I made the same type of wand since the built in flush system in my RV did such a poor job. Although I put a short "L" on the end that goes into the tank so I can direct the full force of the water jet into every corner. Also the diameter of bowl will allow you to slightly tilt the wand so the water jet will hit the top of the tank. Rotate the wand to hit all sides. You'd be suprised at how well this works. Takes only a couple of minutes and the tank is done. Not a single odor is left behind.
Nice job but I only drilled two holes, each 3/16" and one pointing upward slightly and the other point straight out. With the two small holes the pressure is fantastic and makes cleaning easy.
Hey, just made one in a few minutes after a trip to the hardware store. Doing a lot to keep my black water holding tank sensors working, not there not all going out when empty but half of them. Thanks JOhn Australia 2016 Jayco TRavel Trailer
When connecting the long piece to the elbow it would have been a good idea to clean all the burrs on the long section of pipe (2:17) to prevent loose bits of pvc entering the tank or block up the holes in the end of the nozzle
Did the same thing about 5 years ago made one for the Toilet (much shorter than what he made) and a long straight one for my gray tank. the Toilet one is pretty straight forward . but the Long gray tank one I would put in the tank through the gate valve or gray water dump valve and turn it on and slowly run it back and forth in the tank . you won't Believe the Crap that comes floating out of your Gray Tank. it does help with gray tank smell by doing this Old Food , Tooth Paste Hair , Soap Scum Etc are mostly removed from the Tank
If you were to put just 2 holes in at one side of the cap and orientate the holes opposite the bend in the pipe you have a way to direct your cleaning efforts towards a particular part of the tank. Most likely you will be able to reach the further side of the tank a lot better...
if your cutting your pipe with a hack saw make sure you scrape off the burs it mihht naot make a difference in this application but it is good practice
In addition to cleaning off the burrs, you should also take some type of sandpaper and ruff up the edges on the PVC pipe so that the glue will bond better and it will not come apart. Some PVC pipe is smooth on the outside and the glue doesn't always adhere good.I've made a similar device, my own design. Works very well to get the nooks and crannies in the black tank. It also helps to fill the black tank up after flushing one more time. You will see even more junk coming out. Also, remember to close your dump valves and reset your black tank for your next trip, water and chemicals. You should never leave a Black Tank or really any of your tanks dry. Bacteria will grow and you will get smells in your unit, if it is sitting for awhile.Just my 3 cents worth.
You might check your local codes--I believe a backflow prevention device is required by plumbing code. Even if it isn't, it's still a good idea anywhere contamination is a possibility.
What about a quick disconnect on the side of the rv, through the wall and into the bathroom (over the tub or shower for spillage) for a short hose to the wand? I haven't gotten the nerve together to take a hose through the door, then all the way to the toilet. Thank you

Seeing is believing.
Great to view the operating waterwond

Thanks a lot for this video! I just built two of them, one for me and a buddy. Just over $8 in all parts to build 2 from Lowes's
I can't believe you didn't turn the water on to show how the jets functioned?
I "had" a cousin in Aleebamee who had an idea to use a stick of dynamite. Tossed it down the hole.... no more black water tank problems at all.

born2flyau I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to see that. I wanted to stop watching at that point, but I wanted to see what he used for a nozzle.
Doesn't really matter this will never HOLD pressure like a house hold PVC system.

I might try this but use my oscillating tool to alternate a vertical and horizontal stream (hopefully).

It takes a village ... Thanks for your comment!
Very good idea and video ..explanation was good ! Thx for sharing!

looks adequate for those with straight black pipes.
Beautiful! Going to Home Depot now....
Fascinating! Thanks!

Until you get put a plumbers camera scope in the tank you don't know where the stuck poo is and see how clean the sensors are.
Harbor freifht lighted snake camera. So many uses

Pansy ass
When dumping at public facilities they have hoses ready for use. Dump the tank then rinse with their already prepared plumbing system.
Not many around here do that, particularly at state parks. I've seen what you're talking about, but there aren't really that many around here.
good video
I just feel a 5 gallon pail and dump it down a few few times
I would think that besides the black tank, there should be a way to rinse the gray tanks to get the soap scum out. But, i digress.

You may be about to put a garden hose adapter on your sink faucet and then use a short garden hose to flush with.
I did this with mine.
Won't work on all RVs. My toilet doesn't dump straight down. Flexible pipe would work better.
I made a spray head on the end of a length of hose instead of pvc because mine isn't a straight drain. Worked out great.
Make an elbow at the bottom and drill holes at the end of a cap. Turn your pressure uo
@@FunkyFlorence do you have a picture of what you built? I’m needing one with a flex hose myself
That is very dangerous to hold the piece while you drill. Just saying 😂 lol
It's safe. I just have a couple beers first, gets rid of the shakes. lol
If you cant handle a drill safely to make a couppe simple holes either you should not be DIY or I say natural selection
