Lot of the new King books don't do it for me, I really enjoyed Doctor Sleep though. I am currently reading Insomnia and loosing sleep... Great reviews 😁
The Outsider is one of my least favorite King books but putting that aside, I'm still excited for Holly, I don't love the character but I don't hate her like some fans. I would like to see King get away from the mystery genre and do a least one more straight up horror book like Pet Sematary.
I just finished the Outsider last week, an excellent book until the final showdown. It just ends suddenly and without much satisfaction. The final summary chapter is good in seeing how it affected all the characters but I expected a more interesting end for the antagonist
Are you going to read Harlan Coben now? One goodreads review said King was trying to be like Coben but couldn't do it, so came up with a supernatural explanation.
Haven't read the book yet but I saw the HBO series. Loved most of it but thought the ending was a little cheap. Hope the book is different enough to surprise me.

With the intense build-up in the first part of the story. leading To the reveal of what was really happening was let down by an implausible second half,
The Outsider was an easy 10/10 for me for the first 80% of it. But King didn't even come close to sticking the landing, unfortunately. All in all I'd probably give it like a 8.9/10. Still loved it. And tbh I love the mystery/crime direction SK has been going on lately
The tv show ending was meh. I'm hoping the book ending is better. I guess Holly doesn't get a boyfriend in the book, and Claude doesn't have a brother. I'm at the Marysville Hole. Dennis Lehane was involved in the show.
I bought this book after watching the first two episodes of the HBO series. I really liked those two episodes but the series went downhill for me after that. Because of that, I've never read the book. Hopefully the book is much better than the series.
In his newest book Holly, he has a character cheer when trump lost and cry with joy when Biden won. I don’t like politics in my books. It’s being sent back for refund. Yuck.
