You mentioned how good the animations and such for Sonic is. The pre-rendered animations are by Marza Animation Planet, if I'm not mistaken, a studio Sega regularly contracts for Sonic games. If you want to see more of their work they also do the opening for Sonic Unleashed as well as the promotional video Night of the Werehog and their work is just excellent with some Pixar level animation.
Marza Animation Planet was also formed within SEGA. But they do other non-SEGA projects, such as one Resident Evil movie, Paper Mario and the Origami King, Mario Kart 8, Splatoon 1 and 2, etc.

The yellow Sonic is Super Sonic! In Sonic 2 or Sonic 3/Knuckles, if you collect all seven Chaos Emeralds and press jump while in the air with at least 50 rings (just jump in S2), you will transform into Super Sonic. He is invulnerable and much faster, but rings drain over time while in that state. In the Sonic Adventure era, it was tradition for the final boss of the story to be fought as Super Sonic, usually with the game's main theme as BGM, or a custom song. This is part of what makes Live and Learn from Sonic Adventure 2 so iconic, and that's *definitely* a song you should check out. We haven't had Super Sonic story climaxes in a while, so this game having *four* Super Sonic boss fights has been a *treat* for us. One of the funniest things about watching your reactions--which have been great!--has been the fact that you were completely unaware that Sonic games put out bangers, consistently. It makes sense since Sonic has not been on your radar since he was pixel art, it's just kind of funny to see; not in a derogatory way. You might as well finish up Frontiers before branching out, but once you do, I think heading back to 2001 for Live and Learn is a *must* listen. Jun Senoue of Sonic Team is on guitars, and Johnny Gioeli of Hardline and Axel Rudi Pell is on vocals. It is hands down the most iconic, quintessential Sonic song of all time. Yesman10 made another great lyric video for that one.

This isn't a boss song, but it is actually the main credits theme. There's also an additional credits song you get for beating it on hard mode called "One Way Dream" by NateWantsToBattle. Another song is the main game theme/final boss theme called "I'm Here".
I said this in another comment but if you want to look at more sonic music then check out Crush 40. Johnny Gioeli, who is also the singer of the band Hardline, sung for Crush 40, which is a rock band that did actual music for previous sonic games. I recommend looking at “Live and Learn” first.
this is actually the censored version of the song for Sonic Frontiers, in the actual song, "fight the pain away, my head is in ruins" is actually "fuck the pain away, my bed is in ruins" and "oh... you're frickin' crazy" is actually "oh... you're fucking crazy."
When Sonic turns yellow. It's called Super Sonic. Its not from just this game he's had it since the early games dating back to Sonic the hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis he's done it many times through the years as unlockable or a final boss battle. It only happens when he collects the 7 chaos emeralds and usually over 50 rings, also makes you invincible. In this game he collects them over 4 times to beat the island Titan. Thus the kick ass music. It's a homage to Super Saiyan.
It might not be the usual metal stuff you do but you should check out Cyberspace DJ Mix or One Way Dream, this entire soundtrack is so varied with everything from Rock to EDM to Orchestral to Pop.
8:17 I don't know if you've seen Goku from dragon ball z, but it's like when Goku transforms into a super Saiyan. Sonic has had this since I believe the very second game.
I think this was the only licensed song on the ost, but the composer was a big fan of One OK and wanted them because they fit the vibe of the soundtrack
Poor Newova. He was describing Sonic 06 at the beginning 😂 this is Frontiers, but you’ll get used to it if you continue doing sonic music. This stuff slaps. Love to see this music getting the attention it deserves
Loved your reaction to the song. I like your comments about different parts of the song that I did not notice and your enthusiasm is so great. Wish you would react to other songs in the album because I think this is their best album.
Ok, might as well give you the short version. "Yellow Sonic" is "Super Sonic" It was introduced in the second ever sonic game as a blatant Dragon Ball reference/ripoff/whocaresbecauseitscool thing where sonic becomes invincible and gains speed incredibly quickly. He can also fly. They balance it by having the way you get it be difficult. (Getting all 7 chaos emeralds) In this game, instead of being an optional powerup that unlocks the true final boss or is only used for the final boss it's used for every single island boss fight. There are 4 of these and is where most of the songs you heard are played. It's why the songs go so hard, because they are trying to make you feel much more powerful than usual. Hopefully this is understandable enough while answering any questions you have while not being too confusing.
Yellow sonic is super sonic, the form of sonic after he’s harnessed “the ultimate power” called the 7 chaos emeralds. He becomes invincible and super strong for a short burst of time until he runs out of energy. It’s usually reserved for the final boss of each game but frontiers decided “what if he had it for every boss” which is why the boss themes all sound like they could be a final boss. Also you should listen to “I’m here” which is the 4th boss theme
Yellow Sonic is Super Sonic! Think of it as a hedgehog version of Super Saiyan. He transforms into that form using the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds. Six of the Emeralds were around from the first game, and Sonic 2 introduced the 7th Emerald, and with it, Super Sonic. The trope in Sonic games is that the final boss is usually a Super Sonic fight, although Frontiers has Sonic go Super for every major boss battle, and really emphasizes the transformation, which is nice since Super Sonic hasn’t really been important in the past decade.
