Appeal for Jordan Chiles to keep bronze medal denied, USA Gymnastics says

- After an arbitration court stripped Chiles of her medal, U.S. officials submitted new evidence, they said. But the court would not hear their appeal, saying their rules do not allow their decision to be revisited "even when conclusive new evidence is presented."

So, they made the mistake with scoring, and in actuality she did have the third highest score. Then the arbitration court got the time of the review request wrong (and there is irrefutable, time stamped evidence to prove it). However, none of that matters, because they already made their decision without all the facts, and even though neither athlete made a mistake or did anything wrong, they are the ones who get punished. Not the judges who initially scored Jordan incorrectly, didn't provide the correct time of the review request, and did not announce that Chiles score was being reviewed, so that Ana had not run onto the floor with her flag, believing she had won bronze. Every step taken is the fault of the judges....but rather than fixing it by giving both athletes a bronze, they are going to do the worst thing they can do, and punish the athlete. This is disgusting. And it makes absolutely NO sense!
@@kdaze10 The ruling was not that Jordan was scored incorrectly. The ruling was that the request was not submitted in time. I’ve watched her routine frame by frame for countless hours - she underperformed in the individual floor final. She accepted the 5.800 initial difficulty score twice before when she had *better* execution, yet her camp tried to claim the floor was worth 5.900. They almost pulled a fast one on the judges, but did not succeed.
Said as a Jordan Chiles fan who wants to see her medal in 28 without controversy.
Stupid judges and IOC. Totally unfair. Enough is enough. Give both the medals.... Is that so difficult ? Burocrats' stupidity
This ruling is all about negating a first in history: Three Black women on the podium. It's an all-black podium. They had to break that up.

Did you see how Chiles was celebrating , screaming , yelling, jumping in front of her opponent who thought she got the bronze and was devastated? It was very disrespectful.

Jordan Chiles won the bronze medal & it should not be stripped from her!!! If there was a problem with the time of the inquiry, why did the judges accept it in the first place???? Why won't they settle it & just give both gymnasts a bronze medal? They have done it so many times before. What's different now? Something is not right here!
many things are not right here... the gymnast who was initially on 4th place, did an inquiry for a deduction she did not deserve, and there are many videos showing that she never stepped out of bounds... however, the judges didn't accept it, why?? but they did accept Jordan's inquiry... many wrong decisions from the judges
I wanted to prove that Chiles won and I spent a few days at it - in the end all I convinced myself of was Jordan did not bring her best routine to the floor that day.

@@lucyculinescu8848 It is inconclusive from video whether Sabrina stepped out of bounds or not. Video makes it look like she probably didn't, but you also can't tell if her toe touches the carpet out of bounds or not. We'll probably never know, but it could have been an error. However, there is a process for inquiring about out of bounds penalties, and Sabrina's coach did not make use of it (the coach inquired about Sabrina's difficulty score, but that is a different process and a different part of the score). So while it may have been an error, Sabrina's coaches are also at fault for not challenging it.
@@Logan0x05 On two tumbling passes, she was a little lower with a little worse landings than usual, which is too bad. But her dance elements (leaps and turns) were actually better than usual, her artistry and choreography were as fab as always, and her clean beautiful form for her tumbling in the air was also as good as always. Her score after the inquiry accurately reflected all of these things. It was a few tenths lower in execution than usual because of the issues with the tumbling landings, but also her difficulty was a little higher than usual because of getting an additional dance element counted. It's a shame she didn't do her best though, it would have scored well enough for there to be no controversy around her bronze at all.

What’s happing to her is what is happening to Jordan which is why she said she doesn’t want it! It’s all the judges fault and stop bashing the athletes! This was out of the control of Jordan and Ana .

People said she didn’t but I watched live and the highlights she stepped out. So that’s why her inquiry was denied because out of bounds falls under execution that’s why they couldn’t changer her score, they can only change difficulty that why Jordan’s was approve, accepted and changed. Thats why I feel so bad for Ana the lack of attention from the judge’s!

I knew USA appeal it would be rejected, there are certain laws that must be respected, I don't know what the video contained, but if it wasn't important it was rejected...give 3 bronze medals ...don't you understand that that medal is not hers? and karma does everything possible to return to the rightful owner what belongs to her

Jordan Chiles was in the 5th position after the first mark on the floor, after the coach filed an appeal outside the time/rules, which means that his mark was irregularly increased, the court of sports arbitration decided that he did not deserve the bronze medal.. .the referees did an injustice by raising his grade so he annulled their decision ..all the best ..the TAS court rejected the new videos as inconclusive

@@Vant-de-iarna she very much did deserve that medal score revisions are very common I was a gymnast I know the video was literally what we watch like the inquiry was very immediate. The issue is they don’t use videos to justify( easy tampering)but they use it for track to see who crossed the line first with their torso! She got there in 47 seconds they have 60 seconds Jordan child was last so it was hard they claimed she was 4 seconds late! The video was time stamped I went back and watched it 3 times they are BS! I can share the article with you ! And the reason she went to 3rd for 5th is because the Romanian girl tied! Which was broken but difficulty score I believe or execution (I forget) but one of those. To strip someone from a medal is VERY rare if not cheating or illegal substance. But she had neither which has never been done, she is the first. I can go on but yeah.
I love Jordan. But Sabrina win this medal. Even if Ana gets it. So at the end of the day why keep a. Medal that you didn’t get? She needs to give it to the 🇷🇴
She has video evidence her inquiry was submitted within the time limit. So she won fair and square. U don’t make sense.

The only reason why she got it is because the judges wrongly took points from Sabrina and there is evidence that she never stepped out of that mat. Even after Jordan scored was she still would looks it wasn’t for judges mistakes taking points from Sabrina.

They need to do a double bronze as it was the judges fault. They caved to the Romanian government and have no problem cheating a black woman.
Why does her race figure into this? You could say they cheated the who’re woman in the first place.
I had some sympathy til the race card got played by her family and people like you. When the top finishers are black, I don't see how race is the issue. I guess playing the race victim card will keep working til people get tired of it, which is already starting to happen. Which I am sure is partly why she lost the appeal. Besides it was even said that Jordan's performance wasn't even that great. If she does not give back the medal, I hope she is banned from future olympics.

They rewind cameras and review they scored her leap a C value and not D value which pushed her difficulty score up. The Romanian girl put in an inquiry too but I was denied (Sabrina) and Ana’s coach challenged Jordan’s inquiry. It was a mess!
The issue was not the score it was the time frame of the INQUIRY !!! she got there in 47 seconds you have a minute , Jordan was last the lady was almost immediately there if. You seen it live she made it. It’s on camera TIME STAMPED! but they claim she was 4 seconds late (lies). And the video evidence as denied for court. This was a flaw on the judge panel which they don’t want to look bias.
I would reads the article because her score is still high. But bother girls did amazing !!! I was proud of all of them ! But the they scored Jordan’s skill the right value the. This would have all been avoided and she would have placed 3rd 🥉 but she’s #1 in my eyes!
