Dwight Yoakam is my favourite country singer-songwriter next to the late Johnny Cash. My first Dwight Live night Nov. 14/14 was documented in photos (posted on Twitter and Google+).

He made me think of Chris Isaak when he recorded Beyond the Sun in the old Sun Studio. They did not use anything digital, they recorded what they played in that room which has never been changed. Dwight is very interesting to listen to, very articulate, smart and cares about the history of music. He is an amazing singer and songwriter and hope we will hear him for many more years. I saw him in concert in my area in Sept. he was great, played for almost two hours after being late due to weather.
He knows a lot of history about country music! He'd have made a great teacher in the music field! Talented
Great take on the history of the studios that housed so much great music and talent. Not all innovations are good innovations, and he has as one of few a valid point since he has made music there then and now.
It would be so easy for someone like me not to appreciate the "where" part of these pieces and miss put on the history of a space like this. Thanks for this video, I enjoyed it as much as the music videos in there I think.

This is fascinating to listen to! Thanks for sharing! I think in times when everyone was not so distracted by all the "things" that consume our hours now, more producers were more focused on excellence in creating beautiful sounds versus the popular acceptance today of so much "music" which is ultimately mediocre noise. Thank heavens there are still those who can discern the difference! Dwight Yoakam's voice and music both sound excellent... with an ability to reach one's soul.