Fun fact: None of the cgi portions you see in the video were featured in the game, they were purely made for promotional purposes. All cutscenes in the game use in-game graphics since the game has a time-of-day system.
Super Sonic my friend xD that's why he's yellow, at the end of every sonic game there's usually a Super Sonic fight, but this game just uses Super Sonic a lot more xD
WAAAH loved to see you react to Vandalizeee~ hoping you would too to their other songs~ To their new release album "Luxury Disease" and their other album and songsss pleasee yiiieh~
I’m sure someone already told you but sonic goes super (yellow) when he gets these gems called the chaos emeralds which are a huge part of the series. If you know goku from dragon ball and how he goes super it’s basically the same idea. Super sonic has been around since 1992
Super Sonic has existed since the first ever game release 1991, you collected the 7 Chaos Emeralds and sonic becomes Super Sonic which is a super powerful form, basically Dragon Ball's Super Saiyan form
If you haven't listened to any of Crush 40's music for Sonic games, I'd *really* recommend that you listen to something like "knight of the wind," and "will to fight the knight" from Sonic and the black knight, or "I am all of me" from Shadow the Hedgehog. Those are just a few of their songs, and I think all of em' are amazing.
yellow sonic is super sonic. once sonic has all the chaos emeralds, he can use them to transform to become heckin jesus xD It;s been a thing since Sonic 2 or Sonic and Knuckles or somethign like that
"Yellow Sonic" is Super Sonic. If he collects the 7 Chaos Emeralds he gains invincibility, super strength, flight, and even more speed. (It's the same thing as going Super Sayian in DBZ) It's been a significant part of the series since Sonic 2 in 1992.
Hey, I'm new to this whole song review channel and all so I don't know if he already reviewed the song but I absolutely love it and if you did if someone could point me to the video and if he didn't could you make the video please because this is one of my favorite songs from a video game ever it's from a video game called Control and the song is called Take Control by the old gods of Asgard.
Super sonic came out in 1992 Sonic the hedgehog 2 when he collects all 7 of the chaos emeralds. Super sonic has been a staple of sonics abilities when he obtains all emeralds.
@Message-.Nowova01 I’m really surprised at the amount of information you can tell about the music and just the vocals. I love listening to the instrumentals and also the vocals since I’ve played an instrument and have had to learn these basics.
I've 100% completed this game and I will tell you what order each Titan goes in: - Undefeatable (Gigantos) - Break Through it All (Wyvern) - Find Your Flame (Knight) - I'm Here (Supreme) - Vandalize (Regular Credits)

To be fair expecting screams from one ok rock was something we expected from them in the past when they werent popular outside japan. They kinda went more pop but early stuff had screaming and imo were better songs too.
When they covered Somewhere I Belong at the Hollywood Bowl Memorial Show for Chester Bennington, vocals were on POINT. I would’ve LOVED if Mike kept collating with them.
Sure they haven't done that in awhile but in 2017 they did release a single that had screaming and growls on it called Skyfall. It features MAH from SiM, Koie from Crossfaith, and Masato from Coldrain. Unfortunately, it's a Japan exclusive.
@@Wolfyyy "Being pop" and "going more pop" are two different things, to be fair. Bring Me The Horizon is definitely not pop, even Amo (Their "pop" album) was still very alternative, but it's still "more pop" than other albums.
You don't know about Super Sonic?? It's a form he takes using the power of all the chaos emeralds. It's been around since way back, so I'm surprised you haven't seen it before.
They make CGI for trailers almost every game and almost every game doesn’t have them in it Ingame cutscenes are also easier to animate and let your costumes be seen in most cases
So there’s more reason for frontiers to be this way than say sonic forces or sonic generations Actually scratch forces, I forgot about the custom character lmao
"Yellow Sonic" is Super Sonic. It's not a new thing, and I have NO idea how you haven't seen Super Sonic before, because it's existed since Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in 1992. Let me guess, you don't know what the Chaos Emeralds are either, do you?

Yellow Sonic/Shadow is when they get the chaos emeralds. The power turns them into Super Sonic or Super Shadow.
WAAAH loved to see you react to Vandalizeee~ hoping you would too to their other songs~ To their new release album "Luxury Disease" and their other album and songsss pleasee yiiieh~
Quick note: through sonic frontiers sonic has that level of detail on him in the in game cutscenes!
The yellow sonic is super sonic first seen in sonic the hegdhog 2
There's also a song from frontiers named "one way dream"
If you haven't listened to any of Crush 40's music for Sonic games, I'd *really* recommend that you listen to something like "knight of the wind," and "will to fight the knight" from Sonic and the black knight, or "I am all of me" from Shadow the Hedgehog. Those are just a few of their songs, and I think all of em' are amazing.
yellow sonic is super sonic. once sonic has all the chaos emeralds, he can use them to transform to become heckin jesus xD It;s been a thing since Sonic 2 or Sonic and Knuckles or somethign like that
Him: "This isnt one from one ok rock"
Music videos title: ...
