know the power of sunk cost fallacy meeting pain of disconnect.
The one thing I DO like about KDP is how fast they are when getting out POD paperback books to their customers. I ordered a book on Monday. It was printed on Monday. I received it today. It's literally right off the press. Now that's freaking cool Dude!
Forgive my ignorance, I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago, but what's your main channel? I really like your advice and information, and I'd like to get as much as I can. :-)
Thank you for continuing to beat the drum of "WIDE IS VIABLE!" I cringe when people act like Kindle Unlimited is the only way to publish. No thanks. No interest in being exclusive to Amazon.
Hey, thanks. Unfortunately, I’ll be putting interviews on-hold after next week. I’ve gotta cut that task to make time for my book biz. When I return to it, I’ll try to keep that name in mind.
@selfpubwithdale Thanks Dale. Indeed, handle your business first 👍. You carry a lot of clout in Publishing, you're a great source of news and information for self-publishers/indies. I think a collaboration with you and Mark Williams would be solid for the community. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing. I've actually been very curious if the industry had adopted AI narration, and it's good to hear that they have embraced it. I've been very impressed with the voices on 11-labs for instance. You can't really even tell that they aren't human.
You'll get more pushback from within the author community than you will with readers. Just fully disclose the use of digital narration and you should be fine. Instances like Elevenlabs? Wow! They're really good. Them and Speechify seem to be killing it in the digital narration department.
Dale sits at the forefront of self-publishing. You can count on him for sound advice.
Thanks so much for the kind words and support, Scully!

You can publish your book elsewhere, but you can't use the ISBN anywhere else.
@selfpubwithdale Good to know thank you for the response

Absolutely! No argument here, especially if the quality is still good.

Great question: www.youtube.com/@dalelroberts. I need to update all my descriptions to include the link, so this was a great prompt!
@@selfpubwithdale Thank you so much! Can’t wait to check it out. Thank you for all your work. You make the job a little bit easier for us newbies.
So glad you're enjoying the content!

Yep, some authors are blindly loyal, despite getting pittance for it. For me? KDP Select just doesn't pay enough to keep me exclusive.
Thank you for sharing the video Dale that was very interesting and great information. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great info, thanks Dale
If possible, please do an interview with Mark Williams of The New Publishing Standard 🤠
