    Curtis, we love watching your videos each day, but I don't understand why you don't do certain things or other methods you have shown before. You didn't use your Trublue two hose kit to pull a vacuum and we know those are faster and better. You pulled a vacuum through the manifold instead of a micron gauge for better speed and accuracy. You did not use your temperature lineset probes to have the manifold calculate Superheat and Subcooling, so how did you figure or measure your charge as we didn't see you put a bottle of 410A on a scale but just the end of the video showing suction and liquid line pressures. Also, the coil you swapped was kind of cased but not the same model you pulled out which I believe was an uncased N coil. I am just thrown off or the maybe it was edited out. You didn't find out how or why the coil was so incredibly dirty and rectify the situation so that doesn't again in the future. That coil was gnarly and will happen again unless you put a better filtration system for them. I am an HVAC business owner and technician, so there are so many things that should have been done and normally you would have done from other videos. As I said, we love watching your videos each day.

      Okay, I used my gauges because getting a core removal tool on those valves is nearly impossible. I didn’t need to add any more refrigerant. This place doesn’t have ventilation for a restaurant, but they are making baked goods, thus all the flour, which I brought up to owners. I can’t put it all in the video.

      Oh and the the new aluminum coils come with metal in front of the turn around tubes to prevent old oxidation from getting on the tubes, which they have determined to be a a cause of leaks.

      @@kens.3729 This is what I do for a living. I own an HVAC company and a technician. I would never have skipped all the steps I mentioned. I asked why because they are all necessary steps to follow to correctly finish the job. Of course every situation is different. But how could he possibly know the refrigerant wasn’t needed to be added or removed without figuring SH or SC? Just because he recovered a certain amount doesn’t make it right bases on measured pressures? The ventilation issue alone will void the warranty.

    How much do you charge for coil replacements? I see you repair so many older systems. The company I work for charges so damn much people usually just opt to replace it. I figure you must be giving a super fair deal.

    • @Balticblue93
      @Balticblue93 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coil change-outs really depend on age of the unit, which refrigerant the system uses, obviously the cost of the replacement coil and how much brazing needs to be done. An R22 system are rarely fixed these days because the cost of refrigerant and the poor quality of drop-ins. You can easily expect to pay $1500-$1800 for a 410A system to replace the coil. It can be quite a bit of work.

    Hey Curtis, nice brazing job! Have you ever considered using Stay Brite 8? No nitrogen flow needed.

    • @Balticblue93
      @Balticblue93 ปีที่แล้ว

      No real HVAC technician would ever use Stay Brite 8 on a 410A system as it is low temperature solder and not made for brazing because of the high pressures. We flow nitrogen so there is no oxidation and braze ACR copper because that is the proper way in HVAC/R. Stay Brite 8 is mostly for plumbing and low-pressure systems.

    • @danwittels5542
      @danwittels5542 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Balticblue93well I guess I've been faking it all these years. Stay Brite 8 works fine for 410a and is stronger than brazing.

    • @Balticblue93
      @Balticblue93 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danwittels5542 LMAO!! Only a fool would believe Stay Brite 8 is even remotely as strong as Sil-Fos 15. Stay-Brite isn't even meeting code requirements. It is made for a low-pressure system like water copper and not ACR. Stronger than brazing? HAHA.. that makes me laugh out loud. You literally have no idea what you are talking about. I wonder why code requirements do not allow it. Why doesn't ever HVAC installer use it? Weird don't you think? Thank God you aren't working on systems around here. Best of luck with those lawsuits or code inspectors making you do it over again until they sign off.

    How old is the system?
    You can tell the owner you have to do the same, X amount of years.
    OR, relocate the return air grill just out side the kitchen.
    Either they are using a cheapest filter they can find. Or seeing the filter looking clogged. They are taking it out and running it with out one.
    Or, depending on how long the owner has been there. It could have been from a different type of restaurant. Maybe a pizza restaurant????
