It is also the government upholding the institution in the OP world and our own. In OP the government literally comes to the slaveholders rescue when they get punched. Mainstream media in the real world is more complicated than in OP. Usually the media and government is in collusion. They are also in collusion in one piece. They use the news to justify their wars.
