Given it's his solo I think he has the creative licence to play it however he feels. The main thing I missed from Stone Sour after Jim left was how he'd change up live versions of songs so they sounded just that little bit different.

There aren't enough shredders paying homage to Jeff Waters of Annihilator. I would love to hear a cover of The Trend, Jeff himself has said it's one of the hardest songs he's written and has multiple guitar solos as well as some seriously badass riffs. There's even a video of him playing it solo with multiple camera angles.
