      That’s why you should always blow them out from the inside. If you vacuum on the outside and it’s clogged close to the air handler you don’t break loose the clog.

    I am truly appreciative of your channel. You have answered several questions and inspired me to work on my own system. So far I have cleaned the condenser coil, replaced the line insulation, checked the capacitor, replaced the connector, switched to a lower MERV 5 Filter, replaced the thermostat with a Honeywell unit and am going to clean the air handler, evaporator, furnace and ductwork. After that I am going to insulate the metal ductwork with a R-8 bubble foil. Thank you!

    Curtis, you are a saint. If the property is a rental then the landlord is to blame for the poor condition of the system. If the home is owned, then the homeowner likely doesn’t have the resources to maintain the system. In either case, your willingness to tackle these nightmare situations goes above and beyond what most techs would do. Good job.

  • @danobrien3109
    @danobrien3109 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Oh Curtis I could feel your finger tips burning . That unit has definitely seen better days. Between what you blew out of the condensate, pulled off the evaporator and the lack of a filter and that’s just the indoor section. The non condensibles in that system are what is leading to those type of head pressures. 👍👍🇨🇦

    Did some jackalope charge it with the wrong refrigerant, creating a mix? Maybe attached a car recharge kit to it? With the mats of who-knows-what you pulled out of the air handler, is it possible the blower wheel just needs a good cleaning? In any event, yuck.

    • @scotts4125
      @scotts4125 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm on the Makita platform but really wanted the Milwaukee vac. I have the Makita battery to Milwaukee tool adapter. The vac would work but I had to disconnect the battery and reinstall for it to restart. I thought it was a bad vac so exchanged it and the second did the same. I ended up buying the same Makita Curtis has. I am happy with it's performance. Kind of funny but my condensate was plugged a couple months ago and I didn't want all that nasty kaka in the Makita so I dragged my corded Rigid out there. Still had to shoot Co2 to finally clear it. Monthly I change my filter and add the same tabs Curtis uses and it still clogged. I even pour condensate liquid cleaner every month down the pipe.
