Been in the hobby for many years. This video is excellent advice for everyone new to the hobby, and even those of us who have a few years under our belt.
I have 3 tanks at the moment but I've had 6 in total so far(traded them and settled for 3 now) so what you said about wanting more tanks is so true😂6 different tanks within 1.5 years so the hobby became a passion haha This video had awesome tips and would be so helpful for someone who is just starting out..🙌 Nice video Zenzo😊🐟
That last tip was AMAZING. Right on point my man! My wife doesn't mind the hobby but, it's mostly my thing. If I do any aquarium work when she's around/home, something always comes up that ends up rushing me when I'm in the middle of it. Haha. Best to do it on your own time.
I’ve been in the hobby off and on my whole middle age life and always scouting for videos to share for recruiting or just being a fan. The end cracked me up so. Hard! 🤣 Was great meeting you at Dallas Aquashella
Loved the video, wonderful advice! 100% agree about not doing maintenance with the significant other around, my ex hated any type of mess at all and never once saw me do a water change because of it. Luckily I can do them whenever I want now!
My husband follows me into the room to watch me change water!! Im always paranoid ill spill or something and hell be like “thats it! No more aquariums!” Lol He wants alllllllll my Corys, Bristlenose plecos, clown killis ect… to all live outside in my pond.. with my goldfish…. IN NEW ENGLAND LOL Must tread lightly and spill no more 😂
A water change system I would say is a must have if you want or have multiple tanks. I have 6 from 10s to 55s and still do the 5 gallon bucket method unfortunately. Waiting for Christmas to get a syphon kit. If you do use buckets I say get a handful of them. I use 5 buckets and it definitely helps speed the process up.
I’ve recently got a 55 gallon tank I’d like some mbuna preferably small and less aggressive. What wouid you recommend and numbers. I’d like some yellow labs
Hey Tazawa Tanks, I have an old 125 gallon tank and a 75 gallon tank in my terrace, I have 2 oscars (5-6 inches) and 1 common pleco in the 125 gallon tank, in the 75 gallon tank I have 20 rosy barbs, 7 blue polars and around 20 penny sized apple snails, bright sun usually shines on the aquariums for 9 hours a day, how do I deal with algae?, I do 75% waterchanges every week but the next day the algae is back!, I have been keeping fish for more than 5 years now and this has been an on and off problem for a long time.
The easiest would be to cover the aquariums for a few days so the algae has no light and dies. You will need to move your tanks from your terrace and reduce the time they have lights/sunshine otherwise you will continue to have the algae problem.
Ironic. I just decided a week ago I wanted to start getting into aquariums, decided to get a salt water as I want to own clownfish. I bought a 70 cm wide 60 cm high with 230 liter), I'm from Europe, I googled 230 liter should be like 60 gallons? I think this size is ok, I don't have space to have a bigger tank anyway.