Please listen to the main theme called “I’m Here”
Reaction the song Taking off of One Ok Rock
"Yellow Sonic" is Super Sonic. If he collects the 7 Chaos Emeralds he gains invincibility, super strength, flight, and even more speed. (It's the same thing as going Super Sayian in DBZ)
It's been a significant part of the series since Sonic 2 in 1992.
Gotta do "I'm here"
Hey, I'm new to this whole song review channel and all so I don't know if he already reviewed the song but I absolutely love it and if you did if someone could point me to the video and if he didn't could you make the video please because this is one of my favorite songs from a video game ever it's from a video game called Control and the song is called Take Control by the old gods of Asgard.
i hope he doesn't forget to do "im here" and "one way dream"
You gotta check "One way dream" is also very good, it was sang by NateWantsToBattle
Bruh, yellow sonic is super sonic. Hes been around sinse sonic 2...in 1992
Super sonic came out in 1992 Sonic the hedgehog 2 when he collects all 7 of the chaos emeralds.
@Message-.Nowova01 So I’m new to claiming prizes. Let me know how it’s done so I can be on track and can claim the prizes.
the game awards stole the sound/music category from sonic not even fucking nominated
He should absolutely listen to Bury The Light from Devil May Cry 5.
I've 100% completed this game and I will tell you what order each Titan goes in:
- Undefeatable (Gigantos)
- Break Through it All (Wyvern)
- Find Your Flame (Knight)
- I'm Here (Supreme)
- Vandalize (Regular Credits)
The reason sonic was yellow was because its a ability he has, It's called Super Sonic. It's when he use Chaos Emeralds to allow him to do that
7:32 this is exactly what happened
When Sonic uses all 7 mystical gems called The Chaos Emeralds he turns into Super Sonic. Super Sonic was debuted in Sonic 2 on the Genesis. You can only get that Transformation when u get all 7 Chaos Emeralds by doing Special Stages. All Super Sonic Transformations: th-cam.com/video/mWEXweRb5k0/w-d-xo.html
Watch the sonic frontiers showdown trailer!
It’s a blast!
Wait ur telling me u didn’t know sonic could go super sonic🌝 that’s been a thing since sonic the hedgehog 2 back in 1991 he basically goes super saiyan with the power of the seven chaos emerald
I feel like you would like His World by Zebrahead from Sonic 06.
This is actually the ending song for Sonic Frontiers
Unless you're on hard mode. That's plays "One Way Dream"
Easy and Normal Modes, that is.
When will you react to I'm Here 🥲 it's the marine theme of Sonuc fronteirs. U gotta listen to the fall version though.
The last one is I'm here!
Now do I’m Here do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it
To be fair expecting screams from one ok rock was something we expected from them in the past when they werent popular outside japan. They kinda went more pop but early stuff had screaming and imo were better songs too.
When they covered Somewhere I Belong at the Hollywood Bowl Memorial Show for Chester Bennington, vocals were on POINT. I would’ve LOVED if Mike kept collating with them.
No need to worry, Taka says that they're planning to slowly back to their old sound
You really need to learn more about music genres if you think the last albums have been pop.
Sooooooo GOOD👍
Plz do knight of the wind from crush 40
I'm Here and One Way Dream are last
Super sonic (yellow sonic) exists since 1992 💀
"It might be slower. I'm not expecting screams"
? Scream/volume ≠ tempo?
One Way Dream is the last one!
Yellow sonic? Your either thinking of super sonic or just the colour schemes of the ring
Disappointing thing is that the cutscenes used in this video aren’t used in the game. It’s just for marketing material.
I don’t get it either.
Yeah a lot of games do that
@@williamcorey4700 Just wish they were a bit more honest about the cutscenes in the game, showing more of the actual ones in the game.
@@studio_1 It literally says it in the trailer.
They make CGI for trailers almost every game and almost every game doesn’t have them in it
Ingame cutscenes are also easier to animate and let your costumes be seen in most cases
So there’s more reason for frontiers to be this way than say sonic forces or sonic generations
Actually scratch forces, I forgot about the custom character lmao
WHO IS YELLOW SONIC!?!
It’s F the pain ayo this family friendly one triggers me 😂
Yeah, so about that whole "fighting a god" thing...
Supersonic
"Yellow Sonic" is Super Sonic. It's not a new thing, and I have NO idea how you haven't seen Super Sonic before, because it's existed since Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in 1992. Let me guess, you don't know what the Chaos Emeralds are either, do you?
Yellow sonic is super sonic
I don't know what the hell people have been saying to get you so confused, but I think it says a lot that all of these songs could pass as a final boss theme.
Before the release of sonic frontiers, i had the fear that the OST will be too kids-friendly. I´m glad that this isn´t the case!
Wait…does he not know super sonic exists?
why is sonic yellow loool
React to i’m here
In the first one you listen to like half the song because the sonic the hedgehog Channel dosent have the full song
i got triggered when he looked away at the supersonic transformation scene so bad. it like really bothered me
W
Sonic Unleashed's opening is by far Marzia's best work. You should check that out.
Crazy how it came out in 2008 and nothing has topped it.
